 Good Morning Everyone,
I could have sworn I posted a message.  Oh well.  Our temps cooled down overnight.  I was able to cut the grass this afternoon.  I have to get back out to the patio with my saline water.  I dissolve a ton of salt in ho****er and pour it on the weeds that are popping up on my patio.  It kills the root, and the ones I did already have not grown back.

I already made one AA meeting this morning, and hope to make another at 5:30, depending on when the Phillies game ends.

I spoke with Sean yesterday.  He is home from rehab.  He was helping me with my computer.  He can work on it remotely.  Problem is, my computer kept bumping him off.  Anyway, he sounds good, and says he is going to work his program this time.  Please continue to pray for him.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning, off to the Gym shortly and then going to look for Granite granite counter top. Hubby seems more excited about this than I do. I would just like to get one part of the house tidied before we start another mess.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Yesterday I went and got a pedi and gel nails. I've never had fake nails before. Holy Hannah, how do you guys with fake nails do it ?? My daughter just says I have to get used to them. Uh-huh! I can do my iPad cause the buttons are big. Plus I have one of those stylus things to use on it. The phone?? An entirely different story. The stylus doesn't work. If I turn my finger sideways I hit too many letters. Maybe I'll have to learn to type with my toes!
Also yesterday I made some 'pig candy' for a recipe my DH wanted me to try. It spilled over into my oven. Which I didn't realize til this morning. A hot rag and soap do nothing. Sooooo I decided to use the oven clean thingy. Lordy, you'd think I set off a tear gas granade in here. I know my DH's nose is more sensitive than mine but come on!! He has all the doors and windows open, fans sucking air from the kitchen towards the doors and back of the house. He can't believe it isn't bothering me at all. I think this is how my granddaughter's fish died when I was there and cleaned my daughter's oven!!
After I clean the oven I will make the cupcakes my DIL needs for tonight. Then, not sure!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning!

Just sitting at work working so hard it looks like, lol  The lady I work with doesnt come in for at least 2 hours after I start so it gives me plenty of time to catch up on things.  Didnt have the greatest night with the boyfriend last night so it wasnt a very pleasant morning.  If he were to say he was taking his stuff home I would help him pack!!!  Oh well, thats another story.

Have a great day everyone!!

Welcome Sue C and Debra G,
It is always nice to see new faces!!!!! I am typing on my Netbook, I hate this stupid small thing!!!!! I took it cause it is lighter to carry around. I am in Ft Lauderdale visiting my doctor friend for a day. I am 230 miles from home. I needed some adult time away from my kids.
Three more weeks and I fly back to Denver to be with my gal pals again!!!!! I am also having hernia surgery. The doc office hasnt called to tell me when yet. I have three calls into them.
We must be in our rainy season here. It has rained about 4pm everyday since I have been home!!!!! Not much but rain none the less.
Have a great day everyone. CArla

Good morning, Trish and my OFF sistas!

Trish--where'd you go?  LOL!  I think we lost your message in cyberspace!

So, yesterday Butch and I ran up to Waco to visit with our daughter Carrie.  We were just suppose to fix her fence where Lulu keeps getting out.  HA!  No good deed goes unpunished.  About $1000 later, we were on our way home wondering What the Heck Happened???  Had to put new tires on her car, had to make her car payment for her, etc, etc, etc.

Sometimes we just look at each other and shake our heads in bemusement.  How much money would we have now if we had never had kids???  Geez.

Oh, well, such is life.  You can't take it with you.

Got home last night to the news that Christie's car wouldn't start.  Great.  Butch put the battery charger on it overnight, but I suspect we are going to buy a new car battery for her today.

I am looking forward to our "date" in Austin tomorrow night.  Going to meet Butch's sister and family for an early dinner and then we're all going to see The Sound of Music.  I love live theatre.

I hear my boy talking to his "babies" in the crib.  Time to get moving.  Got gymnastics this morning, so I need to get his breakfast ready.

Love you all!

Good Morning Trish and OFF-

Well I got my butt out of bed this morning and walked the road.  To the head of the road and back is 2.2 miles.  I strapped on weights to my arms and did arm exercises while walking to increase the aerobic content.  My size 18 pants are getting tight and I know that's because I'm not doing water fitness whil in Maine for the summer.

Pretty disgusted with myself as I had a binge day yesterday with pub cheese, nutella and a bag of pretzel logs.  It's all gone now so back on the wagon and determined to stay on the wagon.  Don't know what prompted the binge as things have been going well lately.  The neighbor ladies have been getting together and playing Mah Johng (sp) once a week.  In addition we're also getting together to knit.  I'm coordinating a community garage sale this weekend.  I've also signed up for an online dating service for 3 months.  That might be what's causing the comfort eating.  The prospects out there are not great let me tell you.

Anyway, I am not happy because I have had a gain of 2 pounds in the last week.  I'd settle for a stall.  Certainly don't want to give up what I've done in the last year as I approach my one year anniversary.  Gotta get my butt in gear!

The lake is navy blue today and choppy with white caps.  Weather is nice and cool so I will spend the day getting the rest of the stuff tagged for the yard sale this Saturday.  It will be at the town hall and so far just myself and one other gentleman have tables.  Hope I sell the stuff or at least make the $5.00 table rental fee.

Have a great day everyone.  Welcome to the new faces.  Positive thoughts going out to those in need.

Cindi,

You can do it, chickie!  Just let yesterday go and go forward from here.

I've been "indulging"(isn't that a nice euphemism for bingeing?) in those little 100 calorie packs of gold fish and teddy grahams.  I wasn't going to "indulge" at all today, then Christie and I got into it and I ate animal crackers, some mints, and some marshmallows.  Arrrggghhh!  Why do we do this to ourselves?  I'm drinking a protein drink right now and trying to talk myself down from my mad.

All we can do is all we can do each day.  Some days go better than others.

Good Morning Trish, Everyone Else!!!

Typing at you all from work, where the project from hell is still in progress. . .  I am going to rant for 2 seconds here. . .  I am grateful to be employed, however, I do not love this job, ok, done. . .

Will attend the noon meeting here in town and after work I will go home, perhaps go to another meeting with my roommate, it's a big book study, which for those unfamiliar, is the AA "bible" and where a recovering person can find the solution for continuous, ongoing sobriety.

My other roommate called me from the bus depot, where she was waiting for a bus, last night to say she had relapsed, she has been in and out of the program for over 20 years, she was really doing well, everyone who knows her was saying that she had finally embraced the solution and was working it, but yesterday she decided that drinking was an option and made that choice, needless to say, last night she was a mess.  I had her meet me at a meeting that meets around the corner from my house and told her she has one chance and if she does not choose sobriety, she will have to move, as I will not subject myself and my other roommate to the upheaval that goes with revolving door sobriety.  I also have to worry about the fact that I own a Rottweiler and dogs often react badly to people who drink and so I would not want anything bad to her which would subject me to problems.  There is much going on with people I love that I can do very little for, all I can do is pray for them and hope for a brighter tomorrow for all concerned.

Life is never easy, but I am grateful for the things that are good in my life today and will focus on those as I continue through this day. . .wishing you all that you need to face whatever challenges are in your own lives!

Laureen

My new compact Bosch washer and dryer were delivered yesterday and are waiting in my hall to be connected and stacked in my laundry cubbyhole...I'm used to a compact toploader so looks like I have to do a lot of bending to get wash in and out of washer as no use putting in a base as a riser as that would make the stacked appliances too high for the closet.

Also as these are German, the 24 " wide washer is also 240 v and plugs into the dryer, then the 24" wide dryer plugs into the standard 220 volt for the dryer in back of the laundry closet wall...and they both can run on as low as 208 volts usually found in apts.. Means the washer piggybacks onto the dryer for electricity source,  and the dryer  plugs into the standard 220v socket.( A washer made in north America normally  plugs into standard 120 v  socket  also supplied at the back of the laundry closet in my case).  I knew that from my research on the Internet over Sunday, and confirmed it with the salesmen I spoke to by phone on Monday, seems it has been a nasty surprise for some people according to the reviews I read, as they only bought the washer and could not connect as they were not aware.

What would we do without the information and consumer reviews readily available on the Internet...You can do your comparisons in the comfort of home before you head out. Remember the hours spent in stores with salesmen before you narrowed down your choice?
