Saturday Happenings-What's Up?
I really appreciate all the prayers and replies to my Facebook post about my fall and broken nose. I feel so stupid. In addition to the broken nose, I have a lump and scar on my forehead, a cut on the brodge of my nose. Also, my left knee and shin are messed up, but not broken. I have to call my Ear/Nose/Throat doctor on Monday to see about moving my appointment up. I already have an appointment to see him on the 17th, but really hope he can get me in next week sometime.
Today, I am taking it easy. I am in a world of hurt physically, and my dignity is outside on the street where I fell. Tonight, my sister-in-law and her husband invited my sister and I over for pork barbecue and a game night. We all love a game my daughter got us hooked on. Anyone hear of "Ticket to Ride?" It's pretty cool.
Prayers for anyone needing them. Would appreciate prayers for healing and strength, also that I would be able to get in to see the doctor sooner.
Hugs and love,
Trish
Albert Schweitzer

Trish you will continue to be in my prayers. I hope the healing is fast.
Today is sewing and sewing and more sewing. I have all of the nursing covers cut out, so I just need to sew them. I have bought all the boning in town, so I ordered more online. I am back to sewing all day, crochetting all evening.
I think this is the last day of hunting season, so we know where our son is.
My new range won't be here til Jan. 3rd. Hopefully our son will be available to pick it up with his truck and get it installed. We did find someone to haul away the old one with the cracked ceramic top. I still have a waffle iron, a microwave and a George Foreman grill, so no one is starving here! Gotta keep my boys full and happy.
Speaking of boys. Our grandson who moved to IN with his girlfriend is a little discouraged because he can't find a job. Her mom said they could come live with her if they both found a job. They both have vehicle payments and insurance to pay. Apparently the girlfriend is not looking for a job cause she doesn't feel good. The grandson calls his Mom every morning. She says she talks to him more than when he lived at home! Of course, here he had 2 jobs!
Gotta get to my sewing machine.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Morning Trish and Grammylew and OFF family yet to come in...
Trish I am so sorry that you fell and broke your nose...OMG how in the world did that happen? Prayers that you heal fast and can take the pain...and also to get into the ENT sooner!!
Caroline...why didn't your grandson stay there instead of moving away? If he had 2 jobs he should have stayed put! JMHO Hope he finds a job soon!!! Glad that you are getting your new stove...we are STILL waiting for our new refrigerator here! Tenant needed a new stove and BOOM!! Here it is already!! Thought for sure our refrige would be with it but nope...sighs. Tuesday I am going to ask my boss what happened.
Gloomy day here today. Had so much rain yesterday thought we should build an ark just incase!!! Tenants tell us when it rains alot it floods here!!! GREAT!!!! Just what we want to hear and know.
Finally got our moving expenses and also my security deposit back. Now I feel better with money in the bank!
Have 3 days off but on call for emergencies. Hopefully nothing will happen and we can get more stuff unpacked and purge what we relly do not need here!!! So much smaller here than last apartment and no place to put all our stuff. Rick said to get a storage unit...hell no!! Get rid of the stuff we don't use anymore!!
Ate a huge orange last night and OMG it got stuck!! Was in misery for a couple hours and finally I made it come up!! Couldn't take it anymore. Feel so much better now!!! I sure won't eat a huge orange again in one sitting that is for sure!!!
What is everyone doing for New Years? We are staying home and just be alone and hopefully nobody bothers us. Rick is cooking stuffed pork chops.YUMMMM!!!!
Lots to do so must get going. Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
HUGS
The girlfriend says his parents don't treat him like a grown up. But I'm beginning to think now SHE wants to be his Mom and run his life. But I may be wrong and I am keeping my opinion to myself.
I am still supporting his decision, working on afghans for the baby and praying he is happy! Love can happen in a short time (my DH asked me to marry him 4 hours after meeting me) so maybe they ARE in love and belong together for the rest of their lives.
My stove better get here Tuesday as planned. Besides the inconvenience of not having a stove, I have a huge hole where the other one was!
Good Morning Trish and OFF-
Trish you have had a year. I hope that they will be able to get you into the ENT specialist sooner. I would plead the case that the fall was due to a dizzy spell caused by your sinus infection. I will send you some positive thoughts.
Well, it's a foggy day on the upper Texas Coast. Cold air is supposed to moving in on Monday, meanwhile highs in the 60's low's in the 50's and morning fog.
I'm slowly withdrawing from holiday over indulgence. It's so easy to slip back into bad habits. It doesn't help that they have a snack box at the refuge that we are allowed to purchase from. I have to keep telling myself that I didn't work so hard at qualifying for surgery and going through the surgery to regress now. Hope the self talk works. Started back to the wellness center water fitness class. That is kicking my butt a bit especially my right hip and knee. They pop with slight pain like your knuckles. Have to talk to the chiropracter about that.
Tomorrow one of our volunteers will move on to Mississippi. I'll help her put air in her RV tires today. We'll be down to five of us for a couple of weeks. In late January another couple will join us. On the 4th a group of us are going to the dedication of a new building at another Refuge that is about 30 miles away. We'll help with traffic control and building tours. Made some good headway on my project this past week.
Sending everyone positive vibes and wishes for a happy, healthy New Year!
Trish I feel so bad for you. You must be in awful pain. Still saying extra prayers for you!
Anyone hear from Eileen yet???
As for me I don't plan much but staying in my room and resting. I don't allow the dog in my room so I can breathe a little easier in here. I have such a horrible cough/croup. I probably should have went to the doctor. I have a lot of sinus drainage that isn't helping with the cough.
I don't plan on going out tonight. I will just plan on watching some movies and relaxing. Feeling too ill to do anything else.
So what is everyone here planning on doing to welcome in the New Year 2012?? I hope this is a better year for all of us.
Wishing you all a really great day.
Many prayers for many in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d
Trish: Thinking of you and praying for you.
Connie: Praying for healing for you and praying for your family. Especially little Grace.
I have so much to do today but I don't have much energy today like I've had all of December. Need coffee bad but forgot to make it. I have decaf that is ground but too lazy to grind the other regular type. I mix them together in equal parts.
Have 6 meds to pick up today. I didn't want them to go on next year's account. Donut hole and all that.
Hugs and sweet thoughts for everyone. Prayers for those with need.
Hugs, Mag
Hello, everyone!
Well I think I've finally managed to get my sleep cycle back to normal..at least Im sleeping at night and awake in the daytime...lol....wiped myself out by changing all the bedding but then I laid down again after, feeling like such a wimp.
Oh dear, a Dutch friend showed up with 3 dozen freshly-made "oliebollen" and "appel floppen"..a Dutch New Year's custom...oilebollen (oil balls) are round doughnuts you roll in icing sugar and apple flappen are apple fritters...omg...I can smell them...I will not eat..I will not eat...I will not eat them...but somehow a salad just doesn't appeal to me right now. Maybe I will do laundry right now! *s*
Tonight is my son Derek's birthday dinner party next door...they combined it w/NY eve party...many are bringing their kids so it won't be a big drinking kinda party, thank goodness they are not into getting drunk.
Danny was supposed to do his level two flight exam but freezing rain made them cancel his flight...better safe than sorry. He was supposed to do alot of difficult maneuvers, emergency landings and instrument-only flight /non-vision piloting(meaning he has to wear a helmet that forces him to fly only w/instrument input, he cannot look outside for visual markers.
Thinking a quick nap might be nice, I'd lay down with a book but that's a face since I am fully aware that I'd never get past the first ten words anyways...lol.
Trish, please do take care of yourself, Connie...all things happen for a reason and you have to listen to your gut *hugs*.

My day is quiet, I made a big breakfast for hubby and then his diet starts tomorrow. His request this year for Christmas was no clothes,,he wants to lose weight after the holidays. So,,we are both headed in that direction starting tomorrow.
Its cool and damp here today. I dont think Im leaving the house till evening. We have watch night service at church starting at 9, with lots of music amd preaching, Since Mike is preaching tonight he will be spending the afternoon in his office in study and prayer. After he fixes the daughters tire on her car that is. Being a single mom of three boys and very tightly budgeted it comes in handy for dad to be a manager at Midas. LOL
Made a pot of chili yesterday so Im gonna put it back in the crockpot to heat up for supper. We are having a meal after church in the fellowship hall, a breakfast at midnight. We always look forward to the fellowship, I dont care much for the food. I still cant eat eggs very well so will have a couple slices of bacon and some toast maybe..and coffee.
Hope everyone has a blessed and prosperous New Year, and a quiet and restful New Years Eve. My momma used to say whatever we were doing at midnight is what we will be doing the most of in the new year. Oh Lord,,we will be eating,,LOL.
Hey Judy, I cant eat oranges very weel either,,most fruit still gets stuck! So you are not alone!
Well, better go do something constructive.
Blessings
Betsy

I'm bringing up the rear today. Just had a nice long phone call from hubby in Saudi. Well, I say nice. Actually he was grouchy as an old bear today (not that I blame him, poor baby) and I got a little emotional, so maybe it was not our best phone call ever. Still, I'm grateful for the technology that allows us to talk over a distance of 12,000 miles. Incredible.
Just 18 more days until he comes home. Whew. Long, long hitch this time.
Trish, I'm so sorry for your accident! I know exactly what you mean about leaving your dignity outside! I slipped in the hot tub a couple of years ago and broke my nose, too. You talk about humiliated and embarassed. Not only was my nose gushing blood, I was NAKED, too! LOL! I know how much it hurts, but it will heal. Prayers for swift medical attention going up.
And today, my dumb ol' (broken 11 years ago) ankle is still acting up on me. I'm getting a little cranky about it. I toughed it out all day yesterday and finally gave in and took a pain pill about 9:30 p.m. last night so that I could get to sleep. It didn't work. Got up at midnight and took another pain pill and the damn thing finally quit aching long enough for me to fall asleep. But it woke me up this morning, aching and almost throbbing. I sure wish I knew what causes it to flair up every now and then, and more importantly, how to make it STOP.
So today I will do nothing but sit and keep my ankle as quiet as possible. I have to hold it at a certain angle or it screams at me. Guess I'll sit here at the computer and pay bills and work on our finances a little. Then into the recliner with my crochet and some movies. Connie, you and I could have a date tonight! Our NYEve plans are almost the same.
I'm worried about our Nan. She hasn't posted on here or on FB in a long time. I figured at first that she was overwhelmed with treatments and with Christmas, but now I'm getting worried. I hope she will post soon. And I would like to hear an update on little Morgan, too.
I was looking at my calendar from last year this morning and looking at all the milestones I marked on my way to and after WLS. I gave up Cokes last year on Jan 17th. You'd better believe I'm going to celebrate that one! I was a total "Coke" head! LOL! Had a Coke for breakfast every day of my life since I was 16 years old, and quite often had one or two more each day. Now I rarely drink anything bu****er. Maybe a swallow or two of milk or OJ every now and then when I need to take a pill. My life has sure changed!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve tonight! Stay off the roads if you can. Lots of irresponsible people celebrating out there.
Love you all!
