Good News and a Busy day tomorrow too

The new transplant doctor is really good.  He put DH at the top of the list and said that his eyes are the worst that he has seen in a very long time.  He said he would get DH in for his pre-op consult the day before they transplant and since eyes can be kept for a little longer than other organs, we will have time to check into a hotel and get some rest before the surgery the next day.  He was optimistic and told us that he was sure that everything would be smoothe but if something happened, he would just put him back on the list for a second and a third until one takes.  But, he said he rarely sees anyone reject an eye.  This was supposed to be our long weekend that we were going to spend doing very little but my granddaughter is here and we decided to go to the mall in the morning and she and I are going to get make overs.  Okay, she is just four, but I had an appointment to get a facial at the mall and so I called the lady who does my face and she said bring the baby and I'll put a little lotion and some lip balm on her face. So baby girl and I are going to get that done and then head over to my hair lady and get some hair stuff done and the last thing we are having done is nails.  I don't usually do my nails but baby girl wants to get her nails done, so I called a friend and she called her friend, and her friend called her nail gal and so we are in.  A busy day for us. I am thinking of getting a new tatoo.  I have a couple that are where no one can see them but me, and I have one on my ankle, so I'm thinking of getting one on my right shoulder that has a dog wood bloom and I'd like to get a butterfly on the inside right ankle.  So now you guys know…I love ink.

Several times in my life when I've tried to "make something happen" and DO manage. it turns out not for the best. Perhaps this is one of those times. Not that you tried to force anything. Just saying that it sounds like this surgeon and staff will treat Kenny and you with the utmost respect and caring. I'm hoping that first eye is the one that is meant to work for Kenny.

I've seen shows on tv about people who haven't seen or heard for many years sometimes since they were infants. How amazing what modern science can do. To see and hear them following transplants makes me tear up with joy.

Sending all of the positive thoughts that I can dredge up from deep inside.

INK? Not me, can't stand needles. Tolerate them for shots and sewing but that's it. I think small ones look nice, but can't imagine the people that choose to cover almost their whole bodies. I have a friend who for many years had a huge purple stain birthmark covering most of his face. In the past 10 years most of it has been removed. He was wonderful on the inside and had many friends but I'm sure suffered a lot from rude comments as a child. Amazing change in his physical appearance. I don't think there i a place on my body other than my ankles where I could put a tat without it later getting saggy and looking like one of those distorted mirrors!

Baby Briley was up for a change of diaper, some milk and a cuddle with grandma. Back to bed for both of us.

The ones on my neverseenbyanyone regions were pre wls and are somewhat like a melted painting.  HEHE  but the new one on my outer ankle is holding its own.  I am not getting ink on any part of my body that has sagging potential; hence, my ankle and up upper shoulder.  When I get up in the early morning, Baby Girl always joins me and when I drink coffee, she drinks a cup of milk--of course her milk must come in one of my coffee cups.  She told me this morning, Nana, we have our routine.  I said, yes we do.  Now she is four and knows words that I don't think I knew until I started school.  She is here telling me to hurry and drink my coffee and read the news so we can get started on our girls day.  Her memories of her nana are going to, I hope, make her a fantastic grandmother.  She said, Nana, write down how to make thumb cookies so I can teach my little girls how to make them.  I cracked up.

Have fun with your girls and remember that at some point they will tell their own children about the wonderful time spent with their amazing grandmother.

Jeannie....praying the new doctor finds a transplant soon and that your hubby can see clearly once again!!

I only have one tattoo. It is on my left shoulder. I got it when I went through all my child abuse issues and such. It is a small butterfly flying free trailed by some stardust.  It is a symbol of my being set free.  Someday when I can afford it I would like another small one.  I want letters of my grandchildrens  first names entwined in flowers or something. My granddaughter Kyleigh is a good artist and  is working on a design for me.

Have a fabulous GIRL's DAY!!! Sounds like so much fun. You are making some wonderful memories with her!!!

Nic and Grace call me Nana too. Reading about your granddaughter makes me realize all the Gracie fun I will be missing. :(

Love and hugs.....connie d
