MONDAY MONDAY
Good Morning Shirley and OFF Family,
Well, I feel stupid. My wireless turned off, and I could not find the switch, did not have a clue, so I called Comcast, and then decided while she was helping me to find my Users Manual for my laptop, and found the wireless switch and fixed out.
Today, I am having a rhizotomy(sp?) to try to stop some chronic back pain. It requires sedation, so a dear friend is helping me get to and from the surgery center. I am truly blessed with dear friends. Also, my hammertoe surgery is scheduled for October 11th. Mom will be in town to help me, but she won't be driving me to the surgery center for that, as she does not like to get up early, and there is a chance of that.
So, when I get home, I will work on knitting and try to finish that baby blanket. Also, I have to catch up on my Bible study, as I did not get the materials till yesterday. So, I have to do a couple of days work today to stay caught up.
Hope everyone has a great day. Count your blessings.
Hugs,
Trish

Hi Shirley and my OFF family:
I'm up too early today ... got an appointment at the pain clinic. Since my insurance doesn't pay for much, like the injections in the back I used to get in Michigan that helped or Trish's rhizotomy (sp?), all I can do is go and get my prescription for vicodin. This will cost me $50 copay, because in La., you have go into the dr.'s office every month to get your prescription. I don't even see the doc, just the PA and she talks to me for about five minutes. So for five minutes, I pay $50.
Anyway, then I work tonight again. We had rain last night ... some lightning but then gentle rain, all after I got home. It's a good thing. It's cooler today (65 percent) but the humidity is 89 percent.
My Bears were beaten by the Packers ... not unexpected. They need help on the offensive line. It's going to be a long year.
Pat, glad your male friend is being nice to you.
Good wishes to Carla for her surgery.
Have a good day.

I can ask, but I think you have to go to a pain doc for these meds. I think that's state law. It sure would be cheaper ($25 for copay vs. $50 copay). At least when I go to refill clinic, it's less than $25 (you only see the nurse, she takes bp, pulse, temp, gives prescription).
Like I said, in Mich. (different, better insurance, but different job too), I could call in and get prescription when I was out; plus, I was able to get the shots in the back, too ... insurance covered it. This policy doesn't cover much of anything ... it goes toward deductible, which is $1500 and I don't have enough to pay for the procedure.

Hi everyone,
I have not checked in regularly for a while so it is good to see news from everyone here! My big news of the week is that this is my LAST FULL TIME week working in my current job - starting next Monday I go to 3 days a week. This will I hope make me feel less overwhelmed and give time to work on some things I really enjoy doing and those I need to do.
I have been working on my blog too, which you are all welcome to check out:

Family is doing well, health is good, and overall I can't complain. Take care everyone!

Connie, the Vicodin itself only costs about $5 ... it's the copay for the dr's visit that's $50, and all I get out of it is the prescription. And today I had to do a urine drug test ... and I have a problem peeing on demand. What a pain! It took 20 minutes to get a sample (of course it was fine ... I don't abuse my drugs).
This is all done because there are people abusing vicodin and oxycodone in La., so there is a state law that you can't get these drugs called into the drugstore and have to go into the doctor's office for the prescription, plus pass a random drug screen. All this you have to pay for, and you can only go to a pain clinic for it, which means a specialist, which is a $50 copay (otherwise, I would get it from my PCP, which would be less at $25.).
