Afternoon Trish, OFFr's

I'm late to the party today, had some things to take care of here at work, figured I'd get my work done and then come and visit with you all. . .

Trish, hope your day goes well, stay cool.

Started my day early in the usual fashion, waking up with the birds chirping and Roxie crawling up to get her petting time in, she is just an absolute delight, just love her, feed her and play with her and all is well. . . made myself an eggbeater omlet with 2% cheese, put it in a container, got my gym clothes on and headed for it, even though I considered not going because I got a later start than I had wanted to, but I thought, ok, 35 minutes of exercise is more than no exercise and get there I did and glad I went, that makes 2 days in a row, I must get back in the habit because the scale just keeps moving in the wrong direction and I can't stand it and I know if I exercise it will halt it and eventually the weight will begin to go in the opposite direction.  Took a shower after the workout, dressed for work and that's where I am now until 5 p.m. as we start the summer hour Friday's, which means that several weeks this summer I get out at 3:30 and several weeks this summer I have to work 9 to 5 instead of my 8 to 4, after work, I may stop at a store here in Delaware and pick up a few items, then home where I will stay because it is very summerlike and I don't like the humidity at all. . . that's my story, hope to see you all over the weekend when I can. . .  not sure what I'll be doing, was supposed to drive up to NYC for dinner tomorrow because my God-Daughter is graduating college today, but not really feeling like taking that drive, I'll see what I decide, but I'm thinking not, I will see her at my nephew's HS graduation party in a month.

If I don't see you all, have a safe holiday and special wishes for all those who have family members in the Armed Forces.

Wishing those facing life challenges peace and strength to get through. . .

Laureen

Hi Trish and all,
I'm having a marvelous day. Got up at 6:30AM. Have started the day with water intake, all my morning meds and supplements and a high protein breakfast.

Had shrimp last night for the first time since surgery. I can't believe how long it took to chew it. I think it took me an hour to finish. lol.

I was trying to post earlier but my 20 pound cat ( not fat just a big, big cat) was helping me type. Didn't work so well but he enjoyed himself so it's all good. I might try to change my picture from Little Bit to one of Bela just so you can see how handsome he is.

I have a sleep study to be done on Monday night. I guess no holiday for those workers. I need a new machine so bad (bad or badly) and insurance doesn't cover it unless I have the sleep study. My machine is 12 years old and starting to hiss and sputter at me. Maybe that's why I'm not sleeping very well. It's a thought.

Everyone have a safe and fun holiday weekend.  As ever,     Mag

Hi Nan,
Little Bit is a ShihTzu as well. He is my angel. I've had 4 ShihTzu's over the last 20 years. They are wonderful like lap warmers in the winter. You have a house full of fur babies!!! I just have the one cat. Of course I think he is the most handsome cat ever.  Mag

I have found shrimp to be a major help even 7 yrs after WLS. I try and keep a bag of jumbo frozen cooked shrimp in freezer. I take out 6-9 put in cold water and let defrost. Drain and eat. Protein, protein, protein. This made such a difference after I had my PS. continued success. Good luck with study, hope you sleep lousy that night to help achieve a new insurance paid machine, yours is very old.

Good Morning Trish and everyone,
It's the last day of school and I can hear the children playing outside of my window. I will miss that sound for the next couple of months, but I will enjoy my freedom in sleeping late and taking time to relax. This has been a crazy year! I missed the first three months of school due to my fall and subsequent cancer scare. Last year at this time I was also recovering from my car accident- dive into the ditch! I am doing quite well physically  now- I might never be 100%, but I'm so much better.
Now I'm doing the Mom thing... I may have a place for her about 10 minutes from my school. It's a board and care home, but a very highly recommended site. With her limited funds she will have to share a room, but she can live with that if it's a good place. I'm excited to have this part of the puzzle settled.
My list of things to do is dwindling- WHEW.  Our weather here is very nice- 10-20 degrees colder than it is usually at this point in the year. Our heat will get here soon I'm sure. Ours is a dry heat so it is quite pleasant.
TGIF Indeed!

Hello Trish and everyone....

Trish ....I wish you the best on making your decision.

I am so behind today as Grace slept until  10:00....she has allergies and she needed the extra sleep. I kept very quiet as to not wake her up.
I needed to get the laundry started and the cleaning done.

I was planning on going to MN this weekend but changed my mind. Something keeps telling me not to go so I am listening. There is always so much traffic this weekend anyway. People drive so crazy trying to get up north to their cabins and such.
I will find something to do here.

Wishing you all a really great weekend....have fun and keep safe.

Prayers for so many in need.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

Good Friday, OFF friends,

The holiday weekend started for us with a bang last night.  Our Air Force son came home for the weekend and brought my fur grandchildren  (two abyssinian cats, Jesse and Rocky).  Our yellow lab who is about a year old thought play time was commencing.  All this about midnight.  The meowing, hissing, and barking had us all in an uproar.  When we finally went to bed, we put Dallas in his crate as usual.  He was certain that there was a party going on somewhere and he was missing it.  He barked and barked.  Usually, he just settles down nicely once he is in his crate, but not with the guest in the house.  I think he finally settled down about 2.  And of course we get up at 4:30.  I am glad that I am not working today, but poor hubby will be very tired.  Luckily he is off this weekend.

Anyway, we are glad to have number two son home.  I will have all three of men in my house this weekend, always wonderful.

On the WLS front, I am getting nervous.  I have fulfilled all the requirements so far and am just waiting now.  That is harder than jumping through the hoops.

                             Have a great weekend,

                                              Sharon
