Saturday Happenings-What's Up?
I woke up and can't get back to sleep, so I am checking in with everybody.
I wasn't able to make my AA meeting yesterday, so I am definitely making one today. I still have plenty of work to do on Isabel's bedspread, but I think I can fini**** this coming week.
I missed my psychiatrist appointment yesterday due to a bad traffic jam on the PA Turnpike. It took me two hours to go 8 miles. I rescheduled for the 20th. I hope this depression does not worsen in the meantime.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

Traffic is certainly one of the things about living in So CA that I don't miss!!! It gets backed up here now and then, but it's nothing compared to what we left. Good riddance
Well, the saga of treatment at the UAMS Ladies Oncology Dept continues. I have decided that I will be getting a second opinion from another doctor and as much as I like the doctor herself, the system at the Med Center is so messed up that I just can't keep going there.
I was told that a nurse would call me within 72 hours of my surgery last week (Thursday) and I never got a call. Then, I was told to come in on Friday to get the results. My discharge papers said my appointment was Monday. Well, let me tell you, there was no way I was waiting another weekend for these results. So, I called this last Monday to verify that I was to come in Friday. Left a message that still has not been returned. Finally, I e-mailed the doctor and told her what was going on and she replied that I could come in yesterday @ 10:00.
So.....I copied off the e-mail, just in case, and Gary and I take off for the appt. When I told the receptionist my name and I had an appointment, she got that dear in the headlights look and said "Dr Henry-Tillman isn't here". You know I blew a gasket!!! I looked at her and told her under no uncertain cir****tances was I leaving that office without SOMEONE giving me the results, and I didn't give a damn who it was or how long I had to wait, I wanted answers! Oh, and I gave her my copy of my e-mail.
Gee......10 minutes later the doc shows up. Funny? I thought she wasn't there???
I can't take the emotional roller coaster that place puts me on, so I'll be taking my sock with rocks somewhere else. In the meantime, I started the Tamoxifen today.......life goes on.
Thanks for all the good wishes, prayers, and concern from all of you. You mean the world to me!
Susan
Move went well, but the hitch would not release so our RV man came to save the day and hubby's arm and back. We are so grateful for Charlie, the RV repair man. He has become a friend to us and Yoda. America is his adopted country and he is such a patriotic person. His knowledge of American history is striking and can make you humble. He is from Hungary and was a circus trapeze performer. The tales he tells are so amazing. His wife is from Sicily and they both speak 5 languages.
Hoping to get the Christmas tree up and decorated and some of the gifts wrapped. Will also need to clean and rearrange stuff.
Traffic can truly mess up ones time schedule Trish. Sorry that you have had problems with that medical center Sue. I recall the horrific days while my mom was alive and in the hospital. They kept trying to do a colonscopy, forgetting she had Alzheimer's and she roamed the halls at night finding food. Oh I had a terrific roe with the administrator. I always interview the support staff at a doctors office before I commit to an appointment. If the staff is happy then the are treated with respect. Good luck finding a better place.
Prayers for all, seeing the positive results some have had we know the prayers are working.
Hugs, Monica....2 days on Cymbalta, no weird problems
Hello all,
I'm breaking between morning chores. Granddaughter is watching Gnomio and Juliet and every so often, I tell her the real version and my favorite scene is Juliet's monologue: Romeo, Romeo, Where Art Thou, Romeo…so I just finished reciting that to her. She loves ballet, poetry, and the theater. Of all my grandkids, she and I practically live at the Walton theater. We've seen almost every single play, symphony, and dance performance. Next week, the Russian Ballet is performing our favorite: The Nutcracker. So, there you so.
Susan… I am with you on those freaking doctors. When DH was having problems with his bladder, the doctor kept saying, it's his crones…in the meantime, his prostate kept getting larger and larger and it got where every single time he peed, he would just scream. I called his doc, and he'd say, it's crones. During the four foot snow blizzard last winter, I shoveld the snow out of my driveway with my damn fireplace shovel, drove through the tunnel i had made, and took hubby and kids to the hospital slipping and slidding all the way. I brought blankets, pillows, and water in case I slid into a snow bank and we couldn't get out of the car…at the hospital, a doctor who was here from Mexico, felt his abdomen, gave him mrophine, and did some test. Two hours later, he came and said, I think your husband has cancer. Fortunately, it was one of the most treatable. If he had not gotten such a bladder infection and hadn't been hurting, we would not have known until it spread to his other organs. So, let me tell you. The snow melted and I drove to our freakin' doctor's office and told the receptionists, I wanted to talk to the doctor and now. The doctor heard me, took me back, and I said, you almost let my husband die. You were so convinced that his crones is all that could be wrong, and why couldn't you do a yearly prostate check. They take three seconds. I was furious. Needless to say, he is not our doc any longer.
Monica, I, too, am amazed at our immigrant friends. We have a very diverse student population and I am amazed at the various languages that these kids speak: English, Japanese, French, etc. I'm all for our immigrants coming here and sharing their culture with us and just wish our country and our public schools was as adamant about teaching other languages to our kids as the other coutries are to their kids. Many of these countries begin teaching English, French, and Spanish to their children in first grade. Even the illegal immigrants who come here to work at jobs that no one else wants, show up at our community literacy organization to learn English. I am amazed at the tenacity through the hardships that these men, women, and their children have and what they go through to come here to work and to learn our language in spite of the people here who are always not friendly to them.
So, today, my granddaughter and I have a big day: dance this afternoon and Christmas lights this evening. Yeah! Hope you all have a good day
Well, had my drug screen yesterday ... only took two times to pee in the cup (the first time they interrupted me after about five minutes and said time's up). Then I had two more times in two hours. So they gave me some coffee and I had my water bottle. I drank the coffee and the water, and headed back in the bathroom. No one interrupted me. Finally, the dam broke and I peed. So the pee will be off to the lab on Monday (unfortunately, I missed the FedEx man because I got there too late).
Well, I'm back to work tonight. Could use more time off to pack and clean, but don't have it. So glad I will be out of here soon.
Sold a couple more bobbleheads. Will miss them but it will get me some money and less poundage in the move.
Have a good day.
Trish: so sorry that you missed your appointment. I have never lived in that environment with so much traffic. Only if there is an accident does it come to a complete stop. Hoping and praying that your depression lifts.
Monica: so proud of you too!!!!
Lightswitch: Sorry I forgot your name. Yes, I agree that US schools are not keeping up with systems in other countries. It's a shame that our kids are not given everything they need to function in this global society.
Yesterday was so so busy. Over did my activity and my knee is very painful and swollen. Took pain pill and iced it, but no relief. First Mar and I worked out in the community pool for an hour. Then my PT came one half hour later. She pushed me for an hour. I was ready to cry. She had me walk without any assistance. Wobbly and afraid of falling. We put the tree up and Ellen put the lights on. It looks beautiful from the road. Showered and Ellen did my hair. Mar and I went to the casino to listen to a live band. We only gambled when the band was on break. Right away I won. I came home with my 20 dollars and 105 more. After my win I just stayed away from the slots. I am glad to win. I'm going to pay a bill and buy a few Christmas gifts with the rest.
Ellen took my picture before we left. I love the front view but was sorry to see the profile. I didn't realize my abdomen is still so big. Will post them someday.
Take care, Mag
The abdomen is the last and hardest place for me to lose, too! Got skinny thighs and a skinny butt, no boobs left, and even my double chin is shrinking. But not my stomach. It's so frustrating! I swear, I think I could wear a size 14 pant if my waist would only shrink another couple of inches. You hang in there and post those pictures anyway! Look how far you have already come! Proud of you, my friend!

New car is finally in the driveway! Whew! You can see pics on FB if you're interested. It's a very nice ride. Now, I just have to learn how to work all those new fangled gadgets!
Got a slight headache this afternoon. Prolly from all the stress this morning. Just took a couple of Tylenol, so maybe they will knock it. Doubt it, but maybe.
Going to fix myself a mug of hot tea (it's chilly here today) and then sit out in the new car with the instruction books and see what I can see. Got to get familiar with everything before we make our first trip in it to Houston tomorrow.
Love you all!
