GoodThursday morning to you
Good morning, OFF friends.
It is warm, but not hot here in southern California. It is pleasantly cool here in the morning. We are loving it, but know triple digits are coming.
I am doing pretty well on the better eating plan, mostly protein and some veggies. Lots of water. I am not getting to the gym as much as I should, but hope that will improve as some weight comes off and my body is not as cumbersome to drag around. Now, if I do much walking, my lower back and feet really protest.
Monica, I think your sobriety is awesome and I think it is great to be so proud of yourself. I facilitate a grief group for widows and people who have not walked in their shoes often make remarks that are tactless and ignorant. We refer to them as "DGI"s for doesn't get it. It has become a running joke in our group. So, when someone tells them that they should start dating or that they should get on with their lives, we just say DGI. I think maybe a lot of people are DGI about addiction and sobriety or abstinence.
Have a good day, all,
Sharon

Hi Margaret and my OFF family:
Got up really late; heard the phone ring (thought it was 8, but it was later); it was my friend Roxane. When I finally got up, it was already noon. I had a headache; still have a headache; took an Imitrex and not going away. It's a nasty one. Making me feel sick.
Made my chocolate zucchini cake yesterday; standing so long pooped me out, but it's done and in the fridge to bring to work. Hopefully, a shower will get rid of this headache.
I was happy yesterday; my White Sox swept the Red Sox ... maybe they'll start playing up to their payroll.
Anyway, I need to get into the shower. Have a good one.

I am late posting for a lot of reasons. Not having a terrific day so far. I had to get a tooth pulled this morning. Then, I drove to the hospital I will be working at to fill out a ton of paperwork. Had to get my fingerprints done, and the computer kept rejecting my prints, saying I did not do them right. It was weird. The girl who was helping me said I will get a letter stating if they passed, or if they need to be redone.
I am in pain with the tooth being pulled, and already had a sinus headache to begin with.
Sorry I am late.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Hi Margaret and all my OFF friends,
Monica keep counting. Everyone struggling to care for a parent, God be with you. I don't post that often although I am lurking. I just don't want to bore you all with my cancer which now is a big part of my life. I am doing well though.
My son's job had a set back but thankfully they all still have jobs. He works for a boatworks that builds their own brand of boats, restores wooden boats (Chriscraft, Harwood, Adirondack Guide Boats, etc.) and they winterize and store over 200 boats. They own several farms with barns where they store the boats. Their main place of business which was in a huge 4 level barn burned to the ground in the wee hours of the morning last Saturday. They lost eight boats they were currently working on. One boat my son had worked on all winter and had $100,000 worth of work done on it. Another one was an Adirondack Guide Boat they were restoring for a museum that was only one of four in existence. Now there are only three so that was a big historical loss. They lost their upholstery shop, their mechanics shop, their woodworking shop, their finish shop, their offices, their computers, their stockroom filled with parts and engines, etc. It was a lightning strike that caused the fire. They even lost a brand new tractor. But seeing as they had 200 boats stored elsewhere to summerize and get into the water for people, they still have lots of work to do. They are setting up what they need for that and rebuilding. The insurance adjusters think it will be close to 3 million worth of loss. Thank God no one was there and got hurt.
Tomorrow morning I have another chemo session but it won't be so bad because it's only one chemo drug. Last week it was two and made me very sick.
Tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. I'm going to a Red Hat's outing to a mini golf place. I need to get out more. I'm not liking wearing a wig anymore because it is too hot. My hair is starting to grow back in so I've gone to wearing summer hats and just letting what shows, show. My hair is all white now, some of it naturally and some because of the chemo. No die in it because with chemo in your hair you can end up with a pretty funky color. LOL.
I did hire a young scout to come help me get my gardens cleaned out and planted so I have a lot of lovely flowers to look at. The weather has been beautiful.
Hugs to everyone,
Bev
