Janet,
Sorry your room didn't work out and that one day was spent sick.  I've been on 3 cruises and had a really good time.  My Sis and I spent $100 more than my cousins to be a deck above them.  (We didn't want to have to hoist ourselves into a top bunk. LOL)  What a difference a deck made.  We had a wonderful steward, they had a crappy one.  We had no room problems, they had a shower drain back-up over the entire floor of their cabin.  They ordered a third bed in their room which was not there when they arrived and once it did come, they had to step over it to get around their room.  This was a Carnival cruise to Playa de Carmen, Mexico and Grand Cayman Island.  The other two cruises were with hubby on Holland America and were great (Alaska and The Mexican Riviera - Cabos San Lucas, Matzatlan and Puerto Vallarta).  We hope my health will hold up that we can take a cruise of all the Hawaiian Islands this year.
I hope your next cruise is a better experience and you get to relax.
Hugs,
Bev

Wow Janet,

Sounds like a big girl adventure for sure, you certainly experienced it all in seven days and came away quite well.  Loved reading about your adventure and will talk soon.

Hugs, Laureen

Hey Red and my OFF family:

Janet, what a story. I have gone on cruises by myself, but it's nothing like your tale. I'm not the casino animal, either, or one to sit at shows, though. I do go to a few at these cruises (mostly to the smaller ones because I don't like the big crowds ... too many people crowded and too much perfumes I can't handle).

We're getting rain here and under a tornado watch. But I know you guys up North are suffering more with the blizzard pending. My body hurts and I'm getting a headache, plus my tummy is acting up. It's a fibro flare.

Yesterday, I went to the chiro but he wasn't there ... he went home sick. So I had my therapy, started having a hot flash under the heating pad but couldn't get anyone in to take the damn thing off, so I just sweated for a few minutes until the woman came back.

Then I went to get groceries, had a rotisserie chicken (well, not the whole thing) for lunch/dinner, did my taxes and watched a movie; started a new book "The Lady in the Tower." About the last few months of Anne Boleyn. This is a nonfiction book ... after reading a historical fiction about Mary Queen of Scots that was so far off the historic part (there was so llittle history in it and so much fiction), I am enjoying the real history. Allison Weir is a wonderful author.

Well, work again tonight. It's supposed to get cold as the day goes on. Have a good day.

I'm writing this update in Carribean Blue in honor of Janet's cruise to the beautiful water! How did you like the stingrays Janet? I was there too, but the waves were going over my head. The weather was too rough that day for cruise ships but we went anyway... those rays are monstrous, and they slide all over you! Slimy gray stingrays going between your legs, over your arms, etc... quite an adventure!
Today is my first day back to work FULL TIME! I have some things to do mid day to help my back last all day. I am probably permanently handicapped, but functional. I am not complaining- I can do this- no problem. This is much better than cancer.
Oh, my new dog Roxy is a total love!  I love her so much already that I can't imagine not having her! It was a good decision to get another dog!
I hope that none of you get snowed in with this front going through. I think I'll stay in California forever.

Those wonderful dogs just worm their way into our hearts very, very quickly.  Don't they?
I just told someone else that it is a requirement of this board that pictures be posted of any new animal(s).  You may not have been informed of this policy change.    But you've just gotta follow protocol and post a picture of Roxy!

Hey Janet!  You are one great story-teller!  I feel like I was following you around the ship...and I've never been on a cruise (I'm soooo jealous even with the burbs along the way).  I love your persistence in getting your room changed! Way to go ;-)

Today is same routine...work and then home.  At least I'm busy here at work (can't ya tell? LOL) it being the end of the month and beginning of a new one..close books for January and gear up for the beginning of annual convention preparations.

My youngest son started my day in a wonderful way...sent me a phone video of my granddaughter taking her first (well, for me) steps..from the couch to daddy's lap ^_^  And another video of her pushing her stroller all over the front room.  She's literally my million dollar miracle baby and each new mile stone is such a blessing.  She had open heart surgery at just 9 days old and spent 5 weeks at Stanford Medical.  She's on the tiny side but she makes up for it in temper! LOL

Hope everyone has a great day...and Carolyn..sure hope it's not a clot!  Take care and don't push yourself!!
Hugs and prayers for ALL

What a trip! Glad you are back home all safe and sound.

Nothing new happening here. Same medical stuff with Tom. The doctors are scratching their heads trying to find a solution. Next they are putting him on a CPAP machine to see if that helps lower the BP.

Kisses to all

It is now evening and I think the numbness is totally gone.  I  don't have too much pain and I think the bleeding has almost stopped.  I feel like I am back on the pouch test.  I ate a small amount of mashed potatoes and that's it today.  I will take my regular meds tonight and restart my coumadin.  I think I'll take a pain pill just as a precaution.  I want to get a good night's sleep.  I doubt I need to take anymore.  Tomorrow is soft foods again and then I can start a regular diet just not chew on that side for 3 weeks.  Maybe I won't gain on this upcoming cruise.  could be a plus.
