Hi Margo, Carla and my OFF family:

Can't sleep. I was posting and chatting with Carla when somehow I got kicked off. I had to reboot and get back on. It's still not showing my wireless network bars, but seems to be working.

Well, I have the itchies again and my back and knee hurt; it's why I'm up and can't sleep. We're having storms here ... it  may be while my network went dead for a few minutes; not sure. Miss Juliette doesn't seem to like storms. She's been hiding somewhere on and off all night. I think she might have been under the bed.

Well, have a good day.

Morning Margo, Carla and Eileen, as well as those to come. . .

I am wishing you all a good day and reading yesterday's thread was so cool, the connection I feel to many of you is absolutely real, the community spirit of this group is really one of good support and sistah/brotherhood.

I had something frightening happen last night and I am going to have to look into it. . .  I came home and was very tired, to the point of putting my pjs on and climbing into bed at 7:15.  As I lay in bed watching television, I got a cramp in my right foot and when I tried to get up and walk on it, my big toe became rigid and the pain went up my inner leg to my mid thigh, it felt like someone had pulled a string and it lasted about 10 minutes, the pain was horrible and then about a half hour later I had a similar experience with my left foot, but it was my arch and toes that time and it did not last as long. . .  thank goodness I have roommates, because they came running, Roxie got all upset and was licking my face and trying to do whatever dogs do to comfort.  One of my roommates looked my symptoms up online and said it could be a dificiency in potassium or calcium, so I ate a banana and I also drank some water, as when the weather turns I tend to drink a little less of that stuff, so I am going to get my bloodwork done, haven't had it done since the spring and make sure I get more water in.  I also have sometimes forgotten to take my vitamins, not totally, but sometimes only once a day, so I will be more vigilant about all of those things as well as getting my bloodwork done. . .

Anyway, I am about to get in the shower and get ready for work.

Wishing each and every person here the best day possible and peace and strength to get through the rough spots.

Hugs, Laureen

Yep, getting your labs done is a must, I would think. Something is definitely out of whack. I once read that it take 5 bananas to get enough potassium to make a difference. Don't think you want to eat 5 bananas!

Take care!

Gosh, that's scarry.    Sure hope you get what you need before that happens again!   What a blessing you've got roommates to help out & Roxie to comfort you at such a time.

Laureen,
By all means ... get it checked soon.

That happened to a person in the swim class. The PT came over, had her extend the leg and then pulled the toes towards her body. It helped to relieve the cramp almost immediately. He told her to see her doctor.

This happens to me a lot, although not as much as it used to. I can usually get out of bed, move around and get rid of the cramp. I am on potassium twice a day (and it used to happen more when I was obese, before I knew I was low on potassium).

I also get shooting pains into my left big toe often and I know that's neuorpathy pains from the compressed nerves in my back. I'll have those at work and oh my, they hurt like hell ... I'll be sitting there and all of a sudden let out a little yelp, and my leg will kick forward a bit.

Oh great, and I thought I was the first to post on Wednesday!  Oh well.
Hope everything is good with everyone.  It is a pretty start to the sunrise this morning.

Happy Wednesday, everyone.    Today, I am going to make it a point to pick up after everthing I do.   I know that sounds simple, but it seems I've gotten bad about that, thinking I'll come back later & clean it all up --- and then I don't!   It sure doesn't take long before it becomes a big mess.   When I was working, I was more disciplined --- think I need to go back to that discipline.
