Guess its my turn again!  Its been few days since I have posted.  We dont have internet at home right now and going to McDonalds gets tiresome!  I do read most days though and continue to pray for all friends here.

Jo, it is hot up here too. I may even get in the pool today. My DH & Son are bringing up 7 of my grandaughters. I am so excited. Well not much else is new. Hope you all have a great day.

Carl made it to Denver in spite of the flooding in Florida and the fires in Colorado.
Carl plane was actually a half hour early. Imagine that!
We have errands to run this morning and I need to get groceries.

Good Morning All,
Trying to get an early start this morning in order to avoid some of the heat -- 100 again today. Since retiring, I have become the offical chauffer for all of my grandkids that don't drive yet and that is 6 of them. Not complaining since they think I'm the "most wonderful Granny in the world." (I'm sure your's think the same.) Aren't they wonderful!!! So I'll pick up one and deliver him to his summer job then take the youngest two to the movies this afternoon -- going to see Brave.

Oh, Sandra, that sounds like fun!  Wish Benny was old enough to go to the movies.  I love Disney movies!

I wish I lived closer to my Munchkins, because I would love to take them to the movies at the theater.  I joined the Disney Movie Club, to keep them supplied with them, and enjoy sitting wtih them, watching them.  I just love the idea of taking them to see it on the big screen, and eating the popcorn, which we sometimes have at my daughter's  

I've talked to my daughter about moving to Michigan to be closer to her, but she has actually discouraged me for practical reasons.  She is not so sure about her family staying in Perry, or possibly even in Michigan.  The economy being so bad, it's been hard for them.  She even applied for a position as a professor at the Bible college near here.  Problem is, she really doesn't want to work full time while the kids are little.  If her husband's job provided medical insurance, she would not have worked at all.  Hopefully, once the Affordable Care Act kicks in, that can change things for her.

Enjoy your grandchildren.  I only have the three of them, in Perry.

Good Morning Jo and Nancy and everyone else!

Lordy it is hot here, too!  Of course, you kind of expect that to be the case in the summer in Texas.  Watering my poor grass this morning before the excessive heat hits again today.  Filled up Benny's wading pool for the deer to drink again today.  Yesterday one of the little fawns actually got ALL THE WAY in the pool and was having a grand time splashing around.  So cute.  Did you know baby deer wag their tails when they're happy?  :)

Got through yesterday without having any cookies or sugar or treats.  Instead, every time I got the urge to snack, I ate a piece of fruit, mostly watermelon.  Will try for control again today.  I just hate sugar--it is the very devil to me!

Today I've got a hearing with the appraisal district to see about getting our property taxes lowered here. The appraisal district came through here 3 years ago and raised the appraised values in this neighborhood through the roof!  All my neighbors got theirs lowered, but we didn't know about it and have paid the higher tax rate the last two years.  So I'm headed down there today to argue our case.  Only problem is I have to take Benny with me.  Oy vey.  I hope he will be shy (he usually is around strangers) and just sit in my lap quietly!

Not much else going on in my world today.  Benny accidentally jerked on of my good gold hoop earrings out of my ear last night and I can't find that little sucker anywhere!  I know it is in the house.  I will keep looking.

Better run hop in the shower and see if I can get dressed and make up on.  A tall order some days!!!  LOL!

I sympathize with the sugar monster.  It sometimes gets me real good.  What I've tried to do when I am with my grandchildren is just make a "No Sugar" promise to myself when I am around them.  When I bake for myself, I make the cookies with Splenda Sugar Blend.  It cuts the amount of sugar in the recipe in half, or maybe more.  

I did go through a pretty ugly period during my alcohol relapse, where I was out of control.  Hence the 45 pound regain.  Now, I am slowly getting it back to where it needs to be.  Weaning myself off it has helped me immensely.

 Well, I'll try again.  I was almost done a full post, and it just disappeared.  

We are supposed to go to the low 90s today.  I am fine, as long as my A/C is working.  

Today, is an R&R day for me.  I also need to stop at the grocery store for some berries.  I have my yogurt, but need berries to make my smoothies.  I also need more milk to make another batch.    I am slowly learning and plan to master this art of yogurt making.  It is so much cheaper than buying the little cups.  My only ingredients for the yogurt is milk, doesn't matter if it's whole, 2% or skim, and I add Splenda and vanilla.  When I serve it, I add fruit, or make a smoothy.   This weekend, I am getting some cheesecloth and a candy thermometer.  I have a meat thermometer that works fine, except it gets hot around the pot of milk, and I have come close to getting a steam burn.

I hope everyone is having a blessed day, and is able to stay cool.

Afternoon OFF family...Hot as heck here also and still going higher!! So far it is 91* opps 92* now!!! Supposed to hit 101* OMG!!!!!!!!! Heat advisories out til 8pm...got the club houses AC running so they can come sit in there to keep cool and I also have alot of cold water in the refrigerators!!!! See how nice I am to these tenants that kick me??? LOL

Anyhow not much going on today just trying to keep cool and people calm....hahaha. Listening to the police scanner and boy there are alot of ambulance runs already in this heat!!!

Had some excitement last night here...had a guy come through here asking Rick for a smoke...he told him he was on his last one. I told him he should follow him see where he was going...he said nah...little bit later I get a call from a tenant...police were there this guy was on other side asking them for money and smokes!!!!!!! I told Rick that SOB was over there and the police were there also!!! He took off running so fast!!! Turns out this guy is a no good heroin addict!!! Had so many tenant upset I was at my wits end!! I called the police back to see what to do!!! We have no soliciting signs up so nothing but tell him he can't do that after 8pm...if we had an address where he lived we could put a no tresspassing on him so if he comes back we could have him arrested!!! OMG we are so busy trying to protect these people!!!And what thanks do we get???????? Sighs.

Ok lunch is over now and need to take Bandit out for potty walk. Hope we don't melt!!! LOL
