Good morning everyone!!  I'm up AND posting early...what a miracle.  Usually, I'm up reading all the post and then off to start my day, not taking the time to post.  I'm trying to improve that and post daily.  I enjoy coming here to this site and as I read each post, I feel that I'm getting to know each and everyone of you.  I do want you all to know that I've had you all in my prayers & thoughts.

Today is another trip to Norfolk, VA to my daughters eye surgeon.  The trip isn't so bad, only 2 hrs. away.  Rachael, my daughter, had eye surgery on Friday so today is her post op visit.  From a Mama's prespective, her eyes look terrible.  All blood sho****ery, swollen, etc.  The only complaint she's had is a headache which has been controlled with Tylenol.  With her having special needs and delayed speech, the communication is not very easy at times.  She's been a trooper through all of this though.   I told my  husband that if it had been me going through this, I would be whinning, complaining and laid up on the couch...LOL.

Well, I'm off to prepare a nice omelet for breakfast and then to get dressed.  Got to hit th road here in a jiffy.

Everyone have a blessed day!!!

Cindy

Morning Gang....

Wowzers, Deb!  -22?????   EEEEEEEKKKKKK, I was having a hard time in Wisconson when it was 18!  I'd never make it where you are.

I'm a little dissapointed today that I only got one of the two drains out. Damn!  I hate to go out with these things under my clothes, I either look like a terrorist with a belt of hand granades, or a shop lifter. Neither one is too appealing, so I'm back in the house. Oh well, at least one's gone. I told the nurse that I wouldn't go back to work next Tuesday with this one that's left, so she best figure out when she'll let me get rid of it....lol

My left elbow area may need to be drained, it's swelling like mad. It's about the size of a ping pong ball now. The nurse said when I went back to have this other drain taken out she'd have the doc look at it and he'd probably drain it. Great....another drain?  Nurse types fill me in on this....does anyone know how that's done?

After my appointment I went to Penney's and bought two pairs of their brand of Spanx. I have to wear them for at least another 6 weeks or so after I'm out of the binder. What an adventure!!!!

Okay, that's all there is to my exciting life, such as it is. Hope you all have a great day!

I'm not sure what the plan may be to drain the elbow area, but they can drain it without putting in a fixed drain.  That's probably what they'll do.  It usually involves a syringe and a needle and takes but a few minutes.

Hang in there, girl.

Yeah, I figured needles would be included somewhere. Not a pleasant thought, but I'm pretty sure it will need to be done. Can I ever do anything like this without something weird happening????

SIGH!

hope you're doing well

When they had to drain my belly after my hyst., they sliced open the incisiion and it burned really bad.  Then they let it drain and heal from the inside out.  Hopefully they will just do the needle aspiration.

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

Ah yes, I remember the below zeroes well. Don't miss 'em ... used to have to survive those temps in South Dakota. Plus the wind chills ... sometimes -80. ... Brrrr!

We are chilly at 46 but not so bad as you, Debbie. Still, it will mean a winter coat today. Yesterday, I got a call from the clinic saying my potasium is still low normal. I'm taking two potassium pills a day (horse pills, hard to swallow even for me, and I can swallow pills easily). Don't know why I can't get my potassium up.

So yesterday I did absolutely nothing ... I did get to the chiro, then to Office Depot to do some copying and get some stuff off to my FSA from last year (mailed it out before Xmas and they never got it). Then I came  home with dinner and watched a movie, read and went to bed ... only woke up twice with the sweats.

Back to work tonight ... three days on, then a night off. I hate split days off. I don't feel very rested and get nothing done.

Well, need to get into the shower soon. Have a good day.

Morning Debbie and OFF
-22 and you're outside????  That's insane! LOL  Guess I should keep my mouth shut about our Calif weather...high 60's...T-shirt weather ;-)

Not much going on in my world..pretty much same o, same o.  Went to my local support meeting last nite; it is really weird when the leader and myself were the oldest ones post op! (barely 2yrs).  Half way thru the meeting, 2 of our guys showed up, 1 3 1/2 yrs out and the other 5yrs but they don't talk much.  Alot of new faces and newbies just starting their journeys.  The dynamics of the group is really changing...it is just strange to be one of the 'old-timers' LOL  In an odd way, it keeps me honest and on track...don't want to be one of those that forget all the rules and gain the weight back...I want to be an example of Success...does that sound selfish or conceited??? I just figure I better practice what I preach ;-)

Well, back to work...still looking out my office window contemplating going for a walk...I really really should go......
Hugs to all
