Mothers Day Happenings
It's Mothers Day. I am in Pittsburgh, on my way home from a wonderful week with my daughter and grandchildren. The new baby, Franklin, is adorable. He has his sister's eyes and brother's mouth.
This morning, I will have breakfast with my younger son. Then, Utley and I will get on the PA Turnpike for the ride home.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Mothers Day.
Love to all,
Trish

Happy Mother's Day to everyone who is a mother, has a mother or just feels motherly!
I have gotten Mother's Day texts from all of my East Coast kids. I expect some from the West Coast ones later. I got a great edible arrangement from our son and his family, and he just hand delivered a sentimental card on his way to get his Sunday hair cut. I only got a card from our daughter. A sure indication she is VERY strapped for cash!! I am happy if I just get a phone call from each of the kids. I don't need gifts. But I know it pains her that she can't be as lavish as she usually is!
She moved into her new 2 bedroom apartment yesterday with lots of friends helping. Much of her stuff has to go into storage until this mess is over and she can find a final place to get settled into. She has a six month lease on the apartment.
Got side tracked from my sewing yesterday. My DH and I went to the fabric store, lunch, get the oil changed and to the commissary. But I managed to get a few things sewn in the afternoon. I have put the boxes of fabric back in the closet. If I keep looking at them, I keep digging out more material to work with!! Everything I'm gonna make is cut out and ready to be put together. Sooooo, I guess I better get started.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!
after a rainy miserable sat today is cool but so gorgeous out. A happy Mothers day to all the ladies simply because you are ladies! The four kids we most consider ours the ones who we finished raising all called yesterday or this am. They are all having tight money situations so we insisted no gifts but a visit sometime when they could afford it so we are looking forward to some visits in the near future. I would rather see and hug the kids than receive stuff anyway.
This is my third year without mom on this day and I still miss her. I always will. I believe that those who are lucky to have good moms all will always Miss them I am certain I am not alone in that.
Prayers going up for all friends here who need or want them
Have a good day everyone.
"Happy Mother's Day" !!!!
I will be leaving soon to go to the cemetery to visit Mom. It has been 12 years and it still feels as fresh and new as when she passed. I miss her with all my heart!!
This afternoon I am going to have a meal with my daughter, Carrie. 4 out of 5 of my grandchildren will be there. Nic is up this week from Iowa so he will join us. The only one not there is little Gracie and of course my daughter Jamie. It will be a so special to all be together again. I am BLESSED!
Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Safe travels to those on the roads today. Prayers for many in need.
Much love and many hugs to all....connie d
I am spending mother's day with DH. My children have sent me mother's day videos and I have face to face with the grandbabies. The flowers that my daughter got me are still very pretty and my son sent me a video that melted my heart.
Yesterday, I cleaned the house from top to bottom and today I am going to iron.
Happy Mother's Day to you all.
No presents from Juliette, except for some kitty kisses and thankfully, no hairballs. We had a little play session this morning and she was so sweet. She is much better, not scratching so much and her bumps are starting to scab off. Love my little furbaby. I'm thankful she's in my life.
I Skyped with Mom this morning ... sent her a card but no gift because I have no money. She looked nice, even though she was still in her jammies. She had her hair fixed and was getting ready to get in the shower. She and my brother are going to my oldest brother and SIL's home for their traditional Mother's Day Chinese food take-out. They'll get to see my SIL's newest grandson (oldest brother remarried, so this is a step-grandson, but who cares about titles? Ed loves him just the same, just as Margaret loves my nieces boys). Margaret's DIL, Holly, has been popping out the kids every two years ... she has three now and wants more. She just loves having kids, even though her doc has told her to ease it off some and wait between babies ... too hard on the body. This is the first boy after two girls.
It's cloudy and a little chilly here (72) and my body hurts ... we're going to get rain. I made a yummy protein drink this morning with dark chocolate almond milk: half cup of that, half cup of FF regular milk, scoop of vanilla protein powder, teaspoon of instant coffee, some ice cubes, some SF Kahlua syrup, put in a blender ... yummo! The dark chocolate almond milk is good, but there's not much protein there (1 g) for the calories (130), so I am not using a lot. But it sure tastes good in the shake.
I have to work again tonight ... Monday and Tuesday as well. I'm trying to talk my brother into coming down here when I have my shot in the back to be my driver, then stay down here for a day or so after. It'll be good for him to get away. He's thinking about it.
Well, have a good day.
Evening OFF family..well I waited til now to tell about my day...Rick made me french toast for breakfast...served it to me in the bathroom!!! OMG!!! He said it would get cold if he kept it out in the kitchen...sighs...MEN!!! LOL Well I MADE him take it to the kitchen and if it got cold when I was through in the bathroom so be it! Well it wasn't that cold...lol then we got ready and went to the grocery store for babyback ribs for our supper. Came home and cooked them...also had some fresh asparagus, potato salad and baked beans. Can't believe we ate all that so we went for a bike ride...thought just around the complex no biggie...wrong!!!!! We went alot further than that! In fact at one point I thought we were lost!! LOL But we found our way out of the dead end roads and back to the one to get us home again. LOL we had alot of fun and plan on doing it again more often! Right now my legs are sore and my hands feel like they are sleeping! can hardly wait til tomorrow!!
Heard from my youngest son...Happy Mothers Day is all in a private message on FB. Nothing from older son yet. Sighs.....
Well time to take a shower and veg out...actually need to get the food put away before we forget....looks like we will be eating ribs for a few days!! YUMMMM!!
Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!
HUGS
