Good Morning all of OFF!
It's Saturday!  I woke up early for some reason and well, here I am!  Not much planned for the weekend.  I do need to clean the house a bit and get some sewing done.  Other than that, not much planned.
We had the first Pharmacy introduction this week, I am the IT lead for that application so sat in the classes all 3 days.  Next week is order management, then the nursing home new system they are getting and then....and then.....and then.....!  Glad to be getting busy now.  I like being busy better then I do being status quo.
Went to the pool last night with my friend Carol.  we worked out pretty good. I'm not losing any weight that's for sure, but I don't think I am gaining any either so something is helping someplace!
Planning to head to NW Ohio in the end of March for a week of sorting, packing, disposing and moving.  I would love to have my income tax back with enough left to get carpet for the house but doubt there will be enough for that.  Then I can get it up for rent and hopefully make a few dollars on it anyway.
Not much else going on in my world, whats new with you?

Good morning, ya'll.
Well it has been 5 days since I got my new hip and I am tired of this cr*p already! If I want to do anything I have to leverage myself up outta the chair, get the walker and hobble to my destination. I can't carry food or drink, I have to get my DH to do that. If I get set down and realize I have forgotten something, I have to go through the entire process again. Or ask my DH to go get it. I can't even get into bed by myself. He has been a peach, and even gets irritated with me if I go do something he could have done for me! With the shoulder surgery, and even after the liver resection I could get around by myself. I HATE being dependant on others.
On the bright side! I only have pain in the front of my upper thigh, and only when I do the PT, so I know that is the muscle getting stronger. And it's not major pain. So I should not be complaining.
I know there are plenty of you out there who live with debilitating pain, or depression every day and there is no change in sight for you. Or you are tied to a walker, or wheelchair or oxygen. You don't do the 'poor me' or 'why me'. You just keep on keepin' on. I salute you all. And I'm sorry I sound petty.
It's Saturday, so I'm sure we will be seeing kids and grandkids off and on all day. Although everyone had stopped in all week to check on me. But they won.t let me fix them any food!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Sweet women you can rant all you want. You are such an independent women and this temporary situation does suck for you.  Pretend you are surfing and your hubby is the board that gets you ride on the wave. Your in charge, but that board makes it possible.....for now.
Glad the pain isn't toooo bad. Hugs, monica

Take heart Carolyn -- this too shall pass.  I remember when I had mine done, I couldn't sleep in our bed.  Luckily, we had a sofa sleeper in the living room, and that's where I spent most of my time.  As soon as I could, I was outside with the walker going down the sidewalk.

I did do some cooking but usually from the kitchen chair and my hubby had to put it on the stove or in the oven.  He was so good at helping.

Believe me it gets better and soon you will forget all this inconvenience you've had to put up with.

Hugs,
Pat r.

Grammylew,
I have a backpack that has a water bottle holder on the outside.  It has tiny bungie cord that holds the bottle in place, or any other container you put in the bottle holder,   Do you have anything like that at home?  You could strap it on to your walker to carry things stablely (is that a word).  The water bottle holder is big enough for other containers like travel mugs.  The backpack itself can hold your reading material, craft supplies, paper, pens, etc.
I'm glad your pain is manageable.  Keep walking, that's the best exercise to get back.
Hugs,
Bev

Carolyn:

No, you don't sound petty ... it's tough to get through joint replacement (having been through it twice on one knee). Hope yours goes better than mine.

I had a tray to put on the top of my walker ... got it through Dr. Leonard's catalog, but I've seen it through Miles Kimball and others, too. Because I was on my own after my surgery for the most part and made my own meals, etc. (well, nuked frozen dinners). But I still had to carry them into the living room from the kitchen.

Hey, we all have our own burdens in life. You had cancer, much worse than some of the stuff I deal with daily. I just have pain and depression and a job I hate. At least I have my health. And good friends, online and distant though they are.

Good morning all....happy Saturday!!  Today is gonna be(hopefully) a non rush to get things done kind of day.  I've got some laundry to do, grocery shopping and at noon, I have a job interview.  My first job interview on a Saturday ever.  It's a part-time office job for a storage facility about 1 1/2 miles from my house.  Some extra cash in our household budget.

Well, my daughter, Rachael, is doing wonderful since her eye surgery last week.  The swelling and redness is decreasing daily.  Her surgeon says that it'll last for about 2 more weeks.  She's been such trooper in this process.  No complaining except an occasional "it hurts" and then I give her Tylenol and it seems to work just fine.  She's my special little bent winged angel.  If I live to be 100, I'll never understand the reasoning of why God allows children to be born with special needs but one thing I do know, I am THANKFUL that He chose me to be her Mama.  Ok, enough of the sappy stuff....LOL

I hope that everyone's Saturday/weekend goes well.  I read daily and feel like I have gotten to know you all and what's going on in your lives.  I hold you all in my thoughts/prayers.

Good morning one and all,

Debbie, I'm so glad that you're getting to the swing of thins at the new job. Busy is soooo much better than just hanging around.

Today is supposed to be glorious here in AR....high in the mid 70's! Gary is going on a 10 mile run down at the river, so I'm going to go to the salon and get my two stations ready for work on Tuesday. Boy, this has gone by quickly!
Yesterday I sat out on our new patio and soaked up some vitamin D, sipped a latte and read my book. I could get used to that, for sure...lol

Okay, gonna go see if anyone has been eating around here, so I'll see ya later. Hope you all have a great day!

Susan, I am green with envy.
I woke up to a whole lot more snow on my car and on the ground this morning.  No scraping needed, but lots of brushing off of the white, fluffy stuff.  The plows were out bright and early and the roads are clear - at least in town.
I don't hate winter; however, when I hear/read about someone soaking up vitamin D and a temp in the 70's (21C to me!) I must admit that I am a little jealous.
Enjoy your wonderful weather and have a glorious day!

One of my resolutions this year was to post at least twice a month even if I didn't have anything earthshaking to say.  I follow the board closely but seldom chime in.

I shoveled the porch and walk, filled the bird feeders (the woodpecker is reinding me that he would enjoy a bit more suet) and plunked down here for a moment before heading into town for breakfast, in hope that the plow will scrape me clear, instead of digging me in.

Prayers and good thoughts for all, and patience for those in need !
