Saturday-woohoo
The wedding is today. Most everyone from Maryann's family is heading over early to help with last minutes prep's.Our friend Jerry is picking A few of us ladies at 4PM. It's outdoors and no arrangements made for rain or other bad weather. Hope the weather is favorable for Kelly and Brian's day.
My trip to ER gave me a little help at least. Knee stabilizer from above the knee to my ankle. Also liquid Vicodin which I take my regular dose instead of what the
er doctor wrote for.
Talked with Diane. e are still going to try the Florida trip. Will only be putting on less miles per day and talking a day off for R & R when needed. No idea when we will reach Tampa Bay area. Will be calling Monica and Carla along the way to give progress reports.
Spending Sunday and Monday with my cousin and his family.Tuesday is day to veg out and watch movies etc. while legs are elevated. Wednesday will be our first day on the road.
Thanks so much for all your prayers. I can feel them working. What a wonderful group of friends you are. Mag
Today is a good day for so many of you! The start of the 3-day holiday weekend. Hope everyone who has plans has good weather to enjoy this weekend.
It's actually a wee bitty bit COOLER here today! We're only supposed to get into the mid-90's today. No triple digits!!! Whoo hoo! Unfortunately, we are not supposed to get much, if any, of the rain from the tropical depression that moved on-shore Louisiana this morning. That's really sad. All that rain so close, and yet we don't get a drop. You gals just would not believe how devastating this drought has been. There are burn bans in all the counties, but now they've even instituted a ban on BBQ pits this weekend. No open flames of any kind. Wild fires are everywhere.
Well, I've been car shopping this morning. When we were in Canada, we rented a Ford Edge and I just fell in love with that car! I told Butch, "I want one!" Been up to the local dealership this morning to see what they had in stock and what they would give me for my trade-in. Long story short, to get what I want, we'll have to order it from the manufacturer. Takes 8 to 10 weeks. Decent offer on the trade-in. Got to talk it over with Butch when he calls tomorrow, but we may just do it.
Need to get my butt into gear and take this big load of stuff up to the Women's Shelter today, but right now I just feel wiped out. I just want to sit and crochet and watch movies on TV.
Oh! I did go and check out Curves yesterday. I found out I can have a 20 day travel pass each month, so it would be possible for me to join the Curves here and then use the Curves down at Canyon Lake while I'm there. I set up an appt for my first session next Tuesday morning. They'll do an intake and teach me to use the equipment. I would rather do water aerobics at the Court Club here, but economics and my crazy life being what they are, I'll get more use out of the Curves membership. The most important thing is that I exercise 3-4 times a week. Laureen and DebbieJean--you gals are inspiring me!
Grammy, love the pet stories! I need to work on my genealogy, too, but I have too much going on right now to concentrate on it. And I've got curtains to make for the lake house. I need to get organized!
Judy, glad you are feeling better! Good luck with the laundry today.
Cindi--you had "head hunger" about that buttercream frosting! I still have head hunger over cokes and chocolate. It's a terrible thing to battle a craving like that! There are certain activities I do that make me just CRAVE a coke! For example, I always drank a coke when I sat down to pay bills. I paid bills yesterday and my mind kept saying, "I need a Coke!" B.S.! I don't need a coke! It's getting more manageable, but I suspect it will always be there.
Monica, so proud of you! Glad you're feeling better, too!
Nan, you hang in there with the not smoking! Best thing you can do for yourself and your family. My DH quit 5 years ago. Says it's the hardest thing he ever did.
Mag, sounds like you're slowly recovering. Best wishes for today's outdoor wedding! Hope the sun shines GENTLY on the newlyweds!
I need to go veg out for a few minutes and gather myself together for the rest of the day.
Love you all!
I used to do Curves and loved it. Unfortunately the Curves here in Maine closed so I dropped my membership. But now that I have had my surgery, I'm going to look into using Curves while in Texas. I'm sure that there are Curves in Baytown and Beaumont.
Thanks for the encouraging words about head hunger. I knew that it was head hunger and I gave into it. Now I'm wiser especially after the belly ache and the burping.

Well, it's raining here at last and only 76 degrees. We are too far north to get blasted by Lee but at least we're getting some of the effects. We need the rain, too. Hard on my body, though ... headache, backache, knee ache ... hell, what doesn't ache? I have to work tonight ... but not on sports. I guess the request to do less sports has paid off.
Not much else happening ... I need to get into the shower and get some lunch. Have a good day.
Good Afternoon Carolyn and Friends,
Slowly getting better each day from the medial thigh lift. I thought I knew more than enough before going into this surgery 11 days ago. Since then I have watched a video that is on the OH Plastic Surgery site. Talk about graphic. Pretty much exactly what they said they did to me. GLAD I did NO****ch it before I went in. Might have chickened out.
I sometimes wonder about doctors. The surgeon who did my lower body lift said that the thigh lift would be easy by comparison. WRONG! Incisions on the insides of the thighs, trying to keep clean when toileting, rubbing, etc much worse. A male doesn't have to deal with some of those issues.
Mike says I still look like somone took a meat cleaver to my thighs. I think that's a pretty good description. But I am getting better day by day.
I'm trying to be patient but I'm still up 3 lbs from the day before surgery. Also haven't lost the 8 llbs that they said they removoed in fat and skin.
My lids are getting heavy. Still taking a pain pill about every 4 hours.
You all take care.
