Tuesday What's Happening?
Good Morning Family,
I am up early, not sure how long though.
I hope everyone is staying sane with the last minute holiday prep. I am panicked about the bedspread for Isabel. Not sure it will be big enough by Christmas. I measured it yesterday, and it needs 10 more inches. It is a square, so it gets bigger as I do each row.
I also need to make a tuna casserole, or two actually. One for me, the other for a friend recuperating from arm surgery. She keeps doing things with her right hand, and is going to suffer for it.
I hope everyone is doing well. Prayers for all who need them.
Hugs,
Trish

Morning Trish, OFFr Friends. . .
Think I finished my shopping last night at Khols and even bought myself a thing or two, but I had a 30% off coupon, so I don't think I spent more than $50 on myself.
Don't stress yourself, I'm sure you'll get the bedspread done and I'm thinking of doing some crocheting in the new year.
Anyway, all is well here, I never did decorate my house, but the trim is not done, and no one is really going to be there to enjoy the decorations anyway. I've been decorating myself the past couple of days wearing my Santa hat, which gets people smiling and that is a nice benefit of it, had a little girl about 9 or 10 come up to me last night to ask where I got my hat, to which I had to reply, not sure sweetie, got it a long time ago. . . I really am not sure, but I think this is the hat my friend Anthony gave me when I lived in New York and used to do the Christmas day mission volunteer for the seniors. Anyway, feeling good and looking forward to seeing my family members this weekend.
Hugs and good wishes to all, special prayers and vibes going out to all in need of an extra helping of peace and strength at this time.

Good morning Trish and Laureen! And all my OFF sistas to come!
Trish--you can do it. I've been down to the wire on projects like that before. Just keep stitching. It will happen. (Same goes for you, too, Judy! )
Laureen, my house is not decorated either. Feels strange, doesn't it? Love the idea of you decorating yourself. That's just so typical of you and your upbeat attitude!
Well, the dust bunnies and I are in a fight to the death around here! Along with their allies, the spiders and cobwebs. Ugh! Can't stand those things. I have really got into it now. I'm washing curtains, taking apart light fixtures to wash those, etc. As a result, my house looks like a war zone, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing when I finish and put it all back together, it's going to be CLEAN!
This is the first really thorough cleaning I've given this house in a long, long time. I'm ashamed I let it go for so long.
But, oh, it sure does make my shoulder hurt. Damn bursitis. I'm not supposed to do repetitive motions with it. Well, hell. What is mopping and sweeping and vacuuming but repetitive motions? All cleaning is repetitive scrub-scrub motion. I just have to take a pain pill and go on.
So today I'm going to set up a little miniature tree and decorate my fireplace mantel. Not much, but just enough to give a little holiday cheer for next weekend. It will just be my mom and Carrie and me here, but I figure we will enjoy ourselves. Might as well have some Christmas pretties to go along with our weekend. Of course, most of my decorations and my stockings, etc., are all down at the lakehouse, but that's okay.
Missing my husband very much this week, but I'm determined not to let it get me down again. This is not the first Christmas he's missed, and it probably won't be the last, although I can hope so. When, oh when, is that man going to retire?
It also feels very strange not to be doing any holiday baking this year. On the other hand, it feels very good to be weighing 90 pounds less this year! I keep telling myself to keep my eye on the prize!
Well, lots to do today, so I'd better get crackin'! Love you all!

Good morning OFF FRIENDS
prayers going up from our house to yours for all who need or want them. am baking a bunch more cookies today the bunch I baked last week are all gone. I do volunteer driving for senior citizens and fixed up nice plates of cookies and candy for about a dozen that are alone. I have received several calls asking for more for their friends that are also alone, and need some for the family gatherings this weekend. I have only eaten 3 small cookies in the past week! In Monica's words, so proud of me!! Need to hit the road to go do a bunch of drives again everyone who don't drive needs to get ready for the holiday also and I do get much satisfaction from helping others. Makes me think I am doing something worthwhile since I cant find a job, Drivers are much needed in our small rural community,
Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning Trish and Friends,
It is very quiet here. Ellen and the cat are still sleeping. Poor girl. She works 1PM til 9PM for the next two weeks. The person who usually works them is on vacation.
I'm almost done wrapping what few presents we have Last summer I purchased dolls for my 2 nieces. Left them at my friends house with the understanding she would mail them to me right a way. Well, they got here yesterday afternoon. To the post office. I'm sure they will be late which is a shame.
This is the first year that we put the big tree up since my Mom died 5 years ago. Not a lot of ornaments on it and no glass ones. We didn't know how Bela would react since it is first tree. He has really been good. Hasn't knocked it over, but likes to bat the lower ornaments around.
Everyone have a beautiful day. Mag

Good Morning Patricia and OFF,
I'm locked in the spare bedroom with the two dogs. I ordered Direct TV yesterday and "wonder of wonders" they are setting it up right now. The guy was supposed to come between 8-12, which to me means 12:15 or later. Well, he was here at 7:50- I was still in bed, in my nightgown. The dogs went crazy... so I'm in with them trying to keep them calm. It's a great excuse to find time to post.
I am relaxing... today I have a hair appointment and TOPS. THe rest of the wee****il Christmas Day, I HAVE NOTHING! No work, no appointments, no social gatherings. The house is decorated, the family committments have been met. By the way- I gave out the scrapbooks that I have been working on for seven years to my husband's brothers- they were SO THANKFUL. Even the men were riveted for over an hour with looking at the pages. I made a shadowbox collage of my Mom's costume jewelry for my own brothers and daughter (and myself). I included her Stanley Home Products pins and awards where they would fit. She was a Stanley dealer for her whole adult life so many of our memories include the Stanley "process". My Grandma was also a Stanley dealer. Anyway, the collages were great and a surprise to my brothers. This is our first Christmas with no Mom's or Dad's. I'm allowing myself to grieve when the feeling comes. What I really want to do with my vacation is sleep and read. Cleaning and laundry will mess up that plan somewhat, but I'm quite sure that I'll get a good dose of reading and sleep anyway.

Julia,
What a perfectly WONDERFUL idea about making shawdow boxes of your mom's costume jewelry! I am amazed at your insight and creativity. My mom has a few pieces of good jewelry, but mostly she loves to wear this big, blingy, gawdy junk jewelry. We all tease her about it incessantly, but truly, it is part of who she is to us. I'm going to remember your idea and when the time comes, I think I will make shadow boxes for myself and my two girls. It might make us cry a little, but mostly I think it would make us smile to see her big clunky jewelry on display. Thank you for such a wonderful idea.
Also, if you want a bit of light reading, I'm reading David Baldacci's The Christmas Train right now. Not his usual fare, but really quite good! I highly recommend it.
Enjoy your wonderful holiday. I think sleeping and reading sound like fine activities!!!

Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I had five phone calls this morning waking me up at 8 a.m. and beyond ... I ignored all of them and went back to sleep ... but they interrupted my sleep. And it was such a good day to sleep, too, a rainy, dreary day.
I finally found a mover, but I'm having second thoughts. They did not get good reviews online. But they're reasonable and I can afford them. And best of all, they can move me. Two Men and a Truck could do it, but they are much more expensive. Plus, I'd have to pack everything, including the TV, microwave, etc., things most movers pack. I'm fine packing my books and stuff, but most movers pack this other stuff. I hope I'm not making a mistake. But I need to make a decision, so I booked them and hoped it was a good decision. I haven't given them any money yet. They didn't ask for that.
I wish I had Christmas decorations up. I have no holiday spirit right now. I miss my decorations, but there's no sense in putting them up while I'm getting ready to move.
Back to work tonight. Not much else going on. Have a good day.

So right now I'm going with this company out of Texas called R&L Moving. ... unless someone else comes up with a better quote. They are doing it for $2200; Two Men and a Truck came up with $3500-$4000, although they only carry my stuff and no one else's, which is a plus. Like I said, I hope I'm not making a mistake. I still haven't confirmed my debit card yet; I have two days to back out. In the meantime, I'm packing and pitching.
