What's New on Sunday?

Good Morning OFF Family,
I am up early, and starting us off.  Busy day ahead...walking Utley, church, watching the Phillies game, AA meeting, and still knitting that baby blanket.

Went to a prayer meeting yesterday with some good friends who are missionaries.  I love that family.  The husband was best man at my wedding, and his parents were surrogate grandparents to my kids when they were little.  What a blessing.  Now his kids are growing up.

I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning Trish and all to follow:
I'm up, showered, and partially dressed.  Waiting to eat breakfast -- dumb pills make me wait for 30 min. before I can eat!  Then off to early church.   Going to have lunch with son and DIL at local mexican eatery.  Nothing much else, will probably try to finish our book club read (The Forgotten Garden), didn't think I'd like it but it's really good, but 550 pages long!!

Found a lump on my back last night about the size a a large grape....guess I need to have my PCP take a look at it.

Sun is shining this morning -- hope it stays that way.  May you all have a lovely day.

Hugs,
Pat R.

Morning all. Sober 201 days and so proud of me.
Sunshine, abundant, hot yes. Spent 2 hrs floating in cool pool waters, weigthless and reading a Sandra Brown book. Very nice.
Great gentle Yoda walk...he really listens to me and walks with a soft leash. Victoria Stillwell tips work with a little work. Very different when he walks with hubby...lets him "hunt" and pull.
Not much going on...Mass this morning, pool time later. Looking into bio material on Herman Cain. Like what this self made man has to say about America and his bid for president.
Daughter and Gkids went to local "drive in" movie last night, what fun..they were bundled up for sure. Son Angus posted photo of first Montana brown trout caught and released..very nice indeed.
Dinner last night horrible..don't ask, don't tell.
Would like to have humming birds come to RV. Need to speak with local Lowe's people or go online about whether or not hummers hang out in FL.
Enjoy the weekend. Be well and happy. Wishing for some Grannylew biscuits and gravy.

Monica-  Have been lurking around OFF for two weeks.  I'm 55 living in Maine in a cabin during the summer and in my RV as a volunteer in Texas during the winter.

You should get Ruby Throated Hummingbirds in Florida.  Just put up a feeder ( I by mine at walmart) and sit back and enjoy the fun.  I make my own syrup 1 cup sugar 3 cups of water being to boil and then cool.  I don't put in any food coloring the feeders are red enough to attract them.

I guess now that I've responded to one of these posts I'm becoming part of OFF.

Hi Cindi!  Glad you joined the fray!

I use the same recipe for my hummers and I don't use the red food coloring either.

Good mornin' ya'll.

Another gorgeous day in paradise. If you stay inside or like the humidity. It's really not that bad yet.

Watching Fox news and so upset that ONE person can get the ACLU and others sooooo riled up that a school may have to change the venue for their graduation. Isn't this a democracy?!?

Have to go to Han**** Fabrics today. Almost my favorite place to shop. My Sis called and needs something made to raise her arms up so she can use her mouse on top of her desk. She has terrible arthritis and has to have many things modified. If she puts her chair up higher, her knees don't fit under. So I am going to buy 4" foam, cover it with fleece long enough so it will wrap around and hook with velcro. If that doesn't work, I suggested lopping off the legs of the desk! I can just see her husband, taking 2" off all around, then having it uneven and having to go around again, and again, and again, til it is on the floor!! He isn't what I would call a "handy" man!

Monica, wowee, you are goin'. We are all so proud of you. So glad Angus is safe and happy.

Bacon is done, but grandson had prom last night. Local tradition is they rent a beach house and spend the night enjoying themselves, then come home and sleep all day, so I'm not sure we will see him today. But his parents and brother should be down soon.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hope the kids had fun at the prom. I remember mine, hubby I shared high school and my senior college prom. Glad he got his stateman to place him on east coast after Nam so he got to get home for my prom and graduation.
I know the story you are talking about on FOX, got me crazy mad that one person could spoil a tradition in NJ like that. Hearing the young people talk about this tradition being removed from their lives is so sad. What about what the majority wants anymore...too PC what is happening.
Seeing the fish on FB that Angus caught and the look on his face is very joyous.
Mass was wonderful, got me thinking about the little church on Camp Lejuene. Love that base. Also loved having morning coffee whating helicopter assualt drops practiced over and over. God Bless our Armed Forces.
Happy day finding the materials you need.

Good morning OFF family,

Sitting here waiting for Butch to call me from Saudi.  Our weekly phone call is just my lifeline sometimes!  We're not even halfway through thi****ch yet, so it's too soon for me to be wishing him home again.

I don't wish to offend anyone or mock anyone's religious beliefs, but the world didn't end yesterday at 6 p.m.!  Honestly, how some people can be so gullible is beyond me.  I believe the whole point of the rapture is that we are NOT supposed to know when it will occur.  Otherwise people could just sin and run rampant up until 5:45 p.m., then run get saved, and be all ready to go at 6:00 p.m.!!!  Crazy what some people will swallow.

I picked some green beans yesterday, but my heart's not in it.  I let them go a bit too long and they are past their peak.  I didn't really want to plant snaps this year, but hubby insisted.  All I really wanted to plant was pintos, since I eat so many beans now.  They should start coming off in the next day or so, and they will consume me for several days.  Picking them, shelling them, freezing them . . .

Made the BEST veggie salad last night.  I'll post the recipe in an OT here in a minute!  So delish and very WLS friendly!  I plan to just keep it in my frig all summer long.

Lost another pound today.  Closing in on that 50 pound milestone!  I can't wait to see that.  Oh, and another big milestone occured yesterday:  I can cut my own toenails again!  Only someone who has been unable to reach her own toes will appreciate the significance of that statement, right?  RIGHT!

So, need to get some breakfast before DH calls.  Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this beautiful day!  Love you all!
