Ahoy 5 DPT passengers. How you doin'? Day 4
Morning all! or rather Afternoon (just checked the clock LOL)
today is Day 3 for me, having started a day later. Yesterday (day 2) went much better than Day 1 but have decided I definitely do not like protein drinks with water..yuk!! However, I persevered and stuck with the water....even used water this morning in my am shake ^_^ I did break down around 10pm last nite..had a Walmart brand light raspberry yogurt...and I admit it was for 'comfort' but I recognized why and what I was doing ;-) it could have been chips and dip!! LOL
today being Day 3 for me, I had a protein water shake for breakfast, coffee to get thru the morning and tuna w/2tsp mayo for lunch. You know, having to wait 30 minutes to drink anything leaves tuna stuck in the teeth!! LOL I know I could take a small swallow just to wash out my mouth...but not only am I getting back to basics...I'm working on the self-descipline area also. I'll be enjoying my Sobe zero water when the time comes...all the way up to bed time. Dinner is still up in the air..gotta read instructions again to see what is allowed...ground turkey patty sounds good.
I want to add something...it is soooooo REFRESHING to read people's honesty here...no guilt, no show-boating...people just being human and proud of it...nobody has to be 'perfect'...everybody just doing the best they can....PRICELESS!!!
Hugs

I'll admit it. I'm a lousy cruise director and a worse shipmate.
I really did fairly well for three days. I did venture away slightly when I had to meet friends for dinner. I had french onion soup both times. It was better than anything else for choice on the menu. I did the protein drinks, didn't get all the fluids in..
Today... dense protein did me in. I've had a lump in my stomach and hurled for 35 miles. I left work at 3 and it's 5:50 and I just walked in the door. Thank goodness for tupperware stuff. Do you have any clue how much my toll bill will be for all the get on's and get off's?
I got rid of the rest of today the minute I walked in the door. Now I'm totally drained but will fix me a cup of hot tea and hope it settles my tummy. Tomorrow is Jay Robb's again for me. It's the best protein around. I'll do my usual soup for lunch.
I think the biggest problem I'm finding is... I don't eat nearly enough.. but when I do... yep.. old habits are hard to break.
Well, I guess we'll just say I got a little seasick on the cruise and couldn't get off to enjoy the sights.

Well, I am checking in but checking in late.
I did OK today. Last night I had a hand full of Cheerios and at work a couple of saltines (my work provides soup and saltines to staff round the clock) but I still feel successful because I didn't just quit like I usually do and I lost my Christmas poundage.
Janet, I have a REALLY hard time with dense protein. I think that is why I have an even harder time with carbs. The slider foods don't make me uncomfortable. Today I had fresh shrimp, sorry Peg, and it filled me up really well. I was uncomfortable but not like I am with chicken or steak or pork. I often have to get rid of those when I eat them....
I think this has been so good for me. Thanks for ALL of you. I have really used the support and loved that we were all working on the same thing. I don't think I have ever done that sort of thing like that before. It works to do it with friends!
I am making chicken breasts with a raspberry chipolata (sp) sauce. I know it's prob not the best but it isn't on it much and helps it go down and stay down.
See you on day 5!
