Morning Trish and OFF family!!

Well I got all my laundry done yesterday except the bedspread because I ran out of quarters!! GRRRR AND nobody wanted to use the machines while I was using them!! Now that was a first!!! LOL

I see we are going to be having storms again today and tomorrow...just great!!! Not sure why we have to have so many of these nasty storms but seems mother nature is really pissed about something for sure!!! Just hope she gets it all out of her system before we leave for vacation on the 4th!!!

Working today 2-9 and then off thursday again. I really hate it when they break up my days off like this!!! I just don't get to relax enough to regroup!!!

Had Bandit out for potty walk last night and apartment manager was outside and she asked me if we would like one of the old tables from the pool for our patio. I told her I would ask Rick. He said he would look at them. So we now have a round table for our patio. Needs some cleaning but we have a table to eat at if we want to eat outside now. :-) Rick mentioned getting an umbrella for it and I said no. I had one of those before and all it did was collect bees and he is allergic to them so no on the umbrella! He said ok.

Took a ride last night to the dollar store for a few things and thought lets get an ice cream cone...haha the line at the parlor was a mile long!!! So off we went  to Dairy Queen...another long line...so we went looking for another stop...found a little ice cream parlor in downtown and loked for a place to park and walked to the parlor and got a small cone and walked back to car and enjoyed the cone. Very good. Tasted gritty to me though. I had the butter pecan sf. Oh well. It was cold and tasted good.

See gas is down to $3.69 today. Wonder how long that will last before they hike it up for the holiday travelers. Probably should have gotten some when I saw it this morning. I am at half a tank now. Oh well.

Well I am rambling on so will shut my trap...lol have a good day and be safe...thoughts and prayers for those that need them.

HUGS

Good morning Trish and everyone....

We had an awful storm last night. The neighbor lost their huge
tree. Just barely missed their house. We ended up with some branches down but otherwise okay.

Today will be a quiet day. Nothing much planned just a run to the grocery store later.

Wishing you all a really great day!!

Prayers for those in need...a few extra special ones too.

Love and hugs to all...connie d

Good mornin', ya'll.

I used to take Ambien to sleep, it stopped working and now I take doxepin. It works great.

YEARS ago our DIL's sister gave me a rose bush for Mother's Day. When we moved here, I dug it up, wrapped the root ball in plastic bags and boxed it up. The movers moved it to NC where we opened the box and replanted it. We have been here 6 years and it is still blooming great. I love that rose bush!!

Got my crown yesterday with no problems. I have another one to get done next month.

Then my DH and I went to SC so I could get a fill. Tuesday evenings are very busy there. They do botox and Juvederm and some diet program and it was packed.

Before we left our son was here having his salad and he said he would lock up when he left. When we got home there were dishes in the sink to indicate the grandsons had joined him for chips and dip before everyone left. When our DIL stopped by before work this morning she said "I don't understand why they come here to eat, we have stuff at home." This is said as she is eating waffles she had fixed here, even though she has Eggos at home. My DH and I don't even eat waffles, we don't drink soda, we don't eat chips and dip, we don't eat grilled cheese and tomato soup. But we have those things on hand for them. Which we are happy to do cause we at least get to see everyone and hear all their news. Our son has been referred to another doc. Between 2 of his lumbar vertibrae he has nothing, and they are rubbing together. He also has bulging disks between 2 or 3 of the other lumbar vert. He is a mess at 45!! The doc has given him pain pills, also Ambien to help him get some sleep. He refuses to take any of it!  Marines show no weakness!! What a crock. His Momma could give him a good spanking, but it wouldn't do any good!! He will be here for his salad for lunch soon. He goes into work at 5 AM, comes here for a salad and a nap from about 10 to 1, then back to wor****il 5.

Southern humidity has arrived!  I am not a fan!!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good Morning Trish, OFFr's,

It is a perfect day here today, temps are nice, no/low humidity and it's the middle of my work week, to make matters better Tony is coming down tonight to take me to dinner (he lives over 60 miles from me and works even further, so this is a special treat, in part because this week he is acting shop steward and so he has a relatively easy week of it, I'm very happy about seeing him mid-week!!!  I will make a lunchtime AA meeting here in Wilmington, as there is one 3 blocks from where I work and I still try to make a minimum of 4/5 meetings per week, helps keep my demons at bay. . .

Speaking of demons, a co-worker friend has joined the same gym that I belong to and which I can use another locale for, so we are going to begin meeting at 6 a.m. to get one another motivated, we are going to meet two mornings a week, I will have to figure out a schedule for myself for the one local to me and get my sorry butt there, as this regain is driving me nuts and plantar facitis or not, I need to move my body.  I will just make sure I wear a good supportive sneaker and wrap the foot if need be, but I cannot sit back and continue in this mode.

Well last night I went home and my peonies were in full bloom, what beautiful blooms they are and so fragrant, just love them, my faves, wish they were a flower that bloomed more than for one short time of year :(

Ok, that's it for me, prayers for those devastated mid-westerners suffering such great losses and best wishes for peace and strength for any of you facing serious life challenges. . .  Trish hope you find some sleep in your future, nothing too fun about not being able to sleep. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen - I love peonies -- mine are budded out but won't bloom for a few weeks yet.  They are the biggest plants I have ever seen -- over 4 ft. tall -- they really like where we planted them, I guess.  I have a red, a white and a pink - they smell wonderful.

Pat,

I planted them 3 years ago, they were my Mom's favorite flower and are mine and my oldest daughter's as well, so whenever they bloom I am reminded of the connection to them. . .  I have a white one and a raspberry colored one, which for some reason last year the raspberry one did not flower, it budded, but they died, this year is seems to be doing much better, though not as full as the other one and they are planted in the same bed, so not sure why. . .

Hugs, L

Laureen -- you do know that you must LET THE ANTS uncover the buds -- I knew a lady once that killed the ants on her plants and then wondered why they never bloomed!!  Some folks don't like peonies just for the fact that ants are drawn to them.   Your raspberry colored one sounds lovely.

I love peonies too and tried to grow them here several times. I guess the weather here is wrong for them.  Maybe if I buy a greenhouse?

Many people going north gave us vats of flowers to enjoy. We can't believe how fragrant they are. We have had peonies before, but never could imagine how good they could smell. Enjoying them very much, but we really have to water them 2 times a day with the FL sun. I have no green thumb, but hubby does.
Thanking you for being in my life...hugs

Good Morning All,

I'm working today so don't have much time. We have company coming tomorrow afternoon for a couple of days. My niece and her mother, my sister in law. . . She and my brother have been legally separated for about 8 years, but I've known and loved her since I was 10. Long story, they are still married but he has definitely moved on, significant "other" and all that.

My sis in law does NOT want a divorce and my brother doesn't pu**** He had been miserable for years and in this family we do nothing in a hurry so I know it was a well thought out decision on his part. I don't think I'd want to be attached, legally or otherwise, to someone who didn't want to be with me, but that's for her to figure out.

Anyway, looking forward to their visit. She has a "movement disorder" akin to Parkinson's so I'll be home on Friday to help her manuever around the house. We have a bedroom and bath on the main floor for her so she doesn't have to do any steps.

I bought a beef tenderloin on sale last week. Great recipe for a stuffed tenderloin and wild rice casserole. That plus salad, fresh local asparagus, and rolls for dinner. Friday I'd like to find somewhere to go where she can get around but not sure what or where. Perhaps somewhere local and outside if it's nice where they are playing music. She can't walk around much so many places are out.

Better get my rear in gear and out the door.  You all have a great day.
