What's happening Thursday from our nation's second capitol!

I sure wish I was with you! You are doing exactly what I would want to do in DC... big surprise! I'm having some "withdrawal" pains.
My MRI is done- it took 3 hours plus travel, undressing, paperwork- when I got home I went straight to bed and slept four hours. Then last night I was in bed by 9:00. Now I'm up in the middle of the night- big surprise :).
Today I am still cleaning closets. This afternoon I'll have an early dinner with my school colleagues and retirees. We do that once a month.
Oh- I came home from my trip to a broken monitor to my desktop computer so yesterday we went out to get a new one! I'm enjoying it right now.
So how was that cream horn?

My four year check-up went well. Halloween is the official date. Since I threw my scale away I was hesitant to get on the blasted beast. ( Lately people tell me I look better which my mind has translated to FAT.) I am up one pound since last year, sigh of relief.
Labs were excellent. Iron level down just a couple of points. Dr. M. said to eat more red meat and less chicken. Like that's going to happen.
Just as suspected, I have two more hernias. They are not in a spot where the intestines usually get involved. He gave me the choice of repairing them now or wait until there is a problem. I'll wait.
Guess I am doing something right.

Kisses
Annette
My life is certainly not as exciting as your road trip, but I am so happy that you are enjoying the sites and history and that coming east has been such a great experience for you. . .
Peg nice of you to poke your head in and say hi, you are missed, Julia, glad your MRI is behind you now let's hope to hear some good news, Nettie, you do not look FAT, you look very good.
As for myself, I called my surgeon's office yesterday to schedule a 3 year check up, I was going to skip it this year, since my primary care has been helping me keep up with the bloodwork, but because of some recent events, I decided to call, have them send me bloodwork script and get in there to discuss what might be going on. I had my monthly support group meeting last night at which we have a nutritionist and she had some ideas, but said that bloodwork would tell the whole story, so we will just have to wait and see about this. I did make sure to take all my vites yesterday, as well as drink the requisite amount of water.
Ok, well it's just another average workday, but looking forward to this evening as Tony is coming down for dinner, we have not seen each other in 3 weeks because of his "boys" vacation and my weekends have been tied up with other things, so I am so looking forward to seeing him. . .
Guess that about sums up the day, oh and be careful there is a nasty computer virus going around, I am very careful, but my roommate must have opened an email and it got into my contacts and first I knew of it, my son sent me an email asking why I sent him and email for Viagra (lol). . . I did not realize my firewall was down. . . so spent last night and part of this morning reconfiguring my virus protection program and firewall, not to mention sending out a mass email last night warning people not to open any emails from me without a subject line. . .
Have a great day and I wish you peace and strength to get through whatever life brings your way.
Hugs, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Good mornin', ya'll.
I envy you Karen. I want so much to 'do' DC. We went through there once a few years ago with 2 grandson. But we only had about 5 hours, and that was definately enough for those 2. Not nearly long enough for me. I want to go back up there and see EVERYTHING!! I'd also like to go to many Cival War battle sites. You'd think being in NC now, I'd be able to manage that!
I leave this morning for PDX. I am routed through Salt Lake City. My daughter pays for the tickets and schedules the flights, and goes for the cheapest. Then later wishes she had paid the extra bucks to get me there earlier. I don't care, really. I only have 45 min in ALT and in SLC. I even enjoy longer in the airports so I can people watch. But these days airlines make you RUN from one terminal to another! I have my iPad and my crochet, so Im happy wherever I go.
WAY chilly here this AM. I am wearing shorts on the plane, but I'm taking my UofO blankie. Years ago when I flew I would take my book and wear a thing around my neck with my ID, money and boarding passes in it. Now it seems my carry on weighs as much as my checked bag!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
