Judy I am so glad you are seeing your doctor. Not all doctors believe in Fibromyalgia. It is very real!!!!  You need Flexeril as this effects the muscle. When I have a flare up I take a Vicodin and Flexeril. Knocks me out but that is okay as I take it at night.

I am praying for you...good luck!

Love you....HUGS....connie d

Thanks for that info Connie!! I was going to ask you what you were taking and see IF he would let me try it also. See what he says tomorrow. So this KNOCKS you out huh? Hmmm wonder if I should really try it...LOL But if I take it at night I should be ok in the morning to work right? What is the amount of Vicodin you take? Mine is 500-5 mg one every 6-8 hours. This is my PAIN dr that I am going to see not my FAMILY dr. So he SHOULD know what I am dealing with. Right? I hope so!!!!

Will let you know when I get home tomorrow after work what happened.

Thanks for the prayers and the luck!!!

Love you too!!! HUGS

Judy...the Flexeril is a once a day med for me. If I take it at night it last6s all day. It sure helps with the aching and muscle spasms.

Good luck!!!  There are 18 trigger spots for Fibro.....I had 16 of them....just to let you know. I also took a class and that was really helpful. It helped me to understand how this disease effects so many parts of our body and mind. I get low grade temps and plenty of CRS especially with a flare up.  Yes, my family doctor diagnosed me. Now I see a rheumatologist too.

Love you....hugs....connie d

It is a very sad week in Canada as the second most powerful and loved politician died this week.  He was a gentle soul who rode a bicycle instead of driving a car and retro-fitted his home to be energy efficient.  He fought for equality and social justice and was loved by millions no matter what their political leanings were.  He was only 61 and died of cancer.

Just before he died, he wrote a letter to the many groups in his life including those fighting cancer, Canadian youth and Canadians in general.  Here is the last paragraph of the letter:

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.

I'm including this piece of information not as a political bit but as a reminder to all of us  that hope, optimism and love are fundamental to our well-being and to the well-being of the world.  We often get mired in negativity to our own detriment, and I am as guilty as anyone else is of this.
I am going to focus this week on all that is positive in my life  -  I hope that you can do so as well.

Thank you, Connie.  It is surprising to me how much his death affected me.

Margaret,

I can readily see how your Jack would be much loved. . .  he was wise and right in his thoughts, too bad the world at large, cannot see it that way. . .  I am an optimistic realist, which for me is about looking for what is good in life, but recognizing that reality is not what I would like it to be more often than not and hoping that it gets better before we blow ourselves to kingdom come. . .  I love the way he expressed himself and I'm sure it will be quoted by many in time. . . sorry for your's and the world's loss.

Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

 Good morning Nancy and everyone....

Karen....Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers today. Praying your surgery goes well and that your recovery is an easy and quick one.

Nancy...still praying for you also. Hoping all goes well for you too.

I am feeling a bit better today. At least I have a little more energy.
Grace and I need to go to the grocery store for just a few things. It is 92 and the heat index is 105 today.....I won't be out long!!

Wishing you all a really great day. So many prayers for all in need.

Thank you so much for all the love and support you have been giving me. I love and appreciate you all more then you can imagine!

Love and hugs....connie d

Hello all my OFF sistas!

I have missed you all so much!  We are back home now from Canada, where we had an absolutely WONDERFUL vacation!  I have posted a travel log on my OH page if you want to read about our adventures.  Also, I posted a ton of pics on FB.  The Canadian Rockies are just spectacular!  If you haven't been there, you NEED to GO!  'Nuff said!

I haven't had time to read all the posts from this past week yet.  Reentry into everyday life has been a bit bumpy, to say the least.  I managed to crack my back molar, and I have to have a root canal tomorrow afternoon.  Yuck.  Still have computer issues.  Yuck, Yuck.  My car's front windshield cracked from the heat, and have to have it replaced tomorrow.  Yuck, Yuck, Yuck.  The list goes on and on.

But the good news is that yesterday was my 6 month surgiversary and I didn't gain one ounce while I was on vacation!  Hurray!  Had all my bloodwork done this morning for my checkup with my surgeon in Houston next week.  I also met two ladies here--one in the dentist's office and one at the lab this morning--who have had WLS, and they both look fabulous!  One had RNY and is 5 years out and the other had the sleeve and is almost 2 years.  They both gave me pep talks yesterday and today.  I'm thinking of inviting them to start a support  group with me.  We don't have one here.

Well, much going on today, so I need to hustle.  Just wanted to say "hello" and "love you all" and I missed you!  See you tomorrow!
