It's Saturday, What's new with You?
Juliette also follows me around like a dog. I call it imprinting, like a baby duckling ... not long after I got her, she started following me around the house. She decided I was her mommy.
Quiet day. Laundry, bill paying, fun stuff like that. Got 5 hours sleep last night, No tossing and turning. I'm going to try Tylenol PM and see if that works for me.
Trying to talk myself into going to the pool again. There are so many exercise classes it's almost impossible to find a time in the morning that is free swim. The pool is 1/2 mile from my house. One of my goals is to be able to walk there instead of driving. It's nice to swim in the evenings, but a little scary to be there by myself. Crime in our little burg is increasing.
Everyone have a lovely day. Mag
That's my biggest downfall is getting enough exercise. I have no routine. Housework and gardening is about all I do when I'm up to it.
I have a good friend who had gastric bypass (I have lap band) and she faithfully goes to the pool to swim and she gets in a blow-up kayak and paddles in the local lakes.
Drive to the pool, it will be easier to get to the stage where you can walk distances once your muscles are stronger from swimming and you have more weight off.
Getting the weight off made a real big difference in my being able to walk.
Good Luck.
Hugs,
Bev
Good Morning Everyone!
Bev. it's so good to hear from you. I know life is pretty tough for you on many days right now. You have a great attitude and I am so happy that you continue to enjoy life on those days that allow you to feel well. Attitude is a big part of it isn't it? I have days when I wake just kind of wanting to have a pitty party. If I remain in that state of mind the day will be miserable. If I somehow manage to get off of that pitty pot I will find something to rejoice about. As our spring has finally arrived my garden gives me much to smile about. I love digging in the dirt and watching my perennial garden come back to life.
We have one more week of school to go. Mike is going to our daughter's tomorrow to get his grandbaby fix (it's been 2 weeks). He'll paint some outbuildings if it doesn't rain. This will be our last week of school and I'm sure I'll sub every day, but. . . . I plan to take in a movie or two, do very little cooking, meet a friend for dinner, enjoy my garden, maybe even read a book.
I did manage to get to the gym 3 days last week. I overdid on one day. The cardio theatre was showing "Now and Forever." No one I knew in it, but it was delightful. Kind of a "Johnny Depp type part" about . . . I won't even try to describe it. Definitely chick flick but I really enjoyed it to the point of spending the whole movie on the eliptical, treadmill and recumbent bike! My shins and butt are still so sore!
Today we go to a cousin's wedding at a resort along the Yakima River. It's supposed to get to about 80 so should be a lovely day for an outside wedding. That's about it from Kennewick, WA. Hope you world is treating you well. Take care!

Problems with my toe again (or still) it is still not healing correctly and doc. wants to operate on it.....take out a joint and shorten the toe and put a pin in it. He also wants to pin two other toes that are bent over and very crooked. I hate the thoughts of another surgery, but the other foot surgery was done with a spinal which is much better than gen. anesthetic. If I weren't still considered diabetic (controlled by diet) I wouldn't worry, but he's afraid I will get into big problems if we don't take care of this toe. I haven't decided what to do yet.
Cleaned house this morning - cleaning angel had to go out of town so I had to do it myself, including mopping the floors which is really hard on me.....but I got it done.
Going to a piano recital after bit, for one of my excellent students. I retired from teaching 2 yrs ago, she has gone on to another teacher and is a wonderful pianist....so looking forward to hearing her play again and feel a bit proud!
Hot here today and a bit humid -- have my a/c on.
Good to hear from you Bev -- think of you a lot and pray for you.
Everyone have a good weekend.

Done! Your Ticker:
Hi Pat,
Diabetes can do a job on your extremities. Best to be careful. I'm sorry it's causing you pain and problems.
I mopped the bathroom floor this morning too. Son just called and he is coming from upstate NY to pick up some equipment being donated to his business. So he will be our guest tonite and tomorrow. So I best get my butt moving and prepare the guest room and pick up a little more around here. Thankfully the steroids from the chemo yesterday keep me hyper until they wear off tomorrow. So they give me the energy.
Thanks for the prayers.
Hugs,
Bev
It's beautiful here and my perennials are all blooming. I planted pansies, yellow marigolds, petunias, impatiens. I also planted giant sunflower seeds and they are about six inches high now. I take great pleasure at looking at them from our deck and screened in porch. We have turkeys and rabbits that visit under our bird feeder and a myriad of birds. I have yet to see a hummingbird at the feeder we put up this year, I'll have to be patient.
I have nieces and friends that are all teachers and I know they talk about taking the last of their sick days and vacation days toward the end of the year so I agree you will be busy. We had a lot of snow days this year so they don't get out until the 21st.
I hesitate to post on here because I think I get boring with my cancer talk.
I hope your muscles start to forgive you for what you put them through for a movie. LOL.
Hugs,
Bev

So good to see you on here today, Bev. We all think of you and wonder how you are.
I woke up today to the sound of drip, drip, drip, from the ceiling. At first I thought it was from the air conditioner in my apartment, but nope, it was coming from the living room ceiling. So I called the apartment office, left an emergency message for maintenace (I have to admit, I love being able to call and have someone do it for me, rather than worry about how I'm going to pay for this). About 10 minutes later, Alvin came over. He's about our age, nice Southern gentleman. I told him I thought it was coming from the apt. above, but it didn't seem as if anyone was home (I knocked, no one answered). So he checked things out, went upstairs and said their A/C was blocked, fixed things up and now things have quit dripping. He said to remind the office to fix the ceiling here on Monday. Luckily, I caught it early or the ceiling might have fallen down. That wouldn't have been good.
It's been hot hot hot here ... just hit 100, heat index of 108, so the A/C is running a lot. I am on the budget plan for the power co. , so my bills are always the same now, thank God.
My chocolate zucchini cake was a hit at work; two days and it was almost all gone. Just a little left that I brought home (and I only had two little pieces. It was yummy.
Well, that's about it. Have a good one.
Bev ....I have to say I am very happy to see you start the thread today. I continue to pray for you and keep you in my thoughts. You are missed when you can't be here to join in with the rest of us. Hope we can see you a little more often. Glad you are doing okay and the chemo is helping.
Bev....as you may know my grandson Nic (w/cancer) just graduated from High School a couple weeks ago. WOW are we proud of him!! He is doing really great. His cancer is inactive at the time....we pray it is so for a long, long time.
Also....I have moved to Iowa to live with my daughter, Nic and Grace.. This is where the good Lord wanted me so here I am. It overall has been very, very good. I am lonesome for my MN friends especially my best friend Pam. I take care of Grace (4 years old) while my daughter works full-time now. She is going through a divorce and things are difficult but we are getting through it. I moved here the end of February.
Everyone....the weather here is beautiful today. I went running around town as it is the city wide garage sale day. Didn't find a lot...don't need a lot....but I enjoyed my time alone.
I had a date planned for tonight but he had to cancel because of a family emergency. He will be having his grandsons for the weekend. We are going to get together for dinner some time this week instead. No big rush....I will be here for a long time!!
Wishing you all a really great weekend.
Prayer for those in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d
