Lets see if this post goes through.

Hi from wet , cold , Southern Cali. We had a wonderful storm set over the High Desert last night, beautiful lightening , loud thunder, the whole nine yards. The honey man and I set by the fire and watched the wonder of mother-nature do her thing. Our pups stayed close to ma & pa, helped keep our toes warm.

Jan, Our dear sister Jan , Asked us all to come out for a homecoming, so here we come!

I also miss chatting with all the dears ones we've met along the way.It seems life has a way of changing us. I did think that once I got my weight under control , the rest of the ( Stuff ) a person deals with would leave me be. Turns out thats not the way that cookie crumbles. Still learning - still trying to relax and just roll with the flow.

Can you believe WLS for me was Feb. 2006, gee's, so many good things have taken place. I walk , kayak, dance, travel, the list goes on.

Thank you Jan, I miss you and all this wild and wonderful family.

Oh Peg o' Mine - thanks for coming out of hiding!    You're right - after wls, there's a kind of euphoria & it's so, so exciting.   Balance is what's needed for me now --- it can't always be a "high" (even if it is drug-free) and you're right, reality does set in!   We miss your comments here - OFF is certainly more fun when you post along with the rest of us!!!   Hope to see lots more of you!
Hugs,
Jan

Jan, As your post came through a thought came to mind.

Homecoming------Did you go to The Dance?

                         Who was your date?

Did you wear the big fluffy dress?

What color were your flowers & did

your date's Tux match your dress?

Was the dance held in the school gym?

                          Double date?

And, have you seen your date in the

                           last 30 + years

Hey, You all, tell us your story

My story: We didn't dance , our church didn't allow.

We had a fancy dinner we dressed up for.

I dated my date for 3 years, Married him 47 1/2 years ago. I got the best of the crop.

Lets hear some story's, Peg in Red

OK, I'll play:

Did you go to The Dance? - Yes, the one I remember is Sophomore Year
Who was your date? - Bob, My boyfriend, who was a Senior
Did you wear the big fluffy dress? - No, not tooooo fluffy
What color were your flowers - Don't remember
did your date's Tux match your dress? - No, can't remember if tux was either white or black, but I wore a color of some sort
Was the dance held in the school gym? - Yes
Double date - I was NEVER allowed to Single-date (now I know why!)
And, have you seen your date in the last 30 + years - Sadly, no.

My story: I sure would like to get in touch with this guy - if only to apologize for what a jerk I was way back then.   He was a wonderful guy and treated my wonderfully.   I took advantage of him shamefully.

Peg, good to see you again.  I've missed seeing your smiling face.

So many of those who were posting when I started here in 2006 have stopped coming by.  I think a lot of them still read the forum, but life does seem to take over and keep many of us from posting.  After a while, everything isn't new any longer, and it's hard to summon the excitement we once had over everything.  It's fun to watch the newbies come along and to share their excitement, but my life is "same-old, same-old", and I seldom have anything new to share.

But it sure is fun to see some of the "old" faces again.

Great idea, Jan!!!

Now, who else is out there????

Candy, It is so nice to see your Lil' face.

I too read the post most day's, just didn't try to figure out how to get back on the site, got it again.

You my dear will never be " same-old " any day of the week. Your zest for life and all it holds is happy making.

I love your garden story's. I do feel your cold bones when the weather chills down.

When we meet some one from out your way, I can say , well I know a wonderful

New York Lady.

Later, Little One, Peg
