what's new wednesday?

Hey Margo and friends.  Today I am continuing my pre-semester prep.  I was about to set my gradebook up when I found my gradebook has no clean pages.  So, today, I'm going to the university to get a new gradebook and get help putting all of my documents online for my students' easy access.  The good thing about getting out is the walking that I will do, but also, I always feel so good being at the University when only the support staff is there.  I think the sacred halls of learning are so much more sacred without all the noise of the learners.  

I got an iPad for my birthday and have not even begun to set it up.  So, today I will start getting the apps downloaded and buy a few books.  I have so many books that I have, as my granddaughter says, a book house.  So, this year, I vowed to buy no more books unless they cannot be downloaded.  

I have also started crotcheting again.  I am making me a poncho.  Last year, I bought a beautiful poncho and realized that I can make them just as beautiful as the store bought ones and they better made, so I've made a few for my friends and am not making me a beautiful black one.  

Well, that's about all I have of my very boring life.

Hi Jeannie....I would love to see a picture of the poncho you are making!  I have turned into a crocheting fanatic (or as my husband claims, I've become obsessed LOL) making blankets, scarves, dog sweaters, etc but would love to make something to wear ;-)  I have gobs of yarn..just don't know what to make with it ^_^

A long time ago, I made ponchos and shawls for my daughter, but I had lost the pattern.  So, when I bought the poncho, and saw that it was like the one I used to make, I just started searching the internet and the first crotchet pattern I found online free was just like the one I paid eighty dollars, on sale,  for.  So, google free crotchet poncho patterns and you will find tons to make.  I like the square looking one the best.  

thanks for the quick response!  I'll do some checking tonight after I get home from work.  I do have a couple of 'free pattern' sites...KnitandCrochet.com and one other I can't think of the addy off the top of my head.  I know Lion Brand and Red Heart also have free patterns.

Morning Margo and OFF family!!!

Wow what a happy surprise I had last night at work!!! I got my review and also a raise!!! 30 cents!!! Not bad for someone that is such a ***** huh? LOL I talked the problems over with the manager and we got some things settled and hopefully the little grade school antics will start to go away between the others and we will all get along soon!!!! Man I hope so!!!

Got home and Rick told me his aunt had died and didn't understand why they didn't wait and have a double funeral. His uncle had died just the week before. So sad.

Also talked about Rick's daughter and her "moving" to florida. He said she will never come over here for her gifts because she doesn't like me anymore because I yelled at her. I then told him that I would take the gifts over to her at her job and embarrass her in front of her co-workers then. He LOL and said that was a great idea!! So she is off today but tomorrow she is working so we will take the gifts over there to her then.

I have my friend Erie coming over this morning to look at my possesed computer and see if he can fix it for me. It turns on all by itself almost everyday, it tells me it has a hardware malfunction, and some emails all I see is fonts sizes and not words. I can get the same email from another person and it is fine...go figure!!! So hopefully he can get it figured out for me.

Congrats on the raise ... good to see someone is getting what she deserves.
