Hi Julia and all my OFF friends,
Got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning so I could get ready to take my first bottle of contrast for the CT scan.  Took a shower and then drank the 1/2 of the second bottle of contrast.  The CT scan was at 10:00 a.m. - very quick.
I called today and cashed in my 401 K for an employer I worked for from 1994 to 1999.  I had never rolled it over to my current employer.  I did it all over the phone - amazing.  I had heard that the Feds won't charge the 10% penalty when you have a catastrophic illness.  The 401K company told me to have our tax preparer fill out the paperwork for it.  I should get about $9,500 which will cover our bathroom remodeling.
Once we have remortgaged the house I will notify my current employer that I am applying for long term disability.  Then I will cash out my 401K with my current employer which is about $40,000.  That will be my trip taking money.  We haven't decided yet where we are taking my Son, DIL and Grandkids.  I want to take them to WDW.  Hubby suggested a cruise which would be easier if I wasn't feeling well to go back to the room.  Problem is, Son and family don't have passports.  So we have to pick something that doesn't involve needing a passport.  Hubby and I have our passports so we'll take another cruise, with just us.
Oncologists office called to confirm appt. on Friday for results of CT Scan.  They said call before we come because if the weather is bad, the office may close.  I hope not.  I don't want to wait to next week to find out how the chemo is working.
It was snowing here at 11:00 a.m.  Now it's not doing anything but the temperature is dropping.  Lots of standing water in the streets because all the drains are covered with 4 foot snowbanks.  When I try to pull out of my driveway I can't see oncoming traffic over the snowbanks!  Of course today is the first driving I've done in about six weeks.
Going with my sister and cousin to dinner and coffee tonight at Panera Bread.  I love their broccoli cheddar soup.
I have a mild headache so I think I'll lay down for a little while.
Good luck with your surgery Candy.  I hope everyone else who had surgery is recuperating well.
Hugs to you all,
Bev

Hi Bev,
I'm hoping that your CT scan results show that the chemo is working to extend your life. I'm sure your Grandkids would love Disneyworld. There is a new amusement park not too far from that called Harry Potterland (I think). It just opened recently if they are into that. I heard that there are big waterslide amusement parks too, not sure where. You have to stay in their own hotel- they are very exclusive. I'm hearing about those because they may build one in my town. Too bad the family doesn't have passports. That would really improve your vacation options! I love Panera's too... I'm sure you are full by now!
