Good Morning Trish, OFFr's,

Happy that you are going to love your new apartment and that Utley will get a benefit too!!!

I had a busy weekend, Saturday went up to Barix for Support Group and it was a good group and meeting, after that I stopped at Ross' where I picked up a really cute suit for work, one I had seen there in the spring, but not in my size, well this time I scored and for $39 I got a nice suit, kind of a denim blue skirt with a silver grey, and animal print style jacket, looks really nice on, now I need to find a nice camisole to go under it, something in a deep grey would be nice, after that I did a little food shopping, went home had dinner, then to my women's AA meeting and home to bed.  Yesterday Tony came down, breakfast and then shopping for my new trinket, I got a real pandora bracelet yesterday with a key to my heart charm, this bracelet was from Tony and will only have charms on it from him, as I have another one that my daughter bought me at Christmas time, though not a real pandora one, just as good and that can be for everyone else, after that we stopped at this new frozen yogurt place called Mangousa and it is a pro biotic natural yogurt, it was quite delicious and I believe the serving I got was about 110 calories, so something I can have as an occasional treat, then home where I prepped food and watched the Mets game with Tony, afterwards he grilled some steaks I had bought on Saturday when I went food shopping and I made a nice tomato, onion and cuke salad with tomatoes grown in my garden and with a few yellow ones from a local farm stand, also made corn on the cob from the farm stand.  Got all my food prepped for the work week and Tony went home and I went to an AA meeting with a friend of mine, then home to bed.

Woke up this morning got into my gym clothes, packed my food to take to work and went to the gym, am at work and just finished my breakfast of eggbeaters, zucchini, onion and asparagus and swiss cheese omlet with half of a whole wheat and multigrain crossiant and at lunch I will attend an AA meeting and after work going to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza place for dinner with one of my co-workers, then home to spend time with the Roxie girl and to bed. . .

I am sending out good thoughts to anyone suffering from any ailments or dealing with serious life challenges, wishing you peace and strength to carry on.

Hugs, Laureen

Connie,

Imagine how I feel (lol), I don't know any other way to live my life, it is rich with my many affiliations and then there is all the things I need to do to stay on top of this weight related stuff and oh yes, I am someone who is forever grateful to my Mom for making me love veggies and this time of year, it is especially wonderful because there are so many fresh ones to choose from.

I made my mock pizza with a half bag of baby spinach as something to have during the week, full of good stuff that is and then I from a small basket of peaches I purchased at the farm stand, the kind that are ready to eat within 48 hours, and I started thinking what could I do with them, so I took three of them, sliced, marinated them for an hour with fig jam, balsamic vinegar and a touch of cinnamon and baked them in the oven for 25 minutes and OMG!  they turned out awesome, now if I had no sugar added vanilla ice cream that would have been a nice dessert, so something I will keep in mind for the future. . .  lol, love this season of bounty, it adds to my want to cook and be creative in the kitchen, another thing to keep myself busy.

Have a great day!

L

Greetings to all:

The family reunion was FUN! A whole bunch of us arrived early in the morning to get organized. We worked like well oiled machines. Laughing machines.

The rest of the family began to arrive. It looked like a caravan of cars. A stranger passing might have thought there was a carnival happening with the tents, cars and people. We are a big Italian family.

It is always warm and cozy to be with all my uncles. They look and act just like my Dad did. A couple still wear the Old Spice which will forever remind me of Dad.

The aunts clustered and mentioned how it feels as if there is an empty chair where Mom should be sitting. Yeah, I felt that too.

Lots of people, dogs, cats and new babies to ohh and ahh over.

Look at the time. I have to be showered, dressed and at work in 37 minutes. Yikes. Time to get moving.

Sure thing Connie. Next August, you hop a plane to Ithaca and I'll pass you off as a cousin.  There are so many, they'd never know or mind for that matter.

Kisses

Nettie,

I come from what was once a big Italian family and now it seems we have gotten small, though some have just moved so far away that sadly we don't see one another anymore and at least through facebook I can keep in touch with some of them.  We had our last family reunion 4 years ago and on our way, I got word of my date for surgery, that trip was the beginning of my great aunt Mary's current state, dementia, she is 95 now and failing, with her goes the last of my grandfather's sibilings, so sad. . .  anyway, I am THRILLED that you enjoyed your BIG family and it makes me wistfully remember how our get together's used to be, they were wonderful and I'm glad yours was. . .

Hugs, L

Little Sis,

We are fortunate that many still live in the area.

So very very happy to be back to my part time job today.  Altho' it took me 50 minutes to find the top of my desk -- lots of problems, but "wonder woman" got them taken care of pretty swiftly....ha ha

Gotta get back to work -- have to agree about the prunes, when I have an occassional problem they work really well.  I like the Sweet Ones too, Connie.

Have a great day and love and special thoughts to all,
Pat R.
