I confess I fell off the boat.  I am still clinging please haul me in.  Things just moved so fast for me this week.  I start my pre-op diet Feb. 14.  I am trying very hard to be good.  Things are just spinning around.  Moving so fast . I pick up my opti-fast on Monday. I think when I start that I will calm down.

Doris, Just keep your eye on the prize. The prize being a healthier you. This isn't easy as we all learned. Your part of starting on the Journey is to follow your Doctor's guidance. The end result is so worth it. My very best to a newby, Peg

Thanks Peg.  My grand-daughter is getting married in Las Vegas in June.  I am hoping to have lost some weight by then.  Wouldn't it be wonderful.  Part of my goal.   Doris QC.

Well, personally I've not just fallen off the boat, I'm drowning and fast!!  I had surgery in April, 2009 and did awesome with following my plan, lost 157 lbs.  That left me just 31 lbs. from Dr.'s goal.  Well, I went and got married this past July, my hubby had RNY in August of 2010, my special daughter's eye surgery, moving, excuse, excuse, excuse, I've lost ALL control and have gained back 11 lbs.!!!  Everyday I wake up, log on my computer, go to my online food log and make a tentative eating plan for the day.  I do very good until evening then it's shot to hell and back!!  Then I go to bed, tell my husband that we've got to do better on our plan only to wake up and do it all over again.  I'm miserable to say the least.  So, that's the reason I've not been posting my eats for the day...too embarrassed!!

Cindy

P.S.  Sorry for the whinning......my problems are so small compared to some things that you all are facing.  Thanks for listening.

Beating yourself up will only make the stress and out of control eating worse!  I've been there...many times :-(   Food has always been our 'comfort' during stressful times.  Keep treating each new day as a clean sheet of paper...you have the power to start fresh...and forget the guilt!   You have come so far on your journey...and it's not about getting to the destination...it's about the scenry and discoveries we see and make on the way!  Do the best you can...and be proud of yourself!  You're here...that's a great 1st step ^_^

Nancy, you're absolutely right!!!  I need to take time to smell the roses along my journey.  Thank you for posting this reminder to me.  Today is a new day, one in which the Lord has made, let us rejoice in it!!!

Again, thank you for taking your time to post to me.

Cindy, I so agree with what Nancy said!

Now....your assignment for the day is to clear out all of the stuff in the house that none of you need. You know what it is.....anything that might tempt you to go nibble. I know it goes against every fiber of our being to throw away food, but if you can't dump it, give it away to a neighbor. You don't need it, neither does your husband!

Believe me, you will so totally empowered you won't believe it!  Really, if you think about it, food is an inanimate object that can't MAKE you get up and eat it. You, however, are smart and willing to make changes, so show that food who's boss!!!!

Susan....you're ABSOLUTLY right!!!  I did clean out the cubbards and went shopping for some "allowed" foods.  It's almost 5 p.m. and SO far we've done great!!!  Thanks for the encouraging words and taking your time to post.  I hope you've had a good day thus far and rest up before returning to work on Tuesday!
