Wednesday
Hi Vicki, I tried to post earlier, but this internet is really sporatic. We are leaving Sat morning. I hope to get to my Doctors on Mon. or early Tuesday. Morgan has some tests & bloodwork to do Friday, so I want to go with her. Friday night is something at their school so I can at least see their costumes. So far no change in me, so at least I'm not any worse. Morgan felt good enough to go to Hobby Lobby with us yesterday. She has a wheelchair, only if her hips start to hurt. So far she is good. I think she has only used it a couple times since we have been here.
I truely believe she will beat this again!!!! I do hope to meet her & her dad in NY, when they go for treatment.
That should happen in the next month or 2, again, day by day.
Thank you again for all the thoughts & prayers. Also, praying for all who hurt to feel better!!!!

Took our son for the shot in his back. The last one really only lasted 10 days. They gave him a 'thicker' mix this time hoping it will last longer. Stopped and brought chinese home for lunch. I got the yummy orange chicken. I finally got full!! And I only had 2 pieces of the chicken. I hope I can start feeling satisfied after eating. The sleeve is basically, they cut away the back part of the stomach. No rerouting intestines, or anything else. In the fluoro it looked like the esophogus, 'stomach' and intestine were all the same diameter. The stomach is about as long as my thumb.
So many on here in pain. I hope you can all find relief soon. Also, lots of you making yummy sounding 'fall' foods. I agree with not being able to make a small amount. My kids all moved out over 20 years ago and I still can't cook for just 2 of us. Of course, lately, there is always someone coming by to help us eat whatever I make. But my passion has always been making desserts and this NC group are not much for eating sweets!
Tonight the last 2 gals are supposed to come by and pick up costumes for themselves and their sweeties. I'll be glad to have that bedroom really back to normal.

Caroline, I've been single all my life and I've never made a meal that's just a single ... it always last several days. I have two containers of chili in the freezer and still two more meals of my baked pasta in the fridge. The only thing that is a one-day meal is eggs.
Sorry your son's shot didn't last as long. My pain doc in Mich. noticed I got more relief from the shots after I lost weight. Of course, now I can't afford to get them down here because my insurance doesn't really cover them.
I love baking, Caroline, so I bring a lot of the stuff into work, and finally, they're beginning to appreciate my baking.

Me, too! I just don't know how to cook in small amounts! So I've learned, when Butch is gone, to cook exactly what I like and then I eat it for several days in a row.
I used to love to bake. Desserts were always my passion. I haven't baked much since surgery. I'm afraid to "wake the dragon"! I used to watch the cooking shows, collect cook books, experiment in the kitchen, etc. I guess my whole life revolved around food. I'm trying hard to get away from that mind set. But geez, I do miss it!
I had a cake decorating business once. I made and decorated birthday cakes and wedding cakes. Oh, it was such fun, but I ate too much of my own product! I had to quit. Plus I got tired of always having all that mess in my kitchen.
I just gave my bread machine to my youngest daughter last month. Hated to see it go, but I wasn't using it. Also gave her my ice cream maker, which I loved. I won't give up my mixer though!
Trish, I'm glad you lost your headache, but I think it found it's way to me. I'm going to lie down for awhile.

You know, eggface has protein ice cream recipes. I have never tried them, but I hear they're good. I still have problems with ice cream ... I can't have it in the house because I'll eat the whole pint and get sick. The only way I do ice cream now is the little dixie cups. Can't get sick on them because they're portion controlled. I throw some peanuts on them for protein.
I have a bunch of lowfat, low sugar baked goods recipes from this cookbook written by a woman in my support group right after I had surgery ... she had surgery about the same time I did. She slimmed down all her favorite recipes. I have made some of the quick breads and muffins, and they are among my favs. I bring them into work so I don't eat them all, but my coworkers (both here and Grand Rapids when I worked there) all love them, even though they are low cal, low carb.
We must get together sometime soon, Vickie.

Hello all. Sober 360 days and so proud of me.
Late getting here, errands took up most of day. Grateful for chiropracter, really have to RELAX when he goes to crack me. Crack me he does, feels good afterward. I am almost 2 inches taller than when I started. Hubby adjusted my cane even higher.
Making Italian chix cutlets for dinner. Amazing how good garlic and oil smell cooking. The fennel seed in the bread crumbs and fresh chopped basil delicious too. Hoping my pouch loves the meal. Light and yummy, keeping it simple.
Lost an inch around my middle, so I am upping my protein intake. At least protein does not make the pouch unhappy. Increased my water intake too.
Beautiful here, but warm. Put the AC on for the first time in a week.
Vickie glad that Butch is safe and getting settled. We are making our plans for the trip north.
Hoping hump day is happy for you all.
