I need words of something... advice, experience, charades maybe? Sounds like??

I agree with the others ... more protein, more water ... cheese is good.

As for the acidy feeling ... well, I've had this from day three of WLS and have been on prevacid or something like it, now up to two a day. So much for no more reflux after WLS ... but oh well.

I too have gotten into bad habits ... eating in bed. It's usually something of protein ... peanuts and raisins (and just a dixie cup full and a snack box of raisins, so a reasonable amount), or a protein bar ... but still, not good to eat in bed ... plus, messy!

Janet,

I agree with everyone else in the protein and water mode. . .

I know you are a big Starbucks fan, but if what you drink there is coffee with caffiene in it, that may very well be causing stomach issues, particularly if you are not drinking large amounts of decaffienated things.  I love my coffee, have 2 large cups per day, then switch to decaf fluids, coffee, teas, water when I can swallow it (not so much in the winter months).  You food intake is minimal and so waking up at 2 a.m. would seem like your body needing something of value.  Try, as others said, having some form of protein before sleeptime and see if that does not alleviate the problem.  If within a week things have not changed, make an appointment with your doctor.

Please take care of you!

Missing you and sending you happy pouchy thoughts, Laureen

I have been MIA for a couple of days so I just saw this post.  You seem to have gotten enough advice to  totally confuse you.  Only you know what it  feels like.  Whether acid or hunger.  Just try to take good care of yourself and make the healthiest choices you can.  Your body needs fuel of the good kind.  I don't know if your etoufee was "really"  etoufee ( I am a snob when it comes to cajun food)  Nothing north of I-10 is cajun to me.  If it was then it was loaded with spice and fat.
If you think it is acid the prilosec should work.  You need 1200 healthy calories spaced throughout the day.  You know all this.  Just do the  best you can until your life settles a little.

I am thinking of you and wishing you good things.
