TGIF What's New?
Even though we have had dogs all our lives, we have learned so many great new training tips from watching Victoria Stillwell and Ceasar on Animal Planet. Our Yoda is 4, don't know his history since he is a rescue. Training him and US to his needs proves interesting almost each day. Some days he really lets us know what he needs, some days he or we are too stupid to read the signs. I accept that WE mus****ch him for clues. Using a harness has helped alot. Walking him is so important. Making him walk away from where he pulls to go a must. One word commands I use, hubby too verbose. But this morning on Yoda and my walk he was horrific. Lots of people here for holiday camping and he did not want to be gentle or listen. I had to really work him to not bark, not pull, not lunge, and pay attention to me. Our son Angus has a yr old boxer. He "became" a parent/dog expert overnight (not), but he did get a crate and this has helped in training the dog as Angus has a job and had to leave Mr.Bolo for hrs at end. He found wonderful chewies and a great vet. Good luck with the new one. Enjoy and snuggle, I know you will love him/her....jealous of pink nail paint.
Hi Annette,
Glad you took the pup home, and hope your Tom gets over it. I would take in another rescue dog for my Utley, but I don't have a yard, and I rent. I do try to take my baby to the dog park when I am up to the walk. He loves to romp and play with the other dogs.
Enjoy your new baby.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
