Good Morning OFF Family,
I hope everyone is doing well.  I am up earlier than planned, and almost ready to get moving.  Thanks so much for the encouragement and support as I prayerfully consider relocating to Michigan.  You guys are the best.

Today, I am taking a frined who does not drive to a doctor's appointment, then I am heading to my doctor.  I resheduled my B12 shot from yesterday to today.  Then, I will head home to continue plugging away on the baby blanket.  I also have an AA meeting to get to, and I will also head to the gym for a swim.

I hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning, Patricia and everyone else.
I think I sounded REAL negative yesterday. While our youngest son has no relationship with us, we have great relationships with our daughter and older son. We lived down the street from our daughter and I babysat her kids till she was transferred to Portland. Even then, I kept a packed bag in the trunk in case she had a sick child and needed me. Then we moved to NC where we live down the street from our son. I still fly to Ptld a couple of times a year to take care of kids. My SIL is also a house husband, but goes on business trips with our daughter every now and then.
Today I am waiting at the Buick dealership getting a new dash put in the car. It will take 3 hours. They offered to drive me home. Our friend who works here offered to let me take his car if I want to go home or anywhere else. I have my iPad and my crochet and the chairs are comfy so I'm good. I'd just be sitting at home doing the same thing. Besides, if I am here I know they will stay at it, and not slip someone else in in the middle of my repair. I hope they clean the inside of the windshield though, it's smeary.
Gonna be another scorcher here and high humidity. Ugh!!! I'm happy to be inside anywhere.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Good morning & Happy Friday OFF friends!!  Today is already sunny & humid at this early hour of the day.  After such a long cold winter and spring....I'll not complain!!

Hubby is feeling some better today, other than his joints.  "Arthur" visits us way too often, especially since he's an uninvited guest.  My Fibro is acting us today too....we're thinking our joints don't like this humidity.  Well, some hot coffee, hot shower, pain pills and a nice comfy bed with the vibrator on will help relieve our aches...lol.

Our route was nice this morning.  DH is a camera buff and does such a good job in his photo talents.  I post them often on Facebook.  Anyway, this morning we...well he....got an awesome photo of the rising sun over our beach.  It's absolutely beautiful!!  If anyone would like to add me to your friends list, I'd love it!!  Inbox me your info.

Today is errand day...well this morning that is.  Got to get up from here and hop in the shower.  My sister, daughter & I have appts. for hair trims, then to the Bank, K-Mart, lunch @ Taco Bell for lunch then to the grocery store.  Oh, got to stop @ the pharmacy and pick up meds.  Got to brag on my Rachael, daughter that has Downs Syndrome.  She was awarded for being on the Principle's list all year long.  She was given a gift card to Taco Bell so that's one of the reasons we're going there today for lunch.....to help her celebrate.  Then this weekend we're taking her to the movies.  One of her favorite things to do.  LOVE my Rachael girl and SOOOO proud of her!!

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Hi Cindy,
Congratulations to Rachael for her award.  That is awesome.  My nephew is a Special Olympics athlete and I love when he succeeds at things so I can fuss over him, and build his confidence.  He is 28 years old and lives on his own, with almost daily overseeing by his Mom.

My Facebook name is Patricia Anne Reilly.  Friend me.  I would love to see the pics.  My son and daughter-in-law were performers in The Lost Colony on Roanoke Island a few years, with my daughter being the lead, Eleanor Dare.  I loved going to the Outer Banks those summers.  My sis-in-law used to rent a house on the beach in Rodanthe further down.

Have a good weekend.

Hugs,
Trish

Sober 206 days and so proud of me.
Glad you are doing well a Trish...wiggling them toes.
Grannylew, not too negative, letting feelings out hard...the hurt shows through.
We have found waiting for repairs at the shop benefical to getting it done with more attention. Especially when Diablo went along...most places felt sorry for the dog thank us having to wait.
Did well yesterday without my leg brace. 2 Yoda walks and 2 dog park runs. Hot tub works so well on the spots. Hubby hanging in there....I am not OCDing too much about his med's arriving. Working so hard on that. Got 3 bags from a local friend filled with books for me. I am so grateful to be able to read again and retain what I read. Many of my favorite authors in the pile. I don't like to take my ereader to the pool since I love to float and read. Many people comment about my reading in the pool. I tell them I haven't lost a book since Nov. Most kids are respectful of my reading...mindful of being polite. I move to accommadate the kids. Expecting HUGE crowd here at RV park. We were issued arm bands to wear all weekend. So many activities planned for entire family, kids, teens, and adults. The staff here is amazing....lots of "child" care on various age levels. Love that they have such fun things for the kids to do. Dive-in movies fun indeed. They have a teen area that is parent free and a parents/adults area also. Lots of live music for afternoons and evenings. Security tight too. I am impressed that they brought in and trained college aged locals to watch and interact with the little and bigger kids.
Hot here and humidity on the rise so we will be shutting down and putting AC on.
Wish we hear from Sue today..concerned. Hoping the weather clears for these storm hit areas. Such destruction hard to see. God grant them peace.
Be safe to all traveling. Enjoy Friday. Lets remember why we have a 3 day weekend. Memorial Day is somber, but hubby and I choose to celebrate our Armed Forces with positive love and support.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!

We have a busy weekend ahead with a friend's surprise 60th bd party on Saturday, a wedding reception on Sunday (we will just do a stop in quickly), and a picnic on Monday. I have to shop for some picnic supplies today after going to the gym.

Yesterday was a kind of big day for me. I went to my PCP to discuss some symptoms of depression. This was a long time coming but became very necessary as things had escalated to the point where it was concerning me on several fronts. He started me on a low dose antidepressant and will monitor it every 2 weeks, and also recommended that I check with insurance on some mental health support. This is, believe me, a VERY condensed version of it all but suffice it to say that I have had some concerns that I was not comfortable with....that just were not "me." And then there is the idea that for some time, I have tried to make resolutions every day to take care of these things and do better, without success. I am hopeful that the medication will do what is necessary but am just not much of a medication type person, so it is a hurdle that I have to make to trust it.

Trish, on the topic of moving to MIchigan, if I"m correct you are a Philly area girl from way back. My first and only big move of my life was from MIch to PA, 8 years ago. We are in central PA - Amish Country - so the culture shock was pretty strong for me as I adjusted to small town life, travelling much further to get to "anything", and far less diversity than in the metro Detroit/Ann Arbor area. I have adjusted of course but feel my MIchigan roots and always will. You do have an advantage in that you will be close to a Barix center (probably about 90 min. from Lansing area), and you can easily translate your activities with church, AA, and volunteer work to a new location. But don't be surprised if you miss home, even with family nearby. You will probably find yourself traveling the Turnpike the opposite direction every so often just to stay in touch with your home territory. Ironic huh? I do admire you for making the decision in a careful, thoughtful way.

I'll likely be on line some over the weekend, at least to lurk and see what everyone is doing. Have a wonderful Friday everyone. What a great group this is!

Taking the time to help ourselves is often difficult...been there as you know. Wishing you the guidance of listening to your inner voice and the peace that can come from it with or without the news we think we want. So many of the new medications can give great comfort and clarity to the issues in our lives. Just realizing that we "need" help is a major step.
Remember we are here for you. Know you are thought of daily..OFF is so ON.
Hugs and enjoy the busy weekend you have coming up.

Lynn,

Glad you had a discussion with your PCP and that he will be monitoring you while you navigate the waters of a depressed time.  I read a long time ago that depression is a natural thing when life changes in some way and that many people experience it and need help temporarily to get through it.  There is no shame in it, it is something I think we all experience from time to time.  I think because of my AA affiliations, which is a form of therapy, I manage to get by even when from time to time I get into one of the depressed states and if not, I do know that there are newer medications out there these days then the ones I tried years ago when I went through a period of depression that I just could not shake, the first one, Zoloff I had adverse reactions to, the 2nd one, Paxil, helped me, I was on it for about 4 months and then came off of it gradually as it is never good to just stop taking that sort of medication and since that period I've managed my depressed times through recovery tools.  Hoping that you find yourself back to what you are used to in short order. . .

Hugs, Laureen
