Hello, everyone!

We are experiencing summer temps here…what a beautiful long weekend! Since it is just JB and myself, I didn't roast a big turkey for our Thanksgiving..just made stuffed chicken breasts. Derek & his lady friend are gone for the long weekend way up north to a fancy resort in the Muskoka’s and Danny has his in-law side and he will also be busy flying….practicing emergency landing at unfamiliar airports.   I’m feeling good…a bit easily tired though. I got my surgery date on Friday afternoon:  Pre-op on Oct 28, the day before JB’s birthday and surgery is on November 8th…I have to be there at 6:30 am! That ought to be fun *s*. It’s a good 90 minutes drive but add to that, the morning traffic rush hour traffic on the highway so it works out that I need to be up before 4 am…not much point in going to bed then.  This works out well because I teach my last LifePath class on Nov 5th so I won’t have to interrupt the flow.  I visited Mom &  Dad’s grave yesterday and weeded the plot....amazing how fast those pesky weeds grow in.  I met one of my nieces for coffee at Starbucks in the city to give her the box of gifts from my cousin in Argentina,  stopped for groceries,  and stopped to get a new harness for my C-Pap machine…because the harness has stretched, I am constantly woken up thru the night when the seal “burps”.  Unfortunately they do not have any in stock and I have to wait for two weeks for a new one.  I also stopped at the farmer’s market and bought apples then went home and I made a pan of cinnamon rolls with lots of cinnamon, raisins and sliced almonds….even got in extra time sitting drinking chai tea on my porch with my cats. Today it is my plan to change all the beds & all the bathroom towels, dust & vacuum  the main level and clean out the refrigerator and washing it inside completely.  I’ve got chicken breasts and will stuff them for dinner & make a sugar-free apple pie . I’ve already got lemon curd cake ready too.  I like to cook big batches because I am often out to meetings in the evening and it’s easier to grab a pre-made meal from the freezer for the guys because I never know when they will come inside from work….when they are “in the flow”, they don’t like to stop.  Poor LilyRose has fleas! They must have come inside when JB brought “Ruby Tuesday” in once in a while…..the flea sprays do not work well and SillyRose hides on us now. On Tuesday, I will go to the Vet’s and buy the GOOD stuff. Well I’m off to bed....another late night for me…hoping that our lovely weather continues for a while yet.  *sending healing energy for courage and comfort to those needing it* Nancy B

Morning Nancy and all who follow. Sober 345 days and so proud of me
Your energy amazes me....your joy of life sustains. Prayers and happy thoughts to you daily.
My first eval at chiro was OK. They took lots of digital x-rays and pushed me around. Had to constant remind myself to relax and not fight the pushing.
We found a lovely store yesterday, a ladies boutique that sold incredible items. I got 6 pieces and the sales people were so much fun. All the items were on sale, the store has really high end clothing. I told the staff how I used to weigh 330 lbs and how much fun I was having trying on clothes and finding treasures to take home. I also purchased my gift to me for being sober. A beautiful crystal bracelet.
The resort is filling up with early snowbirds each day. Welcoming back friends is lovely.
My pouch is giving me trouble lately. Finding a balance of food and happiness is frustrating, even after 7 yrs. I am eating less and feeling full to fast. Mindful of each mouthfull and putting fork down until each bite is swallowed.
Traveling bra to go to VA today and tomorrow. Hubby is doing well.
Have a lovely Tuesday and remember to be good to yourself.

Monica, proud of your continued sobriety.
My parents were snowbirds for many years. But they went from NY to South Padre Island, TX. They so enjoyed renewing old friendships each fall. They continued to stay in touch with many of them when they sold their 5th wheel and moved into the retirement place in Harlingen.
I am sitting here listening to the Marines do their 'target practice' with their tanks. Sounds like thunder.

Camp Lejuene is one of our favorite spots to camp at. Hubby found some really huge shark teeth, grateful the office hands out the info on how there is the prehistoric shark graveyard off shore. Also loved Onslow for the area close to the helicopter assaults, sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching the brave Marines jumping out of the copters raised goosebumps. The artillery range was impressive also.

Monica...345 days now!!!! WOW!!!!! You go girlfriend!!!! I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!

Losing all that weight and then getting to go shopping for new clothes and treasures is so much fun now isn't it?? And to actually show our old photos of us before the loss....see the looks on peoples faces....lol AMAZING!!!!!

Your pouch hurting you...could it be reflux? Have you tried a heartburn medication to see if that takes the pain away? I went to dr for the pain and had testing done and that is what it turned out to be. Reflux. I am not a dr but if you aren't on a heartburn med give it a try and see if it helps. Can't hurt.

Good Morning Nancy and OFF Family,
Nancy, I am holding on to your energy and peace for my surgery today.  I am having hammertoe surgery on two toes on my right foot.  I will not be able to drive for two weeks, minimum, maybe more.  Mom is in town to help me a bit.

The nice thing is, I am having my surgery at the facility where I had my WLS and following hernia surgery, so I am confident I will be in good hands throughout.  Plus, my podiatrist has already done the same surgery on three toes on my left foot.

I appreciate all prayers and healing thoughts.  I will be online a lot during my recuperation, as my laptop has Wifi.

Super Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.

Yesterday about noon our son came over to put up my DH's new CB antenna to replace the one that came down during Irene. Our son had said it wouldn't come down cause he put it up. But the poles unscrewed in the storm! When it came down the antenna broke in half. Anyway, son worked for 5 hours, put in a pulley system to raise it up so he could put the radials on while it was off the ground. So, got the entire thing up, and the pole snapped and down it came. The radial almost skewered DH! So now DH has to order another antenna. Can't just buy the bottom pole! What the heck, it's only money.

Today I will cover the bottom couch cushions only! They shouldn't take too long. They are simple square cushions with piping all around. Then I will just spend the rest of the day doing something I want to do!! Maybe my DH and I will go out to lunch.

Well, surgery for many of you. Some soon, some later. I pray you are all safe and your recovery is swift and uneventful.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!
