Combating Regain - How Are You Doing It?

TGIF!!!

Another work week come to a close and how I fought my fight was with sweat equity, eating healthy and right size portions, taking my vitamins, drinking my fluids.

Here is my payoff:  this morning as I was deciding what to take to change into after my workout, I wanted to wear a certain shirt, but the bottoms were not wearable two months ago, so I said, ok, let me see where I stand with these and I looked at the size and they were 12P's and I said ok here goes, and up they went, a bit tight, but the kind of tight that some clothes are when they come out of a dryer and after wearing a few minutes they are fine and so I can celebrate today that I am wearing my size 12Ps again and I know that if I keep doing what I am doing, I just might see a size 10 one day this year!

I hope any of you reading this do not see this as a brag, but more as the happiness of someone who had lost their way and since recommitting to the proper way of living, is seeing a result and I also hope that it gives anyone else who may be struggling hope that they can find their way back too!  YOU CAN DO IT, it takes dedication and hard work, but it can be done, one day at a time, one food choice at a time, one physical activity at a time, all those equate with successing!!!

I wish you successful decision making more often than not and healthier and engaged living!

Laureen

P.S.  I am off on Monday, so if I do not post this thread then, I will post Tuesday a.m.  Enjoy the weekend!

Sister, I feel your joy! Way to go. You are doing a great job of keeping on keeping on. Day after day is exactly what it takes to bring the results that you saw this morning! One day at a time works for so many things in our lives and you are a wonderful example of putting your experience to work in every area of your life. When you were unhappy with what you saw you didn't just sit there and grouse about it you became pro active. Contratulations on that smaller firmer taut bum! I bet you aren't the only one noticing it at the gym these days!! Happy Friday my friend. Have a wonderful 3 day weekend. Bragging? No just a bit of pride in your accomplishment. Nothing wrong with that! Sometimes if we don't pat ourselves a bit no one else will.

Laureen....bragging no...you are just happy with the great job you have done with your weight loss.

This has encouraged me to try a little harder..... and I will !!!

I have decided to get rid of my size 0 and 2's....I know I don't even want to be that small again. Having them around just depresses me anyway. My 4's are tight and I have many 3's I can't wear.....time to get moving and get back to wearing those clothes again!!!  Thanks for the encouragement. This may be the push I need!!

Congrats...I am proud of you!!

YOU BRAGGER YOU LOL    JOKING Laureen ...  you have something to brag about but I dont see that either .  I see proud and happy coming out when you speak of it ,  as I feel the same way ..  I am happy for you .
Isnt is funny when we ( I ) have had a lifetime of wanting to be thinner and healthy and when I get there or even close , I feel a little timid about  saying it ,,, I am speaking just for me but that is how I feel ,,,TO be honest , I dont feel thin still even though I lost 5 - 6 sizes and have maintained this size for 7 years give or take a few lbs here and there .
I too am a 12 , some 10's and I think I am destined to stay here .   I exercise at least 6 days a week and am always watching and trying to eat healthy .    I am not fat but yet not thin ,,,,,ARGGGGGGGGGGGG
I think I shall be happy where I am as long as I dont go up ..   my new theory is "  In a hundred years, who cares anyway :) "
Have a blessed and happy weekend Laureen and JOY JOY JOY for you ..

Hugs

Shirley,

You expressed exactly how I feel about it, I orginally wanted to be in a size 8/10, which was reasonable, but when I got to a 12 and kind of stopped, I looked at all those who were 4s and 6s and felt like there was something wrong with where I was, however, I soon realized that we are all different and at a size 12 I looked a hellavua lot better than the size 24/26 I was in when I first started this journey.  So it's all about perspectives and at 56 years of age, I think a size 12 is a good one, the scale number bothers me, but I've also learned that is not the whole picture, so if I can get into all my 12s again, that will be a success story, I had one size 10 ralph lauren jeans, gosh he makes his jeans roomy and I was so happy the day I put them on and could say I wore a 10, but truth is his sizes are very generous, so 12 it is and happy I shall be to be it!

Thanks for sharing yourself with me.

Laureen
