Thanks Jan.  I know it is going to be positive.  I just hope I have the courage to make it stick!!!   I am just nervous and the cutting of 75 to 80% of the stomach off is kinda scary to me.  Thank goodness ofhter than that, I think I am pretty healthy!!!   Well, enough of the belly aching (no pun intended)  ha ha, lets get on to where we are eating small and heathy and positive all the way!!!!  Thanks again

Hello Cheryl,

I imagine, having a 15 and 14 year old will keep you young or age you quicker at 56 (lol). . .

Welcome to our little corner of this OH universe, lots of wonderful folks on here and good information.

All your feelings are normal for where you are at, just be ready for the changes that come afterwards, things like sipping, taking your vitamins, moving and making the most of your first year post-op, as the body readjusts itself after about 2 years and that is when the things you did in the early part to change habits, will come into serious play.  This surgery will get you to where you want to be, but YOU will keep yourself there.  That being said, life post-WLS is wonderful, ability to do more, easily is priceless.

Looking forward to sharing in your journey.

Laureen

Hi Cheryl!

I am new here also.  Will turn 50 in Nov.  I had RNY Aug 2005.  Never made it to goal but I am ok with that.  I think I look fairly good.  Divorced. 2 kids. Dau 21 and son 23.  Going to Vegas this week cause son is getting married there.  He gave me  a g'dau almost 2 yrs ago.

My bro lives in Baton Rouge.  I know nothing about your surgery, so cant offer any help or suggestions.

Best of luck to you.

small world isn't it!!!   Baton Rouge is really a "small" town if you get down to it.  May know  your brother!! LOL

Have fun at the wedding --- as if one could not have fun in Vegas!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!  I am really feeling more comfortable.

well, here I am 4 months after surgery and doing fantastic.  I am down from 203 to 155 and feeling wonderful. Amazing how good you can feel and the surgery was not a biggy to me. In fact, the next day after surgery I was home and walked a mile in the neighborhood.  I have reached a plateau at this time but I am not worried.  If I am to loose more then I will.  Right at this moment, there is nothing I cannot eat but I have to decide if I am going to eat it.  Moderation is the answer to all.  LOVE  IT!!
