HAS ANYONE HAD GASTRIC PLICATION ?

In 1999 I had a Nissen Fundoplication done for my GERD. In 2004 I had it redone. I don't know if this is similar to what you are having, but this was not for weight loss. It was for rebuilding a sphincter in my esophagus. My acid reflex was gone forever!!

No, I know what you're talking about is a WLS. I was just telling you I had some sort of "fundoplication" that wasn't a WLS. Have you tried posting this on the main board. I'm sure you probably have but I thought I'd just ask. I hope you are able to find someone who has had or is having that so you have someone to talk about it with and "lean" on like you said. That would be great!

I did some googling on this procedure and from what I can tell, it is a 'modified' sleeve that has been available since July of last year. One of the sites quoted a doctor who has been doing the procedure since last year..said it was easier to do and faster recovery. And although they didn't recommend it, it was reversable. Doris..from what I read, the procedure is just now going into 'testing' stage here in the states. Apparently, it has been done in Mexico, by surgeons who have been trained by US doctors, since last year. Not sure if there is anyone who has had it..it is really new. Will be interesting to see your comments after surgery ;-)
