Saturday Happenings-What's Up?

Good Morning Everyone,
I'm starting to feel a little better.  I'll feel much better once the surgery corrects the problem with my sinuses altogether.

Last night, was my nephew's Special Olympics basketball team's Parents/Athletes game.  Not only did his mom play.  My mom was out there passing the ball.  I have pics to prove it.  What a hoot.

Today, I am heading to my therapist's office.  I go once a month now.  It saves me money, and I have been pretty stable since I fell and was hospitalized in January.  Well, at least till I did the med change and had the agitation and anxiety.  He reminded me on the phone about my need for self-soothing, whi*****ludes deep breathing and exercise.  I have been slacking on both of these.  If I did those more, it would cut down on emotional eating.  They work.  I also need to find my small recorder for the visualization exercise he recorded for me.  That helps a lot too.

Tonight, I'll probably go to my sister's for a Scrabble game.

Good Morning Trish and OFF-

Glad you are feeling a little better.  I had a friend who suffered from chronic sinus infections.  They finally packed his sinuses with fat and sealed them shut.  No more sinus infections.  But that is extreme.  Hopefully this ENT will be able to get to the source of the infection and zap it once and for all.

Yesterday I drove to Bangor to see the NUT and the surgeon.  The NUT was a new one and kind of a dud.  Surgeon was pleased with my weight loss so far.  I've been bothered the last two weeks with heart burn.  She prescribed Prevacid but my insurance won't pay for it.  ARGH.  So now the pharmacy has contacted my surgeon who has to contact my insurance company etc...  So I came home and drank a swig of Maalox.  She said I probably have a slight case of gastritis due to the transition from Texas to Maine.

Today I will attack the yard.  It's supposed to be nice and sunny the next several days.  Want to take advantage and whip the yard into shape.  We've had two nice sunny days so the wet leaves are drying out and I can use the leaf blower to get a lot done.  Have to put out slug bait because the slugs are eating my irises.  Lots of hosta's to split.

Started to walk the road this morning but turned around.  The black flies are out in force.  I think I'll just get up each morning and pedal on the pedaler until the black flies are gone.  Should go away in another week or two.

I've had trouble sitting still since I got back to Maine.  I have deep cleaned the bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen.  I start a new knitting pattern that makes lacy hand warmers.  Forces me to concentrate on the pattern and not think about stuffing things in my mouth.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Just a quickie! Took my grandson to dinner at Zaxby's yesterday, then had him back to the Academy for formation. This morning he has 2 final exams (English and History). He says he'll ace the English since it is entirely on "The Red Badge of Courage". That boy has loved to read since he could hold a book and read in jibberish!
The Awards Ceremony is at 2. I have decided on nice pants and a top. I may be overdressed for the cookout, but don't wanna be underdressed for the ceremony.
Yesterday he said now he wants to return to Camden for his Senior year. His Dad says absolutely not! Not sure if his Dad doesn't wanna pay, or if he doesn't wanna rattle around in that big house alone. And the grandson may just be saying he wants to come to Camden again because his Dad says no! It's the kind of thing he would do. But he has decided he wants to go to college at The Citadel. That was his Dad's idea a year ago, but now that his Dad will be paying for it, he may have changed his mind. Of course, again, that may be why the grandson wants to go. But once the divorce is final his Dad will have enough cash to send 6 kids to college, and still have $ left!!
Spent a nice hour in the jacuzzi last night. Went down for some oatmeal for breakfast, brought some yogurt up for later.

Morning Trish and Caroline and OFF family to come yet...

Its 70* already this morning supposed to hit 85* today...finally!!!!!! We are planning on taking a short ride SOMEPLACE just to get away from here for a few hours!! Haven't been anywhere since Christmas I believe so a short ride out of here will do us both a world of good!!

Getting alot of compliments on the way the clubhouse looks after Rick painted the timbers white and put the black mulch all around it. Now if the money would get here so I can buy the flowers to add to it!!! ;-)

Got a 30 day notice from another tenant yesterday. Leaving because she can't have her dog here. Seems she "thought" she could have any size she wanted as long as it was ok'd by her dr as a "companion" dog. WRONG!!!!! States right in the rules 40lbs and under for a companion animal. IF it is a SERVICE animal it can be ANY SIZE. Hers was NOT a service animal at all and she did a good job of keeping the dog hidden for almost 5 months!! Rules are rules and it was either get rid of the dog or move...NO exceptions. I feel bad but I can't let this start to happen. And this dog also when came up on Rick growled at him...so could this elderly woman CONTROL her 60 lb plus dog if needed in the future? I don't know and I wasn't taking a chance. So she is now moving out. Like my boss said...she would rather have an empty apartment for a few weeks than a dog like that. I agree.

My seeds I planted are starting to come up already!! I am excited! I told Rick we had babies!! LOL So far some raddishes, and a couple cucumbers popped up. I think one or two beans are a bit through have to look this morning and see if they are. Was hard to tell just yet last night.

Well need to get dressed and take Bandit for his walk and then hit the road...no idea which direction we are headed but we are on our way!!!

Good afternoon Trish and everyone......

Our A/C went out yesterday!! It was 94 outside and even hotter inside. I had a really hard time. I had a lot of trouble breathing. Darn asthma and COPD!! They can't get the part to fix it until Monday or Tuesday....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!  Guess I will be heading out to find some cool air somewhere for the  day.

My date was okay. He talked all night about his ex-wives and ex- girlfriends. Also how he was so attracted to redheads and big booties. I asked him why he came to see me after all I am blond and have a very small booty!! He said "oh why not, I like you!'  I was board listening to him. I hardly got in a word all evening. We have a lot in common but I am not sure I can deal with his BIG HEAD!!!  I will try it once more...maybe...he wants to see me again!  Thank goodness my friends band was playing and I knew so many others there. They came and talked several times and that helped.

 Your description of your date gave me the giggles.  I hope either all goes much better on date number 2 -- or you find a nicer gentleman.  Can't wait to hear the scoop, though.  You have a way with words.
