Good morning Bev and all,
If you were to walk into my living room, you would think it had been ransacked by vandals. Not vandals, a 3 pound ball of energy named Baxter.
I convinced Tom that crate training is a must for this puppy. At this point, the cats hide in it so he can't find them.
Since 9 months after WLS I have had 3 hernia surgeries. The last time, mesh was put in there to hold me together. Above the mesh I have developed a cluster of hernias. Lately they have been hurting. The pain goes away if I lay down and gently push them in place. Too much going on to be stuck in the hospital for surgery again. Plus, it really really hurts when repaired with mesh.
Time for breakfast then house chores. You have a relaxing and fun weekend.

Hi Annette,
I have a small hernia too. I only know that because it was on the PET scan report that I got a copy of. None of the doctors brought it up??? I hope that you can get some resolutions for yours that don't involve pain. Sorry you are hurting now.
Young dogs are always rambunctious. Over the years we made sure there were a lot of chew toys. Our first dog we were not as savvy and she chewed the rungs of our dining room chairs and the corners of the seats of the same chairs. And corners of the pillows on the couch. Ouch. The crate sounds like a good solution.
My sister's dog loves his crate. She partitioned it off so there was only enough room to lay down comfortably. This prevents them from picking a spot to do their business in. As he got bigger she gave him more space and now he really feels as though his crate is his safety/security zone. She made getting in his crate no big deal by praise and offering him a treat. Now he trots right in there. If he's afraid or not feeling good, he puts himself in the crate.
Feel better soon and take it easy.
Hugs,
Bev

Good morning Bev, Trish, Monica, and alll....morning Nettie...
I've been absent. My little "Liam" has been in the hospital. He was finally, after several weeks of running to the pediatritians office, diagnosed with pyloric stenosis...basically something similar to a bowel obstruction. Guthrie was going to do surgery and at the very last minute said no. We were sent to Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA. Long trip but WONDERFUL hospital. We just got home last night. Liam is doing great now, but as adults we are exhausted. IT was a 3 hour trip one way for us.
So today I will need to catch up with homework, (I missed 2 days of school) , housework and shopping, and my banking. Guess I"d better get busy.
Prayers and hugs to all..

Bev, it's good to see you posting. Thinking of you often, wondering how you're feeling. It looks like you're keeping your mind occupied with things to do around the house. I hope you're feeling OK. I know the chemo can do a real job on you, had a close family member go through it not long ago.
Please continue to let us know how you're doing. Good thoughts remain with you.

Thanks Candy,
I have my good days and my bad days. So I try to get as much done as I can on the good days. It helps that I've realized I can't do it by myself and getting help is a big relief. It's more the head stuff that does a number on me. Need to keep my mind busy so it doesn't wander of to the cancer thoughts.
Hugs,
Bev

Good morning OFF ladies-
This is my first post to the thread although I have been lurking for several weeks reading everything. I haven't had my WLS surgery yet I'm scheduled for my final NUT appointment on Monday and the following week I'll meet with the surgeon for the first time. Hope to have my surgery in late July.
I'm hoping to have a vertical sleeve gastrectomy.
I'm 55, retired and live in Maine during the summers. In the winter I go to Texas and live in my RV while volunteering at a wildlife refuge. I'm down to one cat now lost one in December. Sylvester is a tuxedo cat and I lovingly call him Doofus! He spent most of his first year of life at the animal shelter so he doesn't know how to be a cat. He follows me around like a dog and likes to cuddle which is unusual for a cat.
It's still cool here in northern Maine. I wanted to turn the heat back on last night but stuck with a small electric heater in the bedroom. I'm still sleeping on flannel sheets. I don't do hot and humid well thus the reason for spending my summers in Maine. I have a cabin on the edge of a lake. It's really beautiful.
Bev hope your chemo is going okay. I use a RentaTeenager to help me in the yard and with heavy lifting. Unfortunately he's in college now and has a summer job so I don't know how much help I'll get this summer. I'll have to look into boy scouts as a possible source for help as I have some lifting projects to do.
Monica congrats on the sobriety. You should be very proud of your accomplishment!
Kristi hello to you. I assume that today is probably like the movie ground hog day. Rentals turning over and you get to do it all over again. Sounds like you folks in NC might be having some cooler weather.
I am battling the local squirrel population at the moment. One or two of them chewed through the screening on my porch. Bumps in the night woke me up. Replaced two of the panels on Tuesday which was not pleasant because I had to get on my hands and knees which is not easy to do. Came back from chiropracter on Tuesday afternoon and found two more squirrels on the porch. Found the entrance holes and temporarily covered them. Tuesday night I'm watching TV and theres another squirrel. This time it was a flying squirrel! Turned out the little buggers had chewed two new holes in the replaced panel. So Sylvester likes to go on the porch and play with his new friends. We had one day of peace and then yesterday another invasion. I actually watched one of the squirrels picks up one of Sylvester''s toy balls and carry it in it's mouth! Found the entrance point (old hole) and watched the little &_*)&) chew a new hole. So I have declared war on the squirrels!
So that's all from Maine. Hope to join your group more often.

Hi Cindi,
Can't wait until you sit beside us on the Loser's Bench. We are shining up a spot for you.
My cancer is doing as well as can be expected. Thanks for the thoughts.
It sounds like you need have-a-heart traps and lots of relocation trips. Any chance you can cover the bottom of the screening with plexiglass on the outside bottom? Maybe if they had to do some aerobatics to make the holes they wouldn't be successful.
I spent a lot of years as a volunteer leader with scouting. So I know those boys are motivated, polite, honest and hardworking. And it being a paid position, makes them even more so.
Hugs,
Bev
