I got a memory foam topper for our bed down at the lake.  Sssh!  Don't tell hubby!  He doesn't know it's there.  He wouldn't let me buy a pillow top!  So I waited a couple of months and then snuck the memory foam on there under the mattress pad.  Just the other week he commented on how comfortable our new bed was!  Oh, really?  Ya think?!?!

Judy, I've seen these little clips in some of the catalogs.  You put them under the corners of the mattress and they hold the sheet in place.  Check a catalog like Solutions or Harriet Carter.  I'll bet you can find them.

LOL about the cats getting on your new topper!!! Bandit has a little bit of trouble getting into or should I say on to the bed now that its so much higher!!! LOL Poor thing!!! We help him up there when he can't make it up.

I will have to look up those sheets on line here at QVC and see how much they are. Thanks for this info!

I have a memory foam topper on every bed we have- I love those darn things! When I didn't have one my hips would start hurting when I slept on my side- but the topper fixed the problem! I thought we would need a new mattress! Maybe I will never need a new mattress now.

Good to know that you like yours also!! Makes me feel better on getting one now!  I love ours now that we have it...did you put yours on top of a pillowtop mattress?? How do you get the sheets to stay on the corners?? That is my problem now and I already have the deep pocket sheets.

Off to bed now for some comfy sleep...work in the morning and I am beat tonight after working 1-9 and being busy.

HUGS

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

Slept so
well last night ... conked out while watching a ballgame and felt so good. Slept til 10:30. Feel so much better. Unfortunately, now I have to go to work tonight. That'll ruin my mood.

Not much else going on. Had some fun last night on FB, chatting with some high school friends ... some I remember, some  I don't, but they all remember me. Funny, I wasn't in with the "in" crowd in high school, but everybody seems to remember me. I was a fat girl but was on the newspaper, so was kind of memorable I guess. Anyway, I guess.

I'm watching the Yankees game and Derek Jeter just got a homer for his 3,000th hit. Not a Yankee fan, but do like Jeter and for him to get a homer for his 3000th hit is something else. He's a classy player. Funny that no Yankee has gotten 3000 hits.

Anyway, that's all for me. Have a good one.

Hi Vickie and OFF family,

I'm doing well. AZ weather nice today. Oops!!!  It just thundered. I better go put up car windows. That's how fast things change around here.  One of my dearest friends in Indiana lost her Mother a few days ago. I want to be there with her and for her. The cost of a last minute flight is prohibitive. She wanted to wait until Labor Day weekend for the memorial service. It would give people more time for travel and I would already be there. Others in the family want it asap so they can have closure. Such is life. We have been talking on the phone. That will have to do for now.

Sharon is house sitting this week and will not have a computer. If she does cancel her Internet, I will keep you posted on how things are going with her.

It is said that their are 2 types of houses in Arizona. Ones who have termites and ones that will GET them.  We now have them. We have a laundry room and storage room that was an add-on by some one else. Our house is brick, but the addition is wood. We are getting estimates for taking down all the outside wood and using something like bricks, "concrete panels," siding, or stucco. I'm for the last one. Ellen will have to pay for it and then we will need to add 1/2 the cost to what I owe her from the surgeries.  THANK GOD for her new job. What a life saver. She is soooo good to me.   I love her dearly.

Best get myself moving. Lots to do before service tonight. Someone ask me once what I do on Sundays. The answer:  The same things you do on Saturdays!!!!  lol         Thinking of each of you,     Mag

Hey all,

I am in Baton Rouge for a workshop and conference.  I arrived earlier today and won't leave until Sunday next week.  My husband drove me down and two graduate students are coming down on Thursday and I will ride back with them.  We stopped for a po boy sandwich and hubby order one large one and fries and I ordered a salad.  Well, that sandwich and salad have lasted us since noon.  I think, though, we will toss it tonight.

Tomorrow my workshop begins at three but until then we are going to check out the river walk.  We are right on the river.  And, maybe do a little shopping at an art gallery.  I need some nice paintings for my new office.  So, will check out for some really cool jazz or blues musicians to match the one I already have.

On our trip down, I drove and hubby navigated.  He is leaving Monday.  He was so funny.  We hit a walmart to pick me up some new socks, a smaller gown, and a few tee shirts. He walks so slow nowdays and I want to run through and get the stuff and out, but I remember how patient he was when I was so overweight that I could barely walk into the store before having to sit down. So, I walk slowly and when he gets tired, I tell him to sit and wait and I'll go fetch.  He said that he felt useless to me and I said, that's crazy talk.  You do so much for me and without you the grandbabies and I would be lost.  So, I reminded him of all the great things he does like let the kids help him wash the car or weedeat.  How he puts all the light bulbs in and makes sure that I carry my umbrella and all of that.  Since his cancer diagnosis, he has really become depressed and in pain.  He has the radium implants around and inside of his prostate and he burns really badly a lot.  A few days ago, I hired a friend of mine who is a licensed massager person to give him a treatment and he was so thrilled with how well his back and shoulders felt that I decided we can sacrifice and have him treated weekly.

On a brighter note, I move into my new office when I get back and I picked out the paint and the shelves and furniture.  My lab that will house my tutors is huge and I was able to negotiate four computers for them, two video cameras for traning purposes, and an extra large classroom just for my teaching pleasure.  One of our deans has depended upon me to do a lot of editing for him and I was successfully able to get the department a 1.5 million dollar chair.  While that is a small chair, it brings a new professor and dean on board and becasue I wrote the proposal for them, they are allowing me some funding for travel, educational opportunites, and some much needed resources for my office.

My grandchldren are doing so well.  We are taking them to six flags when we get back.  My husband made the arrangements and we are renting a huge van so we can bring my daughter and her boy friend, and her best friend and her daughter.  The van is a fifteen passenger van and we got a really good rate on three rooms, so we will make some lasting memories for the kids.

I cannot believe that school will be starting at the University in less than a month.  I begin working with the grad students in the fall and am meeting with the entire business college faculty for some sugggestions for writing projects for their students.  And, the last week of July, I am doing a workshop for Walmart distrubituion center and two days later, I am doing one for Walmart stores in NWA.  The workshop is for the professional staff and will concentrate on business writing: written communicaton, proposals, and recomendation reports.

Well, my allergy meds and my xanax are kicking in.  My docotr has been so worried about my low blood pressure that he has given me a new med to bring it up, but one of the side effects is anxiety and itchy skin.  Even when I only take it at night, I have to take the benadryl and xanax and I am already feeling the heavy eyes.

Tdoay, at a stop for gas, I was standing in side of the store and hubby came up to me and said, you have accomplished so much and when I saw you through the window, I thought, that that hot chick looked al ittle like my wife.  And, when I got closer, I said, nope she looks better than my wife.  I said, shut up and he said, no.  YOu are my hot tamlie.  I said, well, you are my manly man.

He is so afraid that the readiation is going to permanently affect his plumbing.  I said, if I had to pick between a man who could make love to me all night long or a man who loved me all night long, I'll take the man who will love me all night.  Then I quickly added, but themaking love would be good too.

Oh, and today, I saw a man hit his wife.  We were getting gas and they were fighting and he started hitting her open handed on her back and head.  I said, hey.  You stop that.  He looked at me and said, mind your own ******g business. by that time, I was in his face.  Hubby was coming over from our car and and another mand and woman were heading my direction, so I felt fearless.  Then I said to him: shame on you.  A big old boy like you hitting on that woman.  He said, she's my wife.  I said, you keep hitting on her, she will eventually tire of it and move on and there you will be all alone.  Plus, you could go to jail, go to prison, and get your ignorant ass painfully you now what.  He looked at me with a puzzelled look and I said, you know, back door rape.  He laughed but the cops came and hauled him off to jail.

And when I was driving through Mississippi, a woman at the store we stopped at to get fruit said, you all come back.   I said thanks and she said, ya'll from around here.  I said, nope, Arkansas.  she said, on vacaation, I said, nope working.  Then she said, aight darling, youngs have a safe trip.  I said, and you a good weekend.  When I got to the car, I opened the bag and she had put two large bear claws in the sack.  I gave one to hubby and I gave the other to a man pumping his gas.

Okay, xanax has made me loopy.  Night all.
