RE: Past post about bees
I think the post I am refering to was on this site. If not just ignore. someone posted a picture of what they thought was a very large bee hive in a tree. They had taken it on or near their property and then later it was gone. I had the same experience at my mother's nursing home today. What I thought was true. This was a hive in transit. When the queen gets tired she lights somewhere and all the other bees in the hive land on and around her. what you saw was a clump of bees resting. Once the queen was readyt to go they all left. When she finds where she wants to settle she will land and they will begin to build a new hive. I have never seen this before but it was interesting to see.
