it's thursday already! what's new?
Hi Margo and my OFF family:
Back to the bankruptcy attorney to sign papers this morning ... would like to go for Chap. 7 but he would have to have $1,500 up front and I don't have that (how would anyone who is filing bankruptcy have $1,500?), so we're going for $1,500 and then maybe convert it to 7 later. This will stop the garnishment and the other lawsuit by the condo association jerks (you know I have stronger language for them).
Got a call from my realtor; he has another potential buyer. If this were earlier, I would be doing a happy dance; now I don't care. Sell it, foreclose, don't care anymore. He says we have a better chance with this one because they are offering what the lender wants. Can it get me back my garnished wages? No!
We had a dinner at work last night from the publisher ... very nice ... plus they gave us a $15 gift card for a local grocery store. Plus, I got a $20 Starbucks gift card from my Secret Santa (and I didn't have to give anything ... they drew when I was gone). Everyone knows I come in everyday with iced coffee from Starbucks. So this is very usable.
Well, I need to get ready soon to see the lawyer again. Maybe I'll go to spend my gift card at the store. Have a good day.

Hey Margo!
I am going back to work for a few minutes to pick up some books that I'll need to look over during the holidays, and then I am off for a little more than a week. We are back at work early in January, but we don't start classes until Jan. 10, so I'll still have a little while before the craziness of another busy semester starts. Other than that, I am doing a little last-minute shopping and taking myself out for lunch and then taking some paint chips to my new condo to try and make some decisions about colours. Never a dull moment!
I am a happy woman because after today I will have nothing that I HAVE to do and my time will belong to me at least for a while.
Blessings and peace to all.
Margaret

Hello Everybody. Val brought me to McDonalds so I could check in and say hi and Merry Christmas to you all. I sure do miss reading about everything every day. Hopefully it won't me too long before we can get internet again. I am looking forward to next year with great expectations. I sat down and counted my blessings the other day when I was feeling down and having my own private pity party. They far outweigh my problems. I realized I have lost 193 pounds total since my surgery. That's almost 2 people! Ya'll have a blessed holiday and a happy new year. Miss you all.
Hey Margo and others.
I never leave. I just don't have time to post. But, for the next couple of weeks, I will have a little time. Today, I did my last minute shopping and spent about nine hours cruising through the mall, walmart, and Harps. Now, I'm finished and all the other stuff is wrapped. We are doing dinner here tomorrow night and Christmas day, DH and I are going to do marathon movies. Probably we will watch the Lonesome dove stuff or the Indiana Jones movies. Those are movies we can watch and talk through too.
I hope you all have been good and get more in your stockings than coal. This year, I'mma getting an IPAD. And Hubby is getting a new TV thingy. He says our TV is too small so he is getting a large one. I think he can see the other one just fine, but wants a big one because big TVs are like fast cars.
And, for a drum roll, Hubby got a job. Yes he did. He has been laid off for almost a year. Now, they did pay him six months from his lay off, and that was good. But, we didn't htink he was going to get as good a job as he had, and he got the call and starts Monday. So, I can shop again and buy stuff again, and really good stuff. Yeah.
So, you guys have a happy holiday, Merry Christmas, and all of that jazz.

Aloha OFF family from your wayward friend in the middle of the ocean!
Just had to share on this Christmas Eve day. I read all the time, but just don't post like I used to. I'm thrilled by some of your successes, the new plastic surgeries happening, the happy sounds of Christmas from different parts of the planet.
This is going to be a Christmas for me without kids....kinda sad. But I will see them all in January when I go to Santa Cruz for a couple weeks. My little grands are now 2,4and 6!! I will have them for five days all to myself........it will be a challenge. I always seem to lose 10 lbs. when I stay with them.......pure energy and constant movement......Ha! I did get my box of gifts off to them in time, and they are under the tree. Shipping from Hawaii to Calif. was $49.00....yikes.
We are having a Christmas pupu party tomorrow out on our lawn near the water. There is always a ukelele or two and carrols, and tons of interesting pupus to sample.
On Sunday I will be at the hospital screening the newborns BORN ON CHRISTMAS DAY!! That will be interesting for sure. They have made little santa hats for the Christmas babies. Makes me happy to spend part of the day with the newcomers to this world.
I do so hope you all have a wonderful holiday week. For some it's rough this time of year......as I remember well from when I was a practicing psychologist. I try to remember that there are many in pain this time of year, and send prayers that something happens to make changes in their lives that are positive.
So...as they say in Hawaii "Melekalikimaka" and "Hauoli Maka hikiho". (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year).
I am so grateful to all of you here.......it is a place of friendship and amazing support.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
