Good morning, OFF!

I am finally home again after 11 days of travel.  Man, be it ever so messy, there's still no place like home!  I have a scary long to-do list before my husband gets home next week, but that's okay.  I'm feeling more and more like ME again these days.  More energy, more enthusiam for life.  Maybe I can tackle some areas around here that I've been neglecting for a long time.

So, my checkup at Dr. Garth's went great!  I have lost a total of 33 pounds on his scales!  Not quite that much on my scales, but I'm not going to quibble over a pound or two.  He said I was doing great, but I need to exercise more.  Wants me to walk 10,000 steps a day.

So I got home to my computer and I googled 10,000 steps.  Holy cow!  That's about 5 miles a day!  I have to confess, that really feels overwhelming to me right now.  I know it doesn't all have to be done in one sitting.  It's the number of accumlated steps over the course of each day.  But still--that's going to me a big committment to my treadmill each day!  Isn't it?

Looking forward to being back on my computer on a regular basis again.  I miss you guys when I can't log on every day!  Everyone have a great day!

Fantastic weight loss. When have you EVER lost 33lbs in such a short time. Continued success.
Get yourself a pediometer and put it on first thing in the AM, wear it all day. Those 10,000 steps will add up quickly, not just from dedicated treadmill time.
Also record your melting inches with the tape measurer to help you SEE the success you are having even when the scale doesn't seem to be moving. Remember there are many ways the weight loss shows itself, in your mirror, in your panty fit, in your hubby's eyes, when you pee it away.
Continued success! Monica

Yes ma'am!  30-35 pounds is the MOST weight I have ever been able to lose on any kind of a traditional diet, like Weigh****chers.  And that's after months of struggle.  So I'm very happy with the scale right now.

And I got on my treadmill and walked 2 miles this morning.  There's 4000 steps right there.  I'm not very fast yet, but I hope to work up to 3 miles an hour soon.  I never have like walking on the treadmill very much because I get so bored.  But now that I have my Nook, I can do it.  I just set the font size to xx-large and I can actually read while I'm walking!  It's great, and it helps make the time go by faster.

I hope I can get another 30+ pounds off by June.  We're taking a vacation to Canada then.  I want to be in good enough shape to do some hiking.  And I have some clothes that I would like to fit back into by then.  Gee, what a great motivator for the next 10 weeks!

Hi Sybul and my OFF family:

It's chilly here too (or chilly for La.) but sunny today ... it stormed here too yesterday. Tried to watch the basketball game last night, but shortly after halftime, the feed from CBS went out on our local station and I had to switch to the computer. No great loss, it was a crappy game anyway. Man, Butler couldn't shoot to save its soul last night.

Did three loads of laundry, got out the garbage ... not much else. Would like to get out today and see a movie today maybe ... back and knees don't hurt too much yet. Hurt like hell last night, plus I went to bed with a headache and really was in a lot of pain last night.

I found a group of former high school people (not sure if they were all friends ... I was kinda bullied in high school by some people ... not all of these, though). Back then it wasn't called "bullying" but "teasing" ... well, it's the same thing ... I was fat and awkward and not in the "cool" group, but I was smart at least. This is a Facebook group of Guerin Girls.

Well, if I'm going to do anything, I need to get dressed and find out when the first movie is ... like to get the cheapest rate. Have a good day.
