Sunday- What's New?

I'll get this started... HI Everyone!

My weeks have been flying since I got back to work! Friday was eventful- I've been wanting a dog for quite some time. Our old dag Darla died last April... she was 18 and we loved her so, so much! I've been keeping my eyes open- checking the internet shelter pictures- and was drawn to one at a shelter near here. I'm a new mama... her name is Roxy (sound familiar Laureen?)... she's a lab mix, but only 36 pounds - as sweet as can be. She can't believe her good fortune.She has a warm house, loving parents, and is sleeping on our bed....Sookie is happy, but not totally... she loves having a sister to play with, but is jealous too. Other than the new dog nothing much is going on with me. We are watching the Amber Alert closely... the little boy that was taken by the ex-boyfriend is likely to be in the canal that runs very near my school. They found the car, but no bodies yet. It's hard to believe that a man could have the kind of anger to kill a 4 year old as he commits suicide. I'm so glad that those cases are rare.
I'm going to head back to bed. Happy birthday Carla... late... sorry. I just got your phone message yesterday- I'll call back soon. I'm so bad about checking messages on my cell phone. When I check them I sometimes have ten or more messages . I'm just not as attached to my cell as most of my friends are. I like having it, but I don't get my money's worth I'm sure.  Hope you are all having a peaceful weekend!

Good mornin', ya'll.
I'm still tied to this dang walker. Still having pain in the front of my left thigh when I get up and move around. I'll call the doc tomorrow and see if this pain should be easing up. My PT lady will come tomorrow also. My DH put my TED hose on me today. Thinking that may help the pain and swelling.
Tuesday I'm gonna venture out driving my DH to his appt. We may stop at WM and I'll use an electric cart. But we aren't mentioning this to our daughter or DIL.

Happy Sunday to all!
Quiet morning here in the NEKVT so far, Angus let me sleep in until 6:30 this morning!  It appears to be on the gray side outside and I believe some snow showers are forcasted. 
I did clean up the living room and downstairs rooms yesterday and got my curtains sewn for the spare bedroom.  I must say they look cute!   Now to cut out and press the ones for the downstairs into shape and then stitch them up too.  Took me a while to figure out how to thread the bobbin and machine, with glasses, with out glasses, what a pain!  sipping my chai right now then will take myself out for breakfast and get some groceries for the week.  Pension pay day comes the first, have bills all set up to pay on the third so should be good there.  Not much else new in my world!

Good morning OFF
It seems like forever since I have been here.  I read often but usually get interrupted by a little one!  We have 4 little charges.   The three we have had are doing fine.  Our  new one is catonic.  She reacts to nothing   she does nothing.  These are the hard ones.   My other 3 little blessings keep trying interact with her!   We will win.    
Cold here in Michigan!  I am ready for spring.   I think  we are going to make it to church today.  Colds are all better. Have a nice fat chicken ready to roast for dinner.                                                                   Prayers going up from our home for all of you good folk.   

Good morning all.  Woke up early this morning.  Gonna have to take a nap before I go to work tonight. 

Did some housecleaning with Mary yesterday.  We had to find a place to put 80 cans of vegetables.  Kroger had Del Monte veggies on sale for $.26 a can. 

Gotta get ready for Sunday School and Church. 

Good morning Julia and Friends,

Mike's over visiting the grands until at least tomorrow so "while the cat's away" as the saying goes. I hung out in my gown until about noon yesterday then headed out. Ran some errands, stopped at a couple of thrift stores and also a couple of bridal shops looking at MOG dresses and also flower girl dresses for ideas.

Today I'm really stepping out of my box. I'm attending a Quaker Meeting in Walla Walla which is about an hour drive from here. Closest meeting to my house.  I attended a meeting in PA last fall in a meeting house where my ancestors worshiped in the mid 1700s. I've been wanting to attend another of the silent worship meetings ever since. Hope it isn't foggy when the sun comes up as I have to drive along the river and I hate driving in the fog.

I have to laugh at myself. When I was looking for a new sofa I couldn't find anything I liked anywhere near us including miles around. Mike couldn't believe that of all of the sofas I looked at none would do! Well, I guess churches are that way too! Closest Quaker meeting is 60 miles away! BUT, maybe I always want what is hard to attain. So I'll drive there to get it!

I'm looking forward to the experience. The silent Quaker form of worship appeals to me as I don't want a preacher telling me how I should behave. I KNOW that.I really do not believe that any one particular church's doctrine is THE answer. I want to reflect silently and internally for the good in me. Sitting still in silence is not easy, epecially for me!

I'll spend a few hours over there and then come home and prepare for my week. Just a bit over 3 weeks until Mike and I head to Arizona for a week. I confirmed all of our reservations yesterday and am excited to see places I haven't seen before.

Sending healing thoughts to those who need them and warm friendship vibes to everyone!
