Yes, I borrowed a pair of pliers from my landlady and got it changed.  Now, I am having trouble because something happens with my bobbin that gets the thread all bunched up from the bottom, and the needle jams.  Not sure why it keeps happening, but I only need one more seam and then the rest is hand sewing the snaps and buttons on.  Argh!  This did not happen when I made the pillowcase dress for my granddaughter.  Did you see it on Facebook?  As soon as I am done these coveralls, I will take a pic and post it.  I bought more fabric to make more dresses like that one for Isabel.

I am taking a break for now.  Then, back to finish that one seam and then the handsewing.

Thanks for asking.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Everyone.

Today is my first day back at work (had surgery on 05/24/2011).  Only going back part-time for this week (4 hours per day), then back to full-time next Monday.

Weather is beautiful and I can't wait until my restriction period is over so that I can go back to the things I enjoy - water aerobics and riding my motorcycle.

Hope everyone was a wonderful day.

Hi Margaret and my OFF family:

Up early today as my cleaning fairy was here. So Juliette was scared by the vacuum cleaner but now her excess fur is gone. And so is some extra chocolate zucchini cake (I love to give it away to people so I won't eat it).

Hope all goes well with the cardio appt. I had a drug-induced stress test pre-RNY because I had bad knees (and still do). The only problem I had with the drug-induced test was it made my mouth so dry, afterward I drank nearly two pitchers of water at Red Lobster.

Anyway, by getting up so early, I'm tired now. I hope I can take a nap before I go to work.

Not much else going on here. Work later this afternoon and for the next three days. Have a good day.

Eileen, if you don't quit talking about that chocolate zucchini cake . . . !    LOL!

(Glad everyone else is enjoying it.  I'll just have a virtual piece of it, okay?)

My pups run from the vacuum cleaner, too.

Progress report:  Got 2 of my Adirondack chairs and 1 side table painted with a new coat of shiny, glossy poly before it got too hot here.  That last 15 minutes or so, the poly was almost drying on the brush!  So that's it for the outside a painting today.

If I knew how to add pictures to this post, I would attach some "before" pictures of the guest bath and the pink tile shower to this post.  Since I don't know how to do that, I'll just post them on my profile page.  You can look at them there if you want to.  You'll also see the absolutely ATROCIOUS wallpaper that's up in that little bath right now.  UGH!  We are going to knock out a closet in one of the spare bedrooms so we can expand the size of this bath and make it much more comfortable and functional for guests.  I'll take pictures of our progress and post them.  This is fun!

Wow Margaret! Three pages of posts already! You all know how much I like to see lots of pages! I'm sitting here typing as I love my two doggies... they have really missed their mommy!  My Mom was released from the rehab hospital on Friday, so I have been living at her house for a few days. My brother is staying a couple of days now, and I go back on Tuesday night. This is quite the commitment- I am on summer vacation so I decided to keep Mom at her house to see if she can go back to living independently with help. I'm hopeful and confident one minute and feeling hopeless the next. The kitchen is so dirty- I'm washing and clearing out everything. After the cabinets are emptied I'm hiring Merry Maids to do the deep cleaning in there. I also have to get an exterminator for mice, spiders, and roaches (I think that's what I saw- not sure- grossed out!). I am training my Mom to dress herself, change her Depends herself, and use her recliner by herself. So far she is doing well... except for a mishap yesterday just before I left... too many prunes is a BAD idea....luckily THAT happened before my brother took over- that would make him run for the hills I'm afraid. The hardest part is that my Mom has a cracked vertabrae from the fall... I do know how much that hurts. Getting up is hard. If we can get that healed she will do much better. Anyway, this is my life right now. It's good and bad if you know what I mean. It is quality time and my Mom is nearing the end of her life. She is physically quite healthy, but her brain is really going downhill. Part of this process is a saying goodbye thing I think. She may live to be 100 but her brain will not... this is happening now. Some of you really understand I know. I am home for a day and a half so I'm really taking it easy. My house really needs some attention but I don't have the energy... it will wait. My tasks for today- go to the doctor for my B-12 shot and take Roxy to the vet to get her staples removed. Sounds like a really easy day to me!

OFF Folks-

Really late posting today cuz I had to drive 80 miles for my last NUT appointment.  12 lbs gone from last visit.  I was delighted.  I'm still nervous that they will "reject" me from the program.  The surgeon I have chosen very carefully manages her statistics and outcomes.  I'll know more next week after meeting her for the first time.

Margaret-  Hope your stress test went okay.  I have one done every 5 years and in 09 I had a cardiac catheterization that showed nothing.  So I'm not worried about that hurdle before surgery.  As you say though, knowledge is power and hopefully they'll point you in the right direction.

OBXLADY-  Hope your husbands MRI went well.  I had one many years ago that freaked me out.  They didn't explain that it was a torpedo tube!  Now I know to ask for the Xanax or Valium before the test.

Mag-  I wondered if the fires in AZ were affecting your area.  Let me just say that I have worked with USFWS fire fighters and they are great at what they do.  We had a small fire about a mile from my home last year.  Fortunately the Maine Forest Service and USFWS got control of it before the winds picked up and caused it to spread.  We were in a drought last year.

Vickie P - If CLR, Kaboom and vinegar don't take the lime off you may want to consider Muriatic Acid.  Just use safety glasses, rubber gloves and caution when applying.  Lots of running water too.  Know about that Texas water as I have had to flush out my RV ho****er tank several times in the past few years.  I now pour at least two gallons of vinegar into my water tank several hours before flushing.

Trish-  Sure you got the needle put back in the way it's supposed to go.  Sounds like the needle may be backwards of in wrong rather than a bobbin.  Know how you feel though as I am a quilter and it never fails that something goes wrong just as I am finishing a quilt project.  Eerie too cuz today I bought sewing machine needles at Joanns.

Well that's all from Maine ladies.  I think one of the damned squirrels has gotten on the porch again.  Have to go investigate!  More tomorrow.
