Hi y'all it's Thursday

Hi my OFF family:

I did seven pages tonight at work, three newspapers ... so much for "Eileen's not a team player, doesn't help out" ... that was from my evaluation. The new guy (well, not so new, but the guy from Michigan that was hired in November) went back to Michigan after Christmas for supposedly a week. He was supposed to be back tonight ... well, he didn't show up. The boss tried calling him; no answer, left a message on his cell, but he never called back. So I had to do Monroe sports after I finished Opelousas sports, then had to do Lafayette business after that. Like I said, so much for the "Eileen's not a team player" ... I actually volunteered to do Monroe sports. It wouldn't have gotten done without me ... and we actually made deadline too.

I feel like crap after getting all that done. My body  hurts. I wonder why I keep doing this ... especially since they're forcing us to take five unpaid furlough days.

I hope everyone else is having a better start to 2011 than I am. What's new with you?

Happy Thursday!  wow...Thursday already?

Im up late...my internet went down and I lost all of the afternoon and the full evening til midnight so I didnt get as much done as I'd planned. Derek kept asking me what I had done to my computer since HIS was working just fine while mine rfused to connect to the internet. And I had so much computer work planned for today. In the afternoon, JB and I went to the credit union to sign paperwork and then picked up the mail and on the way home, detoured and went to Red Lobster for lunch.

Oh yes, the reason for MY computer's inability to connect to the internet:  Derek had switched routers downstairs and for some strange reason, his computer still connected but NOT mine..strange!

The Health Inspector was here today to inspect our sewer system..some obsqure bylaw because we are applying for a variance to the local bylaws so Derek can expand his business...apparently the town demands you have TEN acres to fit the criteria and we just have seven acres.   Next week, Derek and JB have to attend the town council meeting and do their speeches to speak about their request while this week, we get a big sign on our lawn saying that we are applying for a variance and if anyone living nearby has an objection, come to the meeting. The joys of living in such a historic area.

Well, since they dug up part of my front lawn, (the inspector declared our system to be working perfectly) I called the man who cleans out the septic tanks and he is coming Thursday morning.

Today I bought myself a new winter coat online - faux fur, black, notch collar and down to my ankles...it's so pretty!  AND a long (to my ankles) slinky fabric skirt with six gored panels and flares out at the bottom quarter...in MAGENTA!  Both were on sale but this has been my week for sure!

I stay home Thursday and will be online alot, creating the list of prospective vendors for the Health & Wellness Fair in May.

It's darned bitter cold tonight...minus 10 celcius...the dampness gets right into your bones! I am so thankful for my mattress pad heater...JB always turns it on when he goes up to bed at 11pm...by the time I get there, the bed is toasty warm. And that's where I am headed right now!

Good mornin' ya'll.
I have decided it is time to give up a lot of the fat in my diet. I love 1/2 and 1/2 on my cereal and a splash of it in my hot chocolate. I am cutting back to 2% mil****il this gallon is gone, then I'll try to get down to 1%. I'm hoping that small change and more time on the ellipticle will get this stall moving!
Does anyone wear/make those 'infinity' scarves? My DIL has decided we should try making them. I finished one yesterday and my grandson's girlfriend says it's too short. I'll make another just like it and hook them together. I am crochetting them. My DIL wants to
learn to crochet, then she can make them. I still have a pirate costume and a lacey white afghan I'm workin' on.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

If you go to ravelry.com and put "crochet infinity scarves" into their search box you'll come up with a ton of patterns. Many of them are free downloads, some you have to pay for. I've gotten lots of great knitting patterns there.

Today is my pre-op plastics visit. My sweet DIL is going with me to make sure I hear everything I'm supposed to. You all know how THAT is, right?....lol

Painting is almost finished, he just has about an hour's work to do. Hopefully I'll be filling up my pantry tonight...YIPEEEEEE.   My lift chair is being delivered today, so things are moving along for next week. Starting to get a bit nervous and anxious.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Gotta run!

Susan....do you knit scarves?? I am looking for someone to make me a not too heavy Vikings purple and gold scarf.
I would gladly pay for the yard, work and shipping.

Hey Connie,

Yep, scarves, and all sorts of things. I'd be happy to knit you a Vikings scarf, but I'm backed up right now with mitten orders and project for a new baby that's on it's way (not a family person, drat!).

Check back with me later in the Spring and we'll talk about it....k?

Carolyn, I have been drinking nonfat milk for many years, cutting back from 2% to 1% and then to nonfat or skim ... I really don't see any difference. I hardly use any milk anyway. As for half and half, there is nonfat half and half out there.

Yeah, the non fat half and half is just skim milk with thickeners. Yuck!

Good morning Eileen and all:
I'm sorry your New Year is not starting out good, Eileen.
I know our newspaper says their circulation is actually up, but the paper sure gets smaller and smaller and the price is the same.  Maybe the guy from Michigan not coming back will be a good thing for you.

Went back to work yesterday -- so happy to be back.  My desk was a huge mess, of course, and I had four big stacks of pd files ready to do.  Made some good progress and wasn't real tired when I got home altho' I did take a little nap later.  So I am going in today, so I can get my three days in this week.   Have a hair cut appt. at 1 to get this long "stuff" cut off.

We are expecting a major snow storm tonite and tomorrow, I can really live without that.  The cold I can tolerate, but slippery snow scares me silly.

Have a terrific Thursday,
Pat r.
