Good morning Trish and everyone....

Just another quick fly by for me. I slept in until 10:30. I probably would have gotten up even later if I wouldn't have received a phone call...WOW...I needed that sleep!!

I spoke with my youngest Grandson, Lucas....he turns 13 today....he is so happy to FINALLY be a teenager!! I told him to slow down before he knows it he will be old like me!!  He just laughed!!
I always sing Happy Birthday to my daughters and all my grandchildren on their birthdays.....it may be corny but they actually look forward to it. My grandson said "it isn't my birthday until grandma sings"!!!

Got to boogey...I need a shower and then do something on my day off!!

Prayers for many....special ones for Nan and family.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I'm being a slug today ... off and me and Juliette are vegging at home. Well, I am doing laundry, but that doesn't take a lot of energy, which is good. I don't have much. I do have ground round out to make Waikiki meatballs later ... have to use the green peppers up.

I talked with my brother Gary via Skype this morning ... he didn't get the job. Well, the one person hasn't called him back but he didn't get the full-time job. He might still get called back on the part-time customer service rep job. Even though there's no benefits with that one, at least it's a job. I always say it's easier getting a job when you have a job.

Not much else going on ... I had six pages to do last night and almost all of them were open. It was a busy night. Came home wired and decided to watch the last "Harry Potter" movie since I want to go see the recent one this week. I forgot about a few spots in that movie that made me jump out of my seat.

Anyway, today is jus****ching baseball, doing laundry, reading, relaxing. Then back to work tomorrow. Have a good one.

Eileen,
I'm doing laundry today too. Not my favorite thing to do. I put it off as long as I can. Then it is worse because there is more to fold and put away.

Speaking of Harry Potter, I never had watched any of the movies so my sis borrowed the first 2 from a friend. I liked them and want to see the others. I just think they are a little to scary for children yet the is who they were written for. Just me. I grew up with Mickey Mouse Club and Spin and Marty.    Mag

Mag:

Well, yeah, I grew up with the same things. Bambi was a little scary for us, when Bambi's mother got shot and killed.

My washer-dryer is out off the patio of my apartment, so I have to go outside to load/unload ... so I feel the heat/humidity. Now officially 84 degrees with 82 percent humidity, so feels like 95. We're supposed to get rain ... but they've been predicting this for the past three days and it hasn't happened.

Eileen,

My washer/dryer is in a separate room which has no A/C or heat. We are going to remodel that room and the storage room. So I see comfort in my future. We are getting your rain. wonderful gentle rain that has time to really soak into the ground. Today the sun is out but it still unusually cool for this time of year. If I could send it to you and the rest of the country I be glad to share.    Mag

Wow! I knew that July 2011 would be one heck of a month but it was even more than I anticipated.  Wonderful wedding, folllowed by a trip to Canada with my cousins. Back home to a sprained ankle and. . . . looking forward to my brother's 70th birthday party.

Evidently the rest of my family was too as they started showing up about 4 days before the party. First Nathan and Kristin the newleyweds looking for "sunshine." Then Erin, Josh, 3 girls, and 2 dogs for their annual summer visit. . . then my oldest brother, Gray and his significant other. (They were the only ones I was really expecting!)

We have plenty of room and the weather was just perfect. Sunny, mid 80s, no wind. The last of them including my husband left this morning. Mike will be painting Erin and Josh's house this week and helping with the kids in the evening. Josh has football camp all week. Mike will come home on the first of August and I'll go over to have my pre op appt in Seattle and then go down to Erin's to help that week while Josh is on a fishing trip in Canada.

Quite frankly I'd be lying if I said this peace and quiet isn't blissful right now. Doing some laundry watching "Secretariet" on tv and propping my iced foot up in the recliner. I need a cabana boy to bring me margaritas!

Carla, Hope you have as wonderful of a wedding as we did! This week I have only one have to and that is a hair trim on Friday. Have a good week everyone!

Hey Karen,
It seems like everyone is getting marrie in July.  My sis-in-law got married last weekend.

Sorry to hear about the ankle.  I learned the best ice pack is a bag of frozen peas.  It conforms to the shape of your ankle, and can be refrozen for future ice pack use.  Just don't try to eat them.

Hang in there.

Hugs,
Trish

Trish, I used regular ice the first 24 hours then switched to my bag of peas. I really used the frozen peas when I had my upper eyelids worked on about 10 years ago. It was nice not to have water dripping on my face!
