Hi Karen and my OFF family:

It's gloomy, rainy and chilly ... but warmer than last week ...49 degrees. I'm watching the Bears and they're winning but there's plenty of time left in the fourth quarter and the Seahawks have just scored to come back to 28-10. Don't blow it, guys. The Bears haven't played very well offensively in the second half.

Laureen, I'll root for the Jets ... getting kinda tired of the Pats. The Packers really scare me in the NFC, though ... they're really on the upswing.

Talked to my brother and mom ... mom got the papers from the bankruptcy court, so Gary talked to her about what was going on with me. She asked if she had to do anything, and he said no, unless she was going to contest them. This was, of course, for the Chap. 13 ... the Chap. 7 conversion will follow.

I work a little later today (I go in at 4 p.m., so in another 45 minutes, I've got to get ready). Then I have tomorrow off, work two days, have two days off (one is a furlough day).

I too wish I could do some more traveling, even around this area, but time, money ... well, just can't afford it now. And my body doesn't like it much, either. Wish I could enjoy my thinner body ... since I had the knee replacement, it's just gotten worse. Especially on rainy days like this. Everything hurts. I got up this morning and all I wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep (but the Bears were going to be on soon and I wanted to watch the game).

Well, that's all ... GO BEARS!

Aloha Karen and all the others who post today.

This is the day leave Maui for Santa Cruz! I'm cleaning like a fiend and still finding dust everywhere. Thankfully I have a friend who came and cleaned my lanai and even brought some beautiful green plans which make it look more tropical out there.

I leave at 1:00 p.m. whioch is about two hours from now so I better get going. I'm doing sheets and last minute things like a basket for my sister in law who arrives tonight to kitty sit and enjoy Maui. It will be a long day, and I will arrive in San Jose around 11:00 p.m. and then the drive with my son to Santa Cruz. Doubt if I'll see my grandbabies til the morning. My son tells me they are energetic (ha....that's funny) and that I should take my vitamins. I will survive this! I will, I will. A friend reframed it for me in an excellent way.....she said instead of anticipating problems and chaos, thing of this as a wonderful time to bond with my little boys...plus I'll have them to myself so I can spoil them!!

I'll be using my son's computer and will still be able to check OFF I hope.

My sis in law is coming from Seattle so she's ready for warm temperatures. Since the big rains we have had 80's and humidity which the plants love.....we peeps not so much.

I wish everyone gets the help they need, or find joy and happiness today and every day.

With so much aloha,

Maui Karen

Good afternoon Karen and everyone...

Well last night I told my other three grandchildren I am moving to Iowa. It was very hard....definitely bitter sweet.
We will all be okay. The kids are old enough to understand why I need to go. We laughed and cried. We played silly games and had a great evening. God is our guide. I am making the right decision even though it hurts at times.

Wishing you all ad good evening. prayers as always for those in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi everyone....happy Sunday afternoon!!!  I'm Cindy from the Outer Banks of NC.  It's been a while(too long actually) since I've posted on the board but I've been faithful to come and read everyday about all of you & your lives as you share it.  I'm encouraged with you as you face lots of challenges as things are tossed in your path.  Looking forward in getting to know you more and in order to do that, I know I need to post more often.

I had lap RNY in April, 2009, my husband had lap RNY in August, 2010.  I've lost 157lbs. as of this date.  The loss has slowed down drastically but I'm plucking along hoping to reach goal before my 2 yr. surgery date.  My husband has lost 57lbs. as of today and is still in the learning what he can/can not eat.  Our pouches are named Ricky & Lucy.  Danny, my husband, declares that Ricky has a mind of his own.  I tell him well look who he married....Ms. Lucy girl dictates to me daily!!

I am the proud Mama to Rachael, my special needs adopted daughter who has Downs Syndrome and Autism.  She's 18 now and is the light of my life.  She keeps our home bright & cheery let me tell you.  As I'm typing this, she's lying belly down, on the sofa watching my hubby cook.  It's taco's tonight for dinner.

We are the proud parents of 2 fur babies, Emma & Buster.  They are both VERY spoiled.  I adopted them both from SPCA.  Emma is a full blooded red dachshund and Buster is part dachshund and Jack Russell.....so he's a double mess let me tell you.

Looking forward in sharing more as time goes on.  Have a blessed day, what's left of it.

Cindy
