April Fools

Hello everyone

I am unable to sleep so was playing on the computer and saw the calendar switch to April 1st.
That got me to thinking about April Fools jokes.  Who pulled a good one on you or who did you pull a good one on.

I never have any luck with that but my husband really got my kids one year.  April 1st fell on a Monday so he started on Saturday teling them that someone had put poision in the city water system and school would probably be canceled on Monday.  He made sure we used bottled water all week end and on Sunday night told them there would be no school the next day.  They of course told all their friends and you know how that spreads.  Bright and early Monday morning he woke trhem up and yelled HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY !!   You can imagine the Chaos that ensued.  I just hope they had all their homework done.

I really should be in bed- I tried but our new puppy Penny was snoring... she's worse than my husband! My April Fools story is that I had my only child on that day 26 years ago. I was so pregnant but NOT wanting my baby born on April Fools Day. But the night before I sat down in the recliner to watch 60 Minutes and my water broke so I knew that April Fools it was. On her 1st birthday cake it said "Happy Birthday Laura- No Foolin'"She's my masterpiece!
I did pull a fast one on my psychologist one year. I had this gigantic pink memo pad- the kind that says "While you were out" but blown up to 5 by 8. I wrote the a former principal called (one that had almost driven him to drink) and that she was coming back for a few months to supervise him. It had a number to call and looked official except that the pad size was gigantic. He came flying into my office to freak out... I couldn't keep a straight face. Said April Fools! He was so relieved...he had teased me plenty of times over the years. I felt no guilt.

Ahhh such a fun subject.
Hubby did the best one...years ago he put plastic wrap on the toilet seat. Caused giggles, but no wet bottoms. I never pulled an April Fools joke, afraid I'd get someone mad at me.

I woke up on April Fool's day 8 years ago, after spending my first night in my then new home. . .  laid in bed thinking I was dreaming and as I lay there I heard a tapping noise outside, listened real closely, heard it again, it was the first time in my life I was hearing a real live woodpecker. . . so no April Fool's joke, I am living in my April's Fool home. . .  ;)
