Friday April 1, 2011 what's new?
Morning Debbie and OFF family!!!
Well the snow we had yesterday is all melted and now they are saying another 1-3 for tonight?? YUCK!!! Go away winter it is spring ya know!!!!!
Slept better last night with the vicodin. Hate being in a fog though. But it IS better than the pain! The real test is today with me working 1230-9! Then tomorrow 830-5 again!!! OMG!!! And I will be alone all those hours and its the first of the month and BUSY!!!!! Excuse is that they are working on last years payroll and the money isn't there for more help...yeah tell me another story you want me to believe!!! Why am I the only department that has to work alone? So unfair!!!
We get to wear our INDIANS tshirts and hats today celebrating the opening of baseball season. Not sure if I have to wear my apron or not but I did ask last week and was told no but I will bring it just incase. Saw in the paper this morning they were cleaning the snow off the field getting it ready for todays game. Its going to be a chilly time there!!! BRRRRR Good Luck INDIANS!!!
Nothing else happeing here in my life...just relaxing and back still hurting. Sitting around makes it worse. The shots in my foot yesterday made it feel better so far. See how long this lasts. Can't wait til Tuesday for the shots in the back!!! :-)
Have a great day and know I am thinking of you all!!!

I went to my second Zumba Gold class last night. I thought I was doing horribly, but looking around, I see that almost everyone misses a step (or 10) every once in a while. I figure if I continue to go twice a week I'll eventually catch on. I enjoy the music, and the other women are nice, so I'll hang in there till it starts being fun. Can't wait....
This afternoon I volunteer for 2 hours at the clothing thrift store at a local church. I'm not a member, but they can use the help. It breaks up my day and I know they appreciate the help. Besides, you never know what I'll find. I haven't been getting much there because my closets are so full, and because I don't want to get the larger size. Just one more way for me to stay on track. But there's lots of nice things when I'm ready.
My 5 year post op checkup is mid May. Every time I've seen the doc for the past two years I've been up a pound or two. The plan this time is to lose 5 lbs and be below the last time. Thus the exercising and the return to a protein shake every day. Janet told me about Jay Robb Tropical Dreamsicle flavor, mixed in Crystal Light Orange flavor. I mix it, pour it over lots of ice and it's yummy. Had to special order it at the local vitamin place, but I know it's available on line. For someone like me who gags at the taste of whey protein, especially mixed in milk, it works. I'm so glad I got it. It should get me over the slump I'm in.
Nothing much going on this weekend. Everyone have a great one!

I am late posting today. I had to run, or hobble, to the doc's for my B12 shot, and then to the lab for my INR for my coumadin. My level has not been right since my surgery, which is to be expected.
After the medical junk was taken care of, I hobbled through the grocery store picking up a few items I needed. I prefer the prices of certain items at Walmart, but I can never get a handicapped spot there, and prefer comfort today.
I put a pot roast in the oven to take to a friend's, who had a baby a couple of weeks ago. She has two older kids and has her hands full now, so I am part of our church's ministry taking meals to the sick and new Mommies.
Other than keeping my foot elevated to keep it from swelling with post-op edema, I will take the meal to my friend's and try to get to an AA meeting later. That depends on how the foot feels. It was really swollen last night, and I had taken it easy yesterday.
Hope you don't get too much snow. This weather is ridiculous. I am predicting that where I live we will go from winter weather to summer temps with little to no Spring in between. That is what has happened in the past few years.
Hugs,

Sober 149 days and so proud of me.
Ran our errands. Beautiful, crisp, clear day here. Survived the Tstorms and no tornados. Flooding in area and damage too. Grateful that the weather changed.
Hope all are well. Traveling Bra had fun while out. Hubby is offically the Man's Martha Stewart..he got 4 Easter Bonnets to hang as decorations on our window awnings. They are too cute and so original. Thank you Target for your $1 bins. Also gave in and got a pink flamingo lawn decoration. Offical Florida!! He meandered into the Hallmark store and found Yoda a Christmas stocking, looks like him and 1/2 price too. Also found Alex, age 8 a small pirate treasure box 1/2 price.
Everyone have a terrific TGIF. Monica
I'm on here really late today. I got woken up at 9:30 when there was banging on my door ... it was the postal carrier with my overnight package (well, it didn't get here quite overnight ... but close enough) that had my vehicle title in it. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so I got up and went out to the DMV and got my license plates. So I'm an office Louisianan now. Put the plates on when I got home ... I was sitting there nearly a half hour before I got called in. Couldn't get the handicapped plates because I have to have a doctor's signed statement ... they wouldn't transfer that from Michigan. Oh well ... I still have my hang tag.
Good luck with the shots for your knees ... I tried those and they didn't work because I didn't have any cartilage left for the synthetic stuff to work. The way my elbows and fingers have felt lately, I'm thinking of seeing a rheumatologist.
Back to work tonight ... going to be a stressful one. We are switching to a standard system for all papers to get ready for when we move to the "Design Studios" ... and tonight's the night for the Monroe paper, which I have to work on tonight and for the next two nights after. A whole new set of style sheets ... oh joy, do you realize how man of these I've gone through?
Anyway, that's my life today. Have a good one.
It is an absolutely gorgeous spring day here at the lake! I'm sorry you all can't be here to enjoy the sunshine and warm temps.
My mom and I went to the ginormous outlet mall in San Marcos this morning. I'm not ready to shop for clothes yet, but I did buy some smaller underwear! I'm going to BURN those size 13 panties!!! Never again! I also found a couple pair of sandals that I liked. I figure I can buy shoes. Oh, and some new calphalon pans at the outlet store. I'm still setting up my kitchen here at the lakehouse. I try to pick up a new piece or two every trip.
My daughter and grandson are on their way here now, and we're going to Wimberly, a charming little town with a large renovated shopping district in their downtown area. Lots of crafts and antiques. I still need to find a couple of cast iron skillets for my kitchen down here. And maybe some Easter basket items for Benny.
I tried ground beef for the first time last night, and it did just fine. That's good. I've now tried chicken, fish, shrimp and ground beef. I'm tolerating all of it, so that's good. Monday is my 6 weeks checkup with the doctor. I can honestly say I'm not having many problems. Just some bowel troubles. Honestly, I'm either loose or I'm constipated. No two days are the same! But I suppose that's par for the course after having your bowels re-routed, hmm?
I am loving my vacation this week, but I'm missing my husband so much! He'll be home in less than two weeks though. We call this the "downhill slide". It's always better when I can count the days on my fingers!
My new kitchen table and chairs and hutch are being delivered tomorrow! I can hardly wait. We've been eating on an old patio table since we bought this place last fall. My daughter is going to help me move it out onto the back deck this afternoon. I'll be so happy to have a real kitchen table here. It will make it so much better for family gatherings.
Well, I'm just a-ramblin' on and on. I'd better close and get ready for our fun afternoon. Best wishes for an early spring for all my northern pals!

It's friday and I have a lot to do, but here it is after 1 o'clock and I'm still at the computer. The other night my cat, Bela, woke me every hour. I gave him some food, gave him fresh water, gave him some lovin's. Nothing helped.
So many are still feeling the effects of winter while I'm complaining about our above average temps. Hope it cools down a little. Must go and be productive. Mag
