Good morning, everyone! I’m just dropping in a few minutes to say hello!  Haven’t been around for a few weeks…My Health & Wellness Show was a success and the vendors are excited and ready for next time. We made a profit of almost $3000.00 which we (our BPW CLUB) will use to support our foster daughter and her family & village with purchases of goats & chickens as well as personal need supplies. Also we will be using funds for holding workshops and special events to teach self-empowerment and leadership to women. With the show following so quickly after the death of my Mom, I ran myself into the ground…yup, I tend to do that, and I contracted CELLULITIS again....this time in my better leg. This same strepto****us germ was what crippled both my legs back in 1997.  Luckily I spotted it early.  I’m on my second round of antibiotics…I’m allergic to penicillin so they couldn’t use that.  However, this antibiotic is strong enough to gift me with the usual “special” extras that strong antibiotics tend to give. Yogurt has become a major staple for me. Yesterday, Friday, we finally held Mom’s burial.  Dad’s gravesite has been so saturated with all the weeks of heavy rain so that we simply had to wait until the area dried up so Tuesday just passed, we were at the cemetery, pronounced the area dry enough and got it all together.   It was just what Mom wanted.., no service, just a simple family gathering and to be buried with Dad. I bought roses of reds, pinks and yellows…Mom’s two great grand sons carried the water-filled container of roses and handed out roses to everyone to place on the grave.  My older son Danny, and his wife Amy, attended as did Derek and his ladyfriend, Kathy, and John & myself. Derek, as the youngest grandchild, was in charge of Mom’s urn & later placed the urn into the grave. Although my natural sister Susan has been in the loop the whole time, she never acknowledged Mom’s death or my invitations. She did NOT attend her own mother’s funeral. Neither did her son who also did not respond to my emails.

Only my sister’s oldest daughter, Karen, and her two sons Nik (12) and Alex(10)  came to say goodbye to Mom. Her sister Heather was out of town for work so THAT I understood.

However,  I cannot understand how someone can hold so tightly to hatred and anger for 60 years as my natural sister Susan.!  I did provide her daughter, Karen, with enough bookmark memorials and prayer cards for my sister and her son, also sent a copy of the eulogy that I'd written for the funeral but I’m sure they will all just be tossed into the garbage by my sister. My adopted sister lives in Quebec and did not attend…didn’t have enough $$...typical excuse tho had she stopped smoking, drinking and drugging for a week, she could well have afforded to attend.  C’est la vie! After the funeral, I invited them all to an early supper at Mom & Dad’s favourite restaurant where we all had a pleasant meal and in honour of my parent’s sweet tooth, we all chose a different flavour of their homemade, very famous pie. I had two bites then passed it over to JB who happily took over. I’m re-reading this and thinking I really shouldn’t get into all these details. I do not feel responsible for my sister & her family’s behavior and have decided that I will not carry any anger towards her but I do not have to deal with her hatred anymore…just one more time, when the estate has to be settled which will take a good year…we have to wait til income tax & probate is over. Then we will see if her hatred is flexible enough to accept Mom’s money!

In a week or two, we will put all the stuff leftover from Mom out on the front lawn and her family can come and take what they want. Mom wanted myself and my 2 sisters to divvy everything up. Let the vultures feed.

I'm headed up to bed, Derek will be home in 3 hours from his BOUNCER job at the club but Im tired and ready for bed.  On the morning, I will sit outside on the porch and wash nineteen baby "fur faces"...some people are coming later in the afternoon to adopt a few. And next week, a lady is coming to adopt my TimBits...the tiny tortie. I put the propective owners thru the wringer, making them promise to neuter and vaccinate the babies and to kep them as inside pets or I'm coming and taking them back!  lol.

Tomorrow is a new day!

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

I saw your photos on FB of your event ... you certainly had a lot of tables and people there. Good for you! That's a lot to organize. I can understand why you had issues after. Take care of yourself.

Too bad families don't get along after a death in the family. I have told my mom many times I don't care if I get anything in the will. She has helped me out numerous times while she has been alive, and I've been unable to pay her back. If I don't get anything, that's fine. She's been scrimping and saving to be able to leave us something in her will; meanwhile, her house needs major work (like windows). My brothers told her to get the house fixed and forget about leaving the money for us.

I got into work last night with a big surprise: Two people were out (one was sick; the other had a family emergency). So assignments got shuffled and I was stuck doing Monroe sports on a Saturday night again. This time wasn't too bad; the person in charge got stuff out early and since I was there early, too, I got done early and without any issues. It had to be the easiest Saturday night I've ever had.

Which was good, because I've been battling sinus headaches or something ... my eyes are all itchy. Must be the crape myrtles or something. It was up over 100 degrees yesterday and is only down to 84 at 1:36 a.m.

Well, I'm about ready for bed, too. Have a good one.

Good mornin', ya'll.
Yesterdays BBQ at our son's was a success. I had hoped someone would bring macaroni salad and they did, but store bought. Yuk! I'm the only one in our family who likes it so I never make it.
Some friends that were stationed here when we first moved here had been transferred north and are now stationed here again. They came and, oh my, the younger daughter has turned into a real beauty! She used to be tall and gangly and wore coke bottle glasses. Now she wears contacts, and is the perfect height. I heard our OR grandson and our NC grandson discussing her. It was WAY too hot for my DH and I to stay too long. But we did manage to eat some, and my DH got to swap sea stories with some of the guys!
Got up this morning with only 2 boys asleep in my living room. My DH got up at 5 and said they were both still awake!!
Nothing really planned for today. We will all go to lunch (or dinner) at Logan's for Father's Day. That is his favorite place. Of, course, that depends on if/when everyone wakes up.
I hope everyone has a fantabulous Father's Day.

Good morning all!  And Happy Father's Day to all the DH's out there!

Nancy, I was glad to hear from you this morning.  I've been wondering about you.  I'm glad you were finally able to lay your sweet mom to rest.  I can't imagine the strain that has been on you.  I'm sorry for your family that they are not able to share with you.  They will regret it one day.  What goes around . . .

Well, yesterday was a HUGE shopping day for us.  We spent four--yes, FOUR--hours in Home Depot buying stuff for the new bathroom.  It just takes a long time to stand there and look at stuff and imagine it in your particular setting and then try to coordinate it all together.  I had hubby pull a drawer out of the vanity on display so I could pu**** around in my shopping cart!  I needed to match colors and hardware, etc.  Took awhile, but I think I'm pleased with what we bought.  Of course, it's all in boxes stacked up in the entry hall right now, so I can't really look at it all yet.  But I think I like it.  I sure don't want to have to take any of it back!

We bought a new vanity, a vanity top, a mirror, a wall cabinet (had to get it from the kitchen side, since the bath cabinets were all too small), a new potty, matching faucets, hardware, towel holders, etc., a new light fixture, a bathroom heater/vent, and all that plumbing and electrical stuff that goes with it.  We still have to get the floor tile, wainscoating, chair rail and sheet rock.  And of course, the paint!

So I bought more samples of pink paints yesterday.  I'm leaning towards a new color called "shrimp toast" which is kind of a peachy salmon pink.  Or I still like "ballet slipper pink".  Ballet slipper has a slight tan undertone.  I think it works will with the pecan sandie color.

Today we are going into San Antone to a Father's Day brunch at our daughter's house.  The other set of parents will be there, too, so it will be a nice gathering.  Not so sure what I think of daughter's live in boyfriend, but I really do like his parents, so it will be fine.  Plus we get to play with Benny today, so that's always a plus! Then when we come home, we hope to put the boat in the lake and go for a boat ride and swim this afternoon.  Don't know if that will work out or not.  It's awfully windy this morning.  There might be wind advisaries out on the lake.

One of my mommy deer has decided she trusts me enough to eat out of my hand!  Oh, it's so sweet!  I posted pics on FB if you want to see her.  She's the one nursing twins, and bless her heart, she is ALWAYS hungry!  She'll come up into the back yard and stand there and wait for me to come out and feed her a treat.  Last night I gave her some cantaloupe and strawberries.  She said it was yummy.

Well, time to hop in the shower and get ready for our brunch.  Hope everyone has a fantabulous day, as Grammylew always says!

Love you all!

Good morning everyone & Happy Father's Day to the DH's & Dad's!!

Nancy, I feel like I need to go nap after reading of your busyness.  I wish I could have 1/2 of  your energy!!  I'm so glad you finally got to lay your Mother to rest.  You did your part, now sit back and let the others "duke" it out.

Vickie, I just had to go to your FB page and see the Deer eating out of your hand.  Totally precious and amazing!!  My DH & I see Deer daily on our early morning route and I never tire of watching them.  They are such amazing animals.  God bless you for feeding the little Mommie.  Good luck on your remodeling job.  Also, I requested you as a FB fan.

Eileen, I'm so glad  your night went well @ work.  I know you speak of that particular sports page as being a challenge most of the time so this time I'm glad it went smoothly.

Grammylew, I love BBQ but it's lots of work.  Usually, I'm stuffed far more than I should be and I'm tired from the preparation, fun, clean up and add the heat to it and I'm ready for a nap!!

My DH celebrated his 59th BD this past Friday and he wanted to go see a Disney movie and pizza hut for dinner. lol.....he chose this because of my special needs daughter.  He said he wanted the evening to be a fun family evening.  I thought that was the most precious thing for him to think of her.  He is a good man.  Our 1st year anniversary is coming up on us.  So we're still newlyweds

Today is grilling out later this evening for Father's Day.  Today was coming in from work and having a nice breakfast.  Just showered and then heading to bed.

I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed day!!!!

Good Afternoon Nancy,
I am late in posting today.  I fell asleep in the rocking chair and then went back to bed.  I stayed up late to watch the Phillies game, which ended around 1:00 a.m., because they are on the West Coast, and I am in Eastern Daylight Time.

My grandchildren are in town, and I got to see them last night.  They stay at my ex's house, because he has enough room for everyone, and I don't.

I did get a call from my landlord last night, asking if I still wanted the downstairs apartment.  He and his wife live there now, and I would prefer to be on the ground floor, for my back and legs.  Plus, the tenant in the downstairs apartment has use of the basement and yard.  I would like that very much.  I would not have to keep the storage unit if I got the basement to store things in.  Plus, Utley would be able to play in the yard.  My rent would go up, but having a basement and yard is special.  Utley will love it.

Have a great Fathers Day.  My Daddy has been in heaven since 1977, when he died at the age of 51.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish!

Hurray for the munchkins coming to visit!  I saw your sweet little princess on FB!  Oh, and Utley, too.  He's a handsome dog!

I hope the move goes through for you.  Always easier to be on the ground floor. Crossing my fingers for you!

Good evening. Sober 229 days and so proud of me.
Got up went to a wonderful Mass, went to Perkins for breakfast. Came home and did a little straightening up, watched a movie, laid down for a nap at 3......just got up and it is 6. It will take us both an hour to wake up to get ready to go back to bed....haha.
Our kids called to wish love to their Dad. Posted pictiures of us on FB..Monica Calluzzo Bond, Looked at Vickie pics, wonderful. Will check out Ms Barber. DTrish exciting you get to "go down" to the first floor, makes sense and comfort for you and furbaby. Nancy B always amazes me and so glad she has put her mom to her final rest. Glad Grammylew had a great time at BBQ. Someday on our travels north I wish to stop at Camp Lejuene and meet her and EAT at her house. I'll bring the stuff and watch and help her make her magic. I KNOW she must be one special women with how often the older Gkids are there. Jealous I am.
Waking up is hard to do....see you all tomorrow.
