Good morning Trish and everyone....
So happy about Bev's doctor's good news!!!
We really do have an awesome group here on OFF !! We are
fortunate to have each other. My day isn't right if I can't get on this board. We also have so many new and wonderful members!!!
I had a 9:15 doctor appointment this morning. My first time seeing her. She is great....I can tell already! She met with me almost an hour. We went over everything. She said she read my files from MN last night...she had several notes...we both had questions. She is very thorough and that is what I liked!! She is following up with all my testing and blood work etc....I feel much better now that I have a doctor!! I already have 3 other appointments set up with her in the next 2 months. My daughter recommended her as she is also her doctor. It is great her office is across the street....the hospital is a block away!!
Dr M. is very concerned about my lungs. She agrees we need at least one less dog. I am having lung x-rays Monday morning.
She has increased my allergy meds and inhalers too. One step at a time!!
I meet with my new psychiatrist at the end of July. I need him to suggest a therapist as well. I have had a therapist for over 30 years I am not stopping now!! It is scary picking out new doctors of any kind!!!!!
I am going to go pick up my RXs and maybe stop at a garage sale or two. Wishing you all a really great day!!
Prayers for so many in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I started watching the Phillies game last night, then switched to the White Sox game. The Sox game sure was exciting at times ... but they couldn't close the deal against the Nats. Sure had enough opportunities, but gave it away in the end. Came back and came back and came back ... and then blew it. Oh well.
I hit the farmers market after the cleaning lady left (first, Starbucks), then went and visited my cat rescue friend. We just sat and talked. Didn't even see any of her kitties, just her dog. The one cat she rescued with the kitten a while back had to be put to sleep. It had a severe infection of the eyes ... so did the kitten ... the shelter said it was very painful and only steroids could cure it, but too much steroids isn't good, the cats can't handle it. Mamma cat was already blind in one eye, so the humane thing was to put both to sleep. So sad. Patricia had put a lot of time and effort and love into those cats. But it was the right thing to do.
Then I got my prescription and allergy pills at CVS, then hit the grocery store ... whew, it was hot and humid and miserable, so by the time I got home, I was wiped out. Didn't do laundry ... had lunch and after that, tried to shred all this zucchini I had so it wouldn't go bad. Well, my year-old Kitchen-Aid food processor wouldn't work. So I called KA to see what I was doing wrong ... the only thing I've used it for was to chop nuts, and it worked fine. But it wouldn't shred. The woman tried several things with me, and then said, well, it's not under warranty anymore, but we'll send you a new one anyway. Isn't that great?
So then I had to use my old food processor that doesn't turn off unless you unplug ... kind of a pain, but it got the job done ... three zucchinis shredded and put in the freezer, so now I can make all sorts of things zucchini this summer and beyond. The one zucchini was actually free from the guy I bought $3 worth of tomatoes and this really good salsa ... I think he was happy I brought back the jar all cleaned out. Also got two nice big yellow red peppers.
I had been standing for a good time shredding, so I was in a lot of pain last night ... needed a couple painkillers, plus a muscle relaxer. Slept kinda fitfully. Humidity is up to 62 percent today and temp is 89 already.
Well, I work again tonight, 3 to midnight. At least it's the other two papers. Body doesn't feel very good but I'll survive. It's felt worse.
Oh, I found out that one of my former coworkers at Grand Rapids who now works for a paper in my chain got laid off this week ... she had completed her degree in counseling this year so she has a backup plan ... still, she lost her job and her basement flood because of a water line break in her city on the same day.
Anyway, have a good day.
