Monica,
I'm so sorry your husband made that comment. I am glad you post your number of days sober. I celebrate and am encouraged by that wonderful number. Don't let anyone rob you of your joy.  Love to you and Yoda.   Mag

You should celebrate your sobriety; it's like me celebrating my weight loss (when I was losing ... now I'm gaining and have to try to get it back off).

Addiction recovery is a blessing.

Monica,

Don't let anybody rain on your parade. Don't shut up, don't keep yourself isolated, don't take crap from one single person in your life.

You keep counting the days - we are PROUD of you.

I'd better end before my language gets too bad.!!!!

I'm going to pm you now and tell you how I got secret revenge.

Kisses
Annette

Awwww, sweet Monica!  You give so much love and encouragement to everyone here.  I'm sorry you feel down.  I don't think you abuse FB or OFF.  And please do NOT keep your mouth shut!  I love to hear your daily thoughts.

I think it's fine for you to celebrate your sobriety days here.  Will you continue to do it forever?  Maybe not.  Or maybe so.  Today it feels right for you to do so, so DO IT!

Now, chin up!  We all think you are marvelous!

Oh Monica,
I am so sorry you were bummed after your husband's comment.  When I first got sober, and told my husband I had an AA anniversary, his comment was, "What's the big deal.  You're only doing what you should have been doing in the first place."  He never drank to begin with, so he just did not get it.

Celebrate all you need to.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning everyone

My brain as been in automatic mode for the last week or so.  I can't remember how much I have posted so if I repeat myself please excuse.

My mom is back at the nursing home and doing better.  Still not completely well and has a few weeks of PT to get through but should recover.  Her roommate went to the hospital a few days after she did and we were told yesterday that she didn't make it.
so my mom doesn't have a roommate at this time.

My brother and I are digging out my mom's paperwork dealing with her wishes and plans for her funeral.  She has a death policy that she purchased years ago.  We are going to go ahead an finalize her plans and prepay any addtional costs that will be involved so that when that day comes we don't have to make any decisions.  My sister and I are even talking about planning the order of service, with music etc so that will all be done.  I am seriously considering doing the same for me and my hubby so my kids don't have to deal with any of that.

My brother, SIL, sister and I were having dinner the other night and saying who would have thought we'd be sitting there talking about funerals and also about old classmates that are no longer with us.  The innocence of youth and even middle age.  You just don't think these things.  Now although I don't think of myself as old, I realize in some ways I am.  All my friends are dealing with death and dying of parents witch is expected, but so many are dealing with severe health issues and death and dying themselves.  Reality sucks sometimes.

On a brighter note I am manageing to stay focous on my food plan and the scale is dropping.  I need to loose another 10 pounds to get all my regain off once again.  I am tired of misplacing instead of losing this weight.  20 pounds and I will make my original goal.  Then an additional 25 will put me at the goal I thought I might want but not sure if it would be too much,  I don't want to get thinner and end up looking older.  We will see.

Gotta go

Good morning everyone,

This will be another super busy day for me.  Planning to leave for the lakehouse tomorrow, which means I have a million things to do today.  But that's okay.  I'll have plenty of time to do nothing but sing along with the radio on that 6-hour drive tomorrow.

I have been so busy the past couple of days that I've barely eaten anything, and yet the scale is UP 2 pounds this morning.  GRRRR.  I'm going to quit stepping on that damn thing every morning.  I swear I am.

Would like to respond to each and every one of you this morning, but no time for computer chat today.  Just know that love and hugs and prayers are being said for each one as I read your posts.

Love you all!

Vickie,

The darned scale almost sent me to a padded room and a huggy jacket. Every time I passed the bathroom I would pee, strip off clothes, even remove my rings and weigh in. Totally ridiculous, frustrating and time consuming.

Finally the scale went in the tra**** was a giant step for me. Scary too.

I now rely on a tape measure, following the correct eating plan and make sure to exercise regularly.

That might not work for you or anybody else, but it freed up hours of my day.

Oh, Annette!  ROFL! I do the same thing: pee, strip, weigh!  Okay, okay, I can see that might not be the healthiest thing to do.  I'll try to stop.  At least I am going to the lake house tomorrow and there is no scale there.  I'll be forced to take a break.

How's little Baxter today?
